"What my sister, the resident, liked the best about this Universal Healthcare facility was the homey environment and delicious home-style meals. And I agree with her. Additionally, the entire complex is designed so that every resident has a beautiful nature view from his/her room. That indicates a caring overall plan, very unusual and much appreciated. The staff iscompletely professional and attentive. Personally I have witnessed excellent and truly caring attention by nurses and CNAs, all of whom were stretched thin, as is the usual. I only hope all are paid appropriately for the care they provide. My sister was there because of terminal cancer. Every measure was taken to assure her the maximum of comfort. This is an excellent facility. I witnessed this on a daily basis for several weeks, so am sure that this is the usual standard of care."

"My visit at The Lodge at Mills River Health and Rehab was over the top. I like the staff, the food, and the location. Every staff member I dealt with was just top-notch. They were very knowledgeable, cared about the patients, and could not do enough for the family as well. I tried the food. They gave plenty of food, and it was good quality food. The dining area was very open, very welcoming, and very inviting. They have little sitting areas, TV areas, a game room, and so on. If I was recommending any facility in western North Carolina, I would recommend The Lodge."

"I also liked Beystone and that's where I will send my mom if she ever gets bedridden and start feeling downhill. They have good food, good care. It's a smaller facility, there are only 50 beds but I've heard really good things about them. It's warm, friendly, cozy, clean, and attentive. The interior was clean and comfortably and nicely updated. The exterior looked a little sad like a 1960s architecture building so it wasn't real great to look at on the outside but on the inside, it was good. My husband just ran into somebody whose loved one is at Beystone and they loved it. The staff was very friendly. The admissions person wasn't in so the director took me around and stayed in touch with me and was available on his cell phone. They were very accommodating to move mom right over there from the hospital. They weren't as big, they weren't as polished and they didn't have the garden but they're not as big and facility-like feeling. "

"This nursing home is a smaller one and it was a great experience for us as a family. We did not have to worry about our family member or wonder if they were really being taken care of here. The nurses were all so sweet to all of us and if we had a question about anything, they got answers for us quickly. They have a great rehab program that do exercises with the patients that they actually enjoy. We recommend this facility to others. "

"My parents are in Fleshers Fairview Health Care. We go there every day. The size of the room is perfect. The area is beautiful. The staff is very friendly. They played bingo or something."

"We visited Deerfield Episcopal Retirement Community. It's excellent. Everything was tip-top. I didn't spend any time with the staff. I was with my friends. I know two couples who live there. I did have lunch, and it was great. The facility was perfect. They have a beautiful indoor swimming pool, which is very appealing to me. They have a lot of activities. As for the value, I think it's excellent. The couple that has been there the longest did a lot of investigating in many, many, many places and did the research for the rest of us to fall back on. And they're very happy there. They've been there for five or six years. They chose it because, I think, two things. One, it's an Episcopal facility, and we all belong to the Episcopal Church. Secondly, they have a plan there that once you have moved in and are settled there, the price can never go up. If you become ill, they still take care of you. There's financial security."

"I come daily to visit my Mom. The staff treat her very well and she is happy here. Its a bit run down and the food could be improved BUT overall the care is reasonable and reliable. They really care for my Mom and her well being. "

"My mother has been in and out of snfs for over a year. I WISH we had found this one first. Haven lived through nightmare facilities, I can honestly say my mom was in the cream of the crop when it comes to snfs. The rooms are relatively large and roomy. My mother had a wonderful view of the courtyard where we placed a bird feeder. My mother’s needs were met by staff that were genuinely vested in her mental and physical wellbeing. I absolutely have not one negative thing to say about this facility. The staff, from the receptionist to the cleaning staff were so welcoming and loving. The facility was so clean and spacious. I never saw a patient without a smile on their face. The pt/ot had my mom up and on the mend in no time. Absolutely recommend this facility!"

"My husband stayed at CarePartners Rehabilitation Hospital. They were absolutely excellent. They have an excellent rehab facility. It's large. They have every piece of equipment that is needed for a thorough rehab. The staff was very good. The facility was well cared for. Cleanliness was excellent. They have a large fireplace room where people can visit with their families. The food was pretty good. I've been to some other things since, and they're nowhere near as good as that was."

"My mom is now in rehab in Asheville, North Carolina, called Stonecreek Health and Rehabilitation, and it looks like that's where she will be long-term. It's great. I highly recommend it in every way. She has been there for three weeks now. It's very good. The staff is very attentive. It's incredibly clean. They host workshops on how to maintain a facility in a very clean manner, and it's been quite a long time since they've had any Covid cases. It's very clean and bright, it isn't depressing to go there like some of the other places I toured. So, at this point I can only say good things about it, I know we're early on, but we'll see. The services are so far very, very good. It's very conveniently located in the heart of downtown Nashville. My mom likes the food a lot better than where she was for a couple of weeks before that. They have lots of activities that they offer to people."

"This facility is wonderful and I definitely recommend it to anyone. The staff was so friendly and even with such a large number of patients, they always greeted us by our first names every day. It meant a lot that they took the time to remember us personally. The food is actually good here, too! They took great care of our loved one and kept us all informed of any changes in health or plans. "

"I toured White Oak of Tryon. I'm looking for a one-bedroom apartment, and their apartments were better. They had several things that were better. They were the only ones that I saw. They were ones that had in-house laundry. I mean, a washer/dryer in the unit and a full kitchen. They had a sunroom on the ground floor and a private little garden where you could do whatever you wanted. It's really a nice facility. The people were very friendly."
