"My mother is in Brookdale Brushy Creek, and so far, it's been great. She loves the food. The people are great; they love her, and they're caring for her. I would recommend it. She has a shared room. When you walk in, there's a bathroom, a little sitting area with a sofa, and a little kitchen that has a tiny refrigerator and some cabinets. They're like in their own room without a door. They have curtains, which we really liked because she's sharing but has her own room. It's a good location. They do have a central courtyard that they can go sit. They do a lot with the people there. They have couples there who just need some extra assistance. If one spouse needs help, I would definitely recommend they both move in. It's reasonable. They are very helpful."

"Harmony at Five Forks was very clean and very well-organized. Their residents all seemed to be in a very happy state. It looked like a nice place. It's a place I could put my mother in. The rooms were clean, they were well-organized, and they were safe. One of the things that I like is that their memory care is separate from assisted living. The staff was very pleasant. My contact with the staff was very limited, but everybody seemed to be doing their thing and enjoying it. And their exercise class was full, which I loved. They also have a library where a lady was putting together a very major jigsaw puzzle, and then in the memory care unit, they were having a group that was watching television, and then they also had a group playing bingo. I only met with sales and marketing, but the staff was friendly. The community dining areas looked great. The dining for independent living is a very upscale type of dining room. It's a fairly new facility."

"My sister is at Brookstone Terrace of Simpsonville. We chose them because they have assisted living and memory care people all together, and she needed more communication with people who were not quite as bad off as some of the people that were just in memory care at the other place. On top of that, she was able to keep her dog, even though she's a memory care patient, so that was a big plus for her. Her living space is nice. They have pretty nice facilities as far as the rooms go. The staff members are very nice. They have a lot of different programs. It's overall a pretty nice place."

"Viva Senior Living at Gaffney is a five because of everything that I saw, the amenities and what they offer, and it's close by to me. Everybody was very helpful and attentive to what I was asking, and they answered all my questions. It's a very nice place."

"I was able to visit Emeritus for my mother. We liked everything we saw. It was extremely clean. The whole facility was extremely nice as well as the rooms, dining room, and the people. I didn't meet any of the staff at that time, but when we were introduced, they seemed very nice and capable. There's nothing that I could pick out from this place. "

"My father is in Quillen Manor. Their price range was what I wanted, but the communication about medication is a little bit of a problem. The food looks fairly good. He's always playing bingo there, and they have an entertainment room with a large TV. It's very clean, and the outside is very nicely kept. It's a very nice place."

"We toured The Blake at Hollingsworth Park. Compared to other facilities, it was pretty glamorous and it was more expensive. The staff during the tour was excellent. Everybody was very welcoming. The dining was more like a restaurant, so it was very nice. The room accommodations were very beautiful. They had a beautiful courtyard area. There was a media room. This is a very nice high-end facility."

"We had chosen Highlands Senior Living Forest City because my mom only has so much money and it fit within her range. During my tour of the place, they showed me the assisted living apartments and the lady who did it was very nice. The room has a dresser and a bed with concrete walls. They're also trying to renovate because it is an extremely old building. For food, they provide 3 meals and 3 snacks a day."

"We visited Laurelwoods. The place was very clean. The agent that took as through was very professional, and very caring. Everything looked excellent. I was in a rural area, but it was very safe; very secure. I would feel very comfortable if my dad would be there. I thought it was very bright, and cheerful. Some of the residents that I spoke to all seemed to be very happy. "

"Kauhale Pettigru was recommended by two physical therapy places that my relative was in. When she got out of those, they gave us a list of what they would recommend for her and that one was second on the list. It's also within her price range. It's a fantastic place. They take care of everything. They do laundry. They do meds. They do physical therapy in-house. They have a dining room with a fireplace. They have an outdoor patio. It's pet friendly if you want to bring your pet. It's amazing. What stood out were the staff and the cleanliness. It's the top. It basically looks like a home. It's got a grand staircase going up to the second floor. It's got an activity room right past the receptionist desk where they play games and a patio off the back of that. They have outings that they go to on their bus around town. They take them to their doctor's office visits away from the facility. It's included in their charge. It's amazing. They're proactive. They do room and hall checks. She also has the panic button she can push around her neck on a key fob. They're very responsive. They post a menu every week of what their entrees, sides, and desserts are going to be. It looks like something that anybody would enjoy. It's not the same daily. They have an in-house chef that cooks for them. Everything is immaculate. They have no carpets in the room. Each room has the luxury vinyl top floor where it's easy to move around and keeps the dust down. They clean every room top to bottom, showers, bathrooms, everything. They also have a refrigerator and a little freezer, and they have a microwave. They have a cabinet for storage. They have a large closet for her stuff. She enjoys it. They play bingo, they do puzzles, and they have story times where somebody comes in and tells a story. They have a balcony off the back of that. They have a fireplace in that room. It's got real comfortable chairs and seating. They do outings in their van. They take them around town just to get out of the facility. They walk them down the halls. They also have healthcare workers that come in and do physical therapy for them in their rooms twice a week. They have doctors that check on them. They have a nurse that comes by. They do the laundry for you. They have three meals a day for you. They have a clean, nice facility there. They have staff that respond and appreciate taking care of the residents. It's always welcoming when you go. They have fresh flowers there. The grounds are kept nice. I told my wife that if something happens to me, that would be a place that I could enjoy. They have TVs, radio, phone, and internet, so everything is there."

"I like that it was local; my mother-in-law is there. The staff is very good, very knowledgeable, and friendly. Sanitation is very good and well-maintained. The room is spacious with new bathroom and closets, and it’s a got a living room where we can turn, and it got enough room. The staff is very attentive to her needs. "

"We toured Waterstone on Augusta. What I liked about it was, number one, it was a newer facility. Number two, the care that we saw exhibited there seemed excellent. The people there were very accommodating. The facility itself was excellent, very clean and sanitary. There were lots of activities for the senior adults to get involved in, and the people there were just extraordinary."

"I toured Summit Hills. It was an excellent place. It was almost like you'd been to the mountaintop. It was top-rated, as far as I'm concerned. The tour was awesome. The staff was top of her game and very informative. She gave us the paperwork and I came away with literature to read. I toured the grounds, the apartments, and one of the homes that were completed. It was a gated community. They had a security person after hours. They had the homes and the visual layout plans. The place was huge. It's a vast area. We were in a golf cart to go around the gated community area. The independent living apartments had a refrigerator, an oven, and their kitchen was large. The bedroom was large, too. They had an indoor pool."
