Assisted Living Communities in Spartanburg, SC

"It was number one on my list for quite a while. It was very well done, well shown, and relatively newer facility than the other facility. They are built in a perfect square so you could walk all the way around and through the place. Some of the doors were open so you could see the kind of room space they had, and it was very excellent. They have a living room area where there are a number of residents hanging out, and that was a good thing. It is totally assisted, and they don't really take that next level of skilled nursing care at all, so I had to take that one off the list. It was also a little bit further away from where we live, so logistically it went to the bottom of my list. I didn't have much to judge their activities except for a group of people watching TV in their living room. The person who gave me the tour was very knowledgeable, friendly, gracious, and supportive of the community she was advertising, or she was showing. She was enthusiastic. She wasn't just the typical marketing person who makes something look better. She was very genuine in what she was showing me and how she reported it."

"The Residences of Greer is a new facility. They seem to have everything we need there because they got a doctor on call and whatever else my wife might need. They've got live entertainment every two weeks. They've got a band that comes in and plays. It just seemed like a pretty good fit for her. The staff during the tour was very good. Everything I looked at was neat and clean. They had it well organized."

"My husband is in here. We chose it because we had a good deal with them, it's closer to my home, and the care that they give him. The others were too far from where I live. The staff members are fine; my husband likes it there. He is well cared for. We can't visit it being locked down since March. We did a virtual tour. They showed me the whole facility. I like it. My husband seems to like it. He's comfortable where he is."

"We have moved into Harmony at Five Forks. The staff is very nice. They seem to do a good job on the staff. The facilities were very nice, too. We have a relatively large apartment. That's one of the reasons we picked this place because they have good-sized apartments. It's a two-bedroom-two bath, and it's a ground-floor apartment with a patio that goes outside, so it's very convenient. In assisted living, they don't allow any cooking or anything, but they provide a refrigerator and a microwave. Out of the places we looked at, this was by far the best. The food is excellent. We're sort of vegetarians. They don't have a lot of vegetarian options, but they have some, so it's really good. They have a lot of fitness activities. They show movies and lectures and so on, and they have happy hour. It's nice, but it is very expensive. "

"My mother moved into The Legacy at Southpointe Drive. The first week has gone well, and we are working to come up with the best care for mom. Everyone has been very helpful, very kind, and very informative with any questions or concerns that I've had. She is in a secure memory care unit that requires an access pad entry. She has a lovely little apartment with her own seating area, bedroom area, kitchenette, bathroom, and plenty of storage space. There are scheduled group activities throughout the day. They have thei private dining area for scheduled meals. They plan trips for the residents of memory care, and my mother will be participating in physical therapy located here in the building. The place is very nice, set back in a very quiet area, very clean, and very personable looking. The outside was well-manicured, it has easy access, easy parking, and all of that."

"We had chosen Highlands Senior Living Forest City because my mom only has so much money and it fit within her range. During my tour of the place, they showed me the assisted living apartments and the lady who did it was very nice. The room has a dresser and a bed with concrete walls. They're also trying to renovate because it is an extremely old building. For food, they provide 3 meals and 3 snacks a day."

"My parents will be moving into The Blake at Hollingsworth Park. They offered the best two-bedroom, two-bath units. The staff was very, very, very helpful. As a matter of fact, they were the two things that were especially important. They didn't have an actual two-bedroom unit available, so they made a doorway between two one-bedroom units. It enabled my parents to be able to move when they needed to. They showed me all the living spaces, like the dining room and all the public spaces. It is a lovely facility. It is a newer facility, and it's very nicely done."

"We went to visit and it was good, it's very nice, and everybody there was very nice. We enjoyed the visit to their memory care unit. The person who assisted us was very good and very professional. She showed us the rooms, the amenities, the cafeteria, the place where they play games, and the hair salon."

"I got a full tour of everything. It was beautiful. The staff seemed wonderful. The rooms were spacious. It was very nice. They have a lot of activities that go on. They have a theater room and a full salon. They have just different things like that. The grounds were beautiful. You could go out in the courtyard and sit. They had a huge fireplace in the entrance, the little bistro, and all that kind of thing, so it was just very nice. It's very nice and brand new. It was just a good experience."

"We are fairly new residents. We sold our beautiful home. Made this decision before in became an emergency. We were very upset doing this. Good move. We love it here. No regrets. We have a 2 bed 2 bath and a great screen porch. We like the staff and they like us. Our neighbors have made us feel very welcome."

"Eden Terrace of Spartanburg is a happy, colorful, and very friendly place. They are very well staffed, too, and I', impressed with them overall. Dad's two-room apartment is nice. This facility has a lot of people, and they work hard to keep them educated and help residents to keep working to be their best. "

"I had an unsupervised visit here. It was OK. They had a cafeteria, and it was nice. They had typical activities, but I came at the time when there weren't a lot of activities going on. It seemed to be clean, and I just talked to one lady. I was satisfied and overly impressed by it. "
