"Emerald Gardens of Greenwood Assisted Living & Memory Care is a beautiful facility. There were no bad odors. It smelled really good. Everybody was friendly. The staff was wonderful. I was very impressed with everything. The only thing was, it was a bit pricey an the rooms were a bit smaller. They had a library and an outdoor space."

"Our experience with The Renaissance Senior Living has been great, much better than I anticipated. The facility is just really lovely and the staff is fantastic. They are very accommodating to Mom and the family. She is in the memory care and her room is very nice. They only have private rooms. So, she got a private room with a private bath and it's very well designed and kept up very well. The dining area is also very nice. It makes you think of home. The food is so fantastic and they offer a lot of different varieties. It is top of the list. They are very engaging with the residents. They let them go outside with them, accompanying them, and they have different games that they play. They offer physical therapy. They're very homelike rather than institutional. It's a beautiful setting right across from a small college. It's a brick facility, and it is very well-maintained."

"My top choice would be Harmony at Five Forks. The facility is clean. Alexis, who gave me the tour, was very helpful with explaining everything that happens in the memory care community, and also it is closest to my home. We did get to tour through the dining area and I was offered something to drink. It looks more like a regular apartment-style building. It doesn't look like a nursing home."

"The Legacy at Southpointe Drive was nice. Claudia, the director, was wonderful. She's very good at what she does. The facility has two floors, so some of the residents stay upstairs and some of them are downstairs. But the activities are all downstairs, so that's the only thing we didn't like about it. My mother-in-law can't go up and down. She can't walk very far without getting winded, so that would be kind of difficult for her to have to go downstairs and do the things that are there. They have a studio apartment. It was big enough; it was a good size. They have an event calendar and they talked about the communities coming in. They have activities. They have a garden. The dining room was not very big, but it was nice."

"Do not be fooled by facilities that show you all the glamorous rooms and programs they offer, those are set up as showrooms. ALWAYS ask them about End of Life, Skilled Nursing, and Memory Care, your loved one may not need it now, but it could be a possibility in the future. Know what is expected of you if the money/insurance runs out, know the options bf you place your loved one with a facility. We toured a place that looked like a country club, but they didn’t provide skilled nursing, if needed, or around the clock care, they said they had a tech available at night. Caring.com got me started and was a valuable resource. They didn’t try to guide us to certain places, no conflict of interest, just told us what was available in our area. After visiting 15 places, we chose The Clinton Presbyterian Community. They offer multiple layers of care, very clean environment and the staff were very friendly and caring. My Mom says the food is great, that’s a plus!"

"My dad has moved into Woodbridge of Clinton. The facilities are nice. They're clean and very well kept. It's an older building, but they've done a pretty good job of cleaning it up and making it very presentable and livable for people. Most of the staff are very friendly and very attentive to my dad. They do a very good job. They take the time to talk with him and spend a few minutes when they can with him and things like that, which is very nice. I have not tried the food, but I've seen the food that they have, and for the most part, it looks pretty good. My dad enjoys it. They have activities, but he hasn't participated in any yet. He has only been there for a little bit now, and so he's just kind of settling in. They're very affordable, too. They have a library, an activity room, a dining hall, and a chapel. That's the only one we went to because it was close, and we liked it. It was very clean and very nice looking. We toured the room, and we felt that for the price and for the location, that was a very good place to send our dad, and so far, we've been fairly pleased."

"I was at NHC Healthcare of Clinton for a while under doctors' care and they treated me real well right there. All of it went real well. It was clean, the staff was adequate, and the food was good."

"We have my sister on the waitlist at Quillen Manor. We were impressed by the cleanliness, the staff interaction, and the size of the facility. The staff was very accommodating, friendly, and interactive, and all the interactions we had with them were very professional. She will have a larger studio. One of the main factors for us that was positive was that it's an all-inclusive rate. They had a courtyard, a library, various places where families could meet together, and a nice dining room. All the facilities and amenities were very nice."

"We have my mother on the waiting list for the Legacy Reserve at Fairview Park. The staff members are very helpful and very friendly. They are a caring community. The rooms are very spacious and clean. They look very nice. The dining room is beautiful. It is set up very nicely. I would tell others that they're very helpful. If they have any questions, they will answer them for them, and if they don't know the answer, they will find it for you."

"Fairview Park was very nice. The people there were nice, and they gave me a nice tour. It was like a nice hotel, and it's just gorgeous. They had a two-bedroom or a studio for one bedroom. They had a bus that could take you to different places, like shopping. They have like three restaurants, and you could order from any of them. They feed you three times a day. The restaurants were nice. They had a sports bar, a big-screen TV, and a pool table."

"My mother is a resident of The Springs at Simpsonville. I like the fact that they've got a friendly staff. They are very accommodating, and they offer the services that my mother needs. She has a studio with a private bath. Her room is single, so she doesn't have anybody else in there. It's large enough to accommodate her bed and to also form a sitting area. They typically have an activity in the morning. Like this morning, they were going offsite to a religious service. We ate there as a family when mother checked in, and the food was really quite good. They have a marvelous activities director."

"My father spent about three weeks at Restoration Senior Living of Simpsonville, and we were not impressed with that one. They pulled him out of there. They had a memory care unit, and they did not live up to their promises. My mom pretty much had to go up there and help them take care of him. They did not give him his prescribed medicine for the first three days that he was there, and then they tried to claim that no one told them about it. We had to get him out of that place, so I do not recommend Restoration Senior Living of Simpsonville. I didn't take the tour, but I did go over there while he was there. On the surface, everything looked good there. When it came down to the staff, they were understaffed. Some were friendly, and some were not very friendly. I think the food was okay. Some days my mom would be like, "They had this, this, and this," and then the next day she was like, "This wasn't fit for anybody to eat." They had an outdoor area just for memory care. It was locked down by itself. They could not interact with the assisted living area, so that was a good thing."

"Gregory's Community Care has such nice facilities. I was very impressed by the cleanliness and such of the facilities. Mrs. Gregory is such a kind person. The people are well taken care of there I know. It's always a shame when people say harsh things about other people, especially those who try to help so many people. My hats off to the staff and owners of these facilities. "
