Summer was my dad's wound care miracle! She showed him that changing the wound didn't have to hurt like they had been doing to him in the hospital. He use to dread getting his wound changed but after how well Summer took care of him he looked forward to getting to see her on those days. The administration does listen to the patients and their family. We had a few issues but we were heard out and they are working on improving.

You cannot get in touch with anybody, get anybody to return phone calls. Quite a few employees have attitudes. It's not like we can just run over in 10 minutes and check on our loved one. I wouldn't recommend Patewood . Very disappointed. Thought they would be better than the others, but just a nicer place.

Patewood is a “Tale of Two Cities”. The first is the Therapy area which is a place where miracles are made. They transformed my wife from being paralyzed in both legs to walking in 10 weeks! Their fantastic staff convinced me to endure the horrors of the 2nd “City” - the medical staff. On our 3rd day there my wife was given and consumed medications that had another patient’s name on it. On most days my wife had to wait 3-8 hours to get help. As a paralytic she needed aid to go to the bathroom which for whatever reason the staff could not handle so they classified her as in continent (which she wasn’t). This resulted in her not getting toilet rights nor even bedpan support. Instead she was made to defecate and urinate in her bed - the same bed where she had to wait 3-8 hours to be cleaned! Consequently she suffered 4 bouts of urinary track infections. I could go on and on with examples of mistreatment but suffice it to say the staff ‘s MO was “Say YES” but “Do NO”. Yes to getting a doctor but no to getting one, yes to 2 hour Check ups but no for up to 8 hours, yes to having a spinal test to not having one, yes to providing bed linens to no we don’t have enough, yes to having a safe environment to No in favor of using ankle bracelets. The examples of malfeasance are many. If not for the therapy staff I believe this facility should be shut down!

Rooms are great. Very clean. I found the staff very accommodating and easy to get along with. Lots of activity going on.

My uncle stayed here and they completely neglected him. He sat for hours and hours on end in his own diarrhea and no one answered his calls for help, even after we called the facility to complain.
