"Do not be fooled by facilities that show you all the glamorous rooms and programs they offer, those are set up as showrooms. ALWAYS ask them about End of Life, Skilled Nursing, and Memory Care, your loved one may not need it now, but it could be a possibility in the future. Know what is expected of you if the money/insurance runs out, know the options bf you place your loved one with a facility. We toured a place that looked like a country club, but they didn’t provide skilled nursing, if needed, or around the clock care, they said they had a tech available at night. Caring.com got me started and was a valuable resource. They didn’t try to guide us to certain places, no conflict of interest, just told us what was available in our area. After visiting 15 places, we chose The Clinton Presbyterian Community. They offer multiple layers of care, very clean environment and the staff were very friendly and caring. My Mom says the food is great, that’s a plus!"

"My father just left the rehab side after many weeks of therapy. We had a great experience. The nurses were all very attentive and kind. They came whenever Dad needed them and always answered any questions I had with a smile. The therapists there are wonderful. Dad went in not even being able to sit up by himself and came out of there walking around 90 steps before tiring and needing to sit down. They all gathered around my Dad when we were leaving and hugged him and wished him well. Everyone we came across in his stay from the woman who does the laundry, the ladies that help clean them up and give them baths, the cafeteria staff, to the office staff were ALL so helpful, kind and truly seem to care about their patients. It's not the newest and best facility as far as how it looks but its clean, smells fine, and is filled with caring people and that was all that mattered to us. Thank you Simpsonville Rehab and healthcare for caring for my father and truly caring for his well being. You DO make a difference!"

"I visited NHC HealthCare lots of times, and it is fantastic. They have a beautiful little dining area, they have a rehab area where they do their exercise, and like the others they have a place to beautify the ladies. The grounds are very well-taken care of. The care is very good, they take their job seriously, and they are people oriented. "

"I have chosen Wesley Commons. I just toured the independent living but they have the continuing care community, so if I need care, it would be continuous and that's what I was looking for. The way I was treated was just great. I talked to some of the people who seemed happy. I was so impressed with the environment, with the staff, and with the facility. It was absolutely beautiful. It didn't take anything to convince me that was the place to be. The food smelled wonderful. We saw the prices and heard about how great it was. I was able to see a menu and what's served and it looked great."

"My mother-in-law was at NHC Healthcare Mauldin. It was clean. It was renovated. It had large spaces for activities. It was bright and lively. The activities were amazing. The dining room was amazing. Everything about it was wonderful. The rehab was spot-on perfect. The staff engaged us when we went to visit my mother-in-law. They had a good relationship with her with the way they interacted with her. They were helpful. They answered questions. They came when we rang the bell. They were very attentive."

The staff on pink hall are the best starting with Christy, Pam, Jan, Sherita, Gabby and the CNA'S . Granted there are a few that dont measure up,, but the ones named make up for what they dont do. "White Oak Manor - Newberry has 24-hour care and the service is excellent. They have physical therapy. They are topnotch and the management is on top of their game. Everytime I call and I have questions, I get answers. Life became a lot easier for me and my wife. It's institutional food, and somebody stays with my mother to make sure she eats something. They sit with us and make sure that we know everything we need to know about her care. It's an open facility. I can go anytime I want to see her."

"I'm considering Rolling Green Village for myself. I've had many friends who've lived there. The best thing about them is the friendly atmosphere. The staff is attentive. I have eaten onsite there before and I know the food is good. The place seems very inviting and clean. Clearly the staff is attentive to any cleaning that needs to be done. In my friend's room sometimes it becomes cluttered, but never dirty. My friend has so many things that she does. She has friends come to visit her and they're able to go to the dining room or to different areas and to visit or eat or play games. And she does get therapy there onsite. They have every sort of facility that you would need right there onsite. They have an excellent layout for the rooms. The size of the room is a good fit for someone with my friend's disabilities. It's very appropriate."

"My mother-in-law was at Encompass Health Rehabilitation Hospital of Greenville. It was clean and welcoming. It was good. I didn't get to encounter the staff as much. They were not nearby or available. It's not that they didn't do a good job, but I felt like it was a little more difficult to find them. They did, however, three hours a day of rehabilitating exercises, card games, and group sessions. They kept them very engaged. The facility was brand new."

"My father was a resident in this place when it was Oakmont Manor. The name has changed but from what I understand the standard of care hasn't. My mother was no longer able to provide full time care for my father. She would have died had she kept going at the pace she was going. We finally convinced her this was the best decision because Dad would be in a facility with equipment and staff to provide the 'round the clock care one person alone couldn't do. It was the most agonizing decision any of us ever had to make but we believed it was in my parents best interest. We trusted the facility. We were wrong. Every nightmarish thing I had ever heard about a nursing home was true with this place. If you love someone, don't send them here. If you loathe someone don't send them here. By the way when asked for value, I am not sure how to rate the value of breaking someone's spirit."

"My husband was doing physical therapy at NHC HealthCare-Greenville. They kept him busy. He did bingo, painting, and many other things. They had bands come in and play. It was great. They were short a lot of time with nurses, especially during COVID, so sometimes it would take a while for them to come change my husband, but we understood that. Whoever cooks there should go teach the other people how to cook. It was top-notch. They would give you choices you wanted and you picked it out. You could get whatever you wanted and then they had another menu if you wanted something else on that day. You could opt out and get something like a hamburger or grilled cheese or soup or whatever. He ate every single piece of it and he never left anything. The staff was awesome. Some of them would come to visit my husband even though it wasn't their job. The maintenance man came in to visit him. Then some of the nurses would drop by just to say hi. They had three courtyards that's right in the middle and you can go out there and they have all these flowers planted and a place where you can ride with the wheelchair and stuff. It was just beautiful. Every day I tried to get him into his wheelchair and we'd go and ride, which I think helped. The way the facility was laid out was great. The activities were the best part. They have them just about every single day. They'll have somebody come in to or play the piano. It was always something to get their minds off of their illness. The building was clean. They had everything organized. The physical therapy people were really good. They worked hard and tried their best."

"My mother has moved into Piedmont Post Acute. The main reason we chose it was because she had been there once before. It was under a different name, but it's the same staff and everything, and it's close to her family. She really likes it there. Right now, she's there for rehabilitation to help her walk again after the break of her leg. The staff has been very helpful and very attentive to her. She likes the staff, especially the therapeutic staff that are working with her. She has commented on how good the food is. She was surprised. She does memory testing and things like that. What they're doing with her right now is therapy to help her walk again. They have a salon and a courtyard and a formal dining area, and if her family wanted to come in and fix a meal and have a meal with her, they can. They have quite a few amenities that would be admirable for most places. Right now, her fees are being taken care of by Medicaid and her insurance."
