"TerraBella Shelby was nice. When I saw it, I thought about putting my mom there because I was impressed with it. But their rooms were small. The upkeep looks good. The three staff members that I interacted with didn't act professional enough. Two of them were in the room with the door closed. You could hear them laughing and it sounded like they were having a party in there. When we came in, there was nobody to greet us. We just sat down there for a long time, even though we had an appointment. And finally, we got up, knocked on the door, and told them we were there to see someone. They called her, and when we came back out, it was still not a professional atmosphere. It was more like they were just there for the money. The dining area seemed a little smaller and more cramped. Some of the residents were there doing craft activities in a very small, cramped area. They had an outdoor space, and it was being reworked at the time."

"The Inverness at Spartanburg is a pretty good place, they take care of my grandfather just fine. I was looking for the least expensive community and this is the lowest one I could find, so I'm satisfied where he's at. The staff is pretty good, and hospice would also come in three times a week. They've got stuff and activities for the residents to do. They also have a TV room, puzzle room, and they've also got physical therapy. He's in a shared room there, but if you wanted you can get a private room and pay more money. He has to have his food pureed there."

"My mother has been a resident in the memory care unit of this facility for over two years. Unfortunately, she will need to be moved to a facility with skilled nursing care. We have developed relationships with the staff there, and it is very evident that they care about my mother. Since it is small, it feels much more like a family setting than an institution. We will be very sad to leave. "

"Wesley Court was fine. The only problem I had with this place was I just felt it was a little too crowded and located in a busy area right in town, so to speak, of Boiling Springs. The hallways and everything felt a little claustrophobic. The halls were narrow with lots of people going up and down the halls. We just needed something that didn’t seem so crowded. "

"We had chosen Highlands Senior Living Forest City because my mom only has so much money and it fit within her range. During my tour of the place, they showed me the assisted living apartments and the lady who did it was very nice. The room has a dresser and a bed with concrete walls. They're also trying to renovate because it is an extremely old building. For food, they provide 3 meals and 3 snacks a day."

"The problem with Rosecrest Retirement Community was that it was just too far for me to travel to my dad. They weren't as overly helpful as the other facility, but they seemed to be a nice facility. The staff was friendly. I saw the dining room and had a quick look at the gym. The facility looked very clean and well-kept."

"My dad has been in Brookdale Forest City for a month now. The living atmosphere is terrific. Everything about it is good; I haven't found anything wrong with it. He loves the food there. The dining area is very fancy, very nice, and very homey. It doesn't look like an assisted living facility at all. They have all kinds of activities for them to do. They've got a calendar they put out every month and it's got all their activities on it. They got arts, different crafts, and all kinds of different things for them. They have a salon, a recreation room, and a rehab facility. The room is like a room in one of your houses would be. You can't tell any difference. It's very homey. It has a little sink, a refrigerator, a kitchenette, and a full bath. It's well worth the money. It's very well kept. We're very lucky to get him to be there."

"My father is in Morningside of Gastonia. What I like best is that he has a place to live, that he is safe, and that he has help when he needs help. I appreciate them checking on him and being just mindful of his health. He contracted COVID and had to go to the hospital at one point, and they were very quick to let us know. I talk to him every day and all I have to do if I have a question or concern is call and they'll connect me with the nurses' station or with the person that I need to speak with. I just feel very comfortable with the level of care and the attentiveness that he has there. They're kind to him. They know him by name. My dad is legally blind and has some dementia, and he often needs help maybe with things like even turning his television on, and all he has to do is ask someone to help him, and they will come in and help him. The building is clean. It is very comfortable. When you go in, they have chairs at the front. They have bulletin boards and everyone's door has a decoration on it for holidays and things. It is a lovely facility. The dining room is like a nice dining room at someone's home with smaller tables. It can sit four people at a table. They keep it clean and nice for the residents. They have bingo regularly. They do monthly birthday parties for the residents that have birthdays in each month. They have special guests coming in. Sometimes they'll have someone come in and play the piano and different things like that. They keep them busy. They go on outings to restaurants and local baseball games. It has a welcoming, friendly, and comfortable atmosphere."

"Gaston Manor was nice. They had very customer-friendly people. It was very clean, but it was a little older facility. The rooms were a little bit smaller and a little bit older. However, they were clean and nice. The staff, from my observation, was very knowledgeable and seemed to be attentive to the residents. "

"I didn't even visit any of the others when we found out they had an opening all of a sudden. My husband is in the memory care. It’s in my hometown, and my mother had been there. The staff is great. He’s in physical and occupational therapy, and they have activities in the afternoon and in the morning. The food is mostly good, and he eats everything. They say he cleans his plate. I’ve been very pleased. They’re renovating and almost through with the memory care, and I’m sure it’s going to be beautiful when they completely finish it. "

"I had an unsupervised visit here. It was OK. They had a cafeteria, and it was nice. They had typical activities, but I came at the time when there weren't a lot of activities going on. It seemed to be clean, and I just talked to one lady. I was satisfied and overly impressed by it. "

"Sweet Caroline was nice, small, and very private. They had a lot of activities planned, and they take them out every day to do something. They go to senior centers and picnics. The person who toured us around was very nice. When they found out that my grandmother had a pretty good sweet tooth, they actually baked a cake for us. "

"I liked the staff at Pacifica Senior Living Skylyn. I was shown several different areas. They answered all of my questions and listened to me. The room that we saw was a 2-bedroom with a living area. It was very nice. It was roomy, and I felt like my parents could be very comfortable there. The ground floor was very pretty, and the place is close to things like shopping."

"My family member is very happy here. The staff are very caring and attentive. Management are accessible and take swift action on any things that need to be addressed. The first thing noticed is the age of the facility but I’m told a major renovation is eminent. Our relative is making friends. They are picky about food but they are satisfied with the taste and quality - no complaints. There are activities but I’m not sure what they are as they don’t participate. They have a transport to take residents to medical Appointments. Again we are very impressed with the proactive approach of the management team. "

"We have placed my wife’s mother in Shelby Manor. We are well pleased with it so far. The staff that I’ve met has been very informative, helpful, and friendly. We have no problems with any of them. They have alarms on all the doors, so it seems that security is important to them. "
