"My husband and I looked for a place to move in and we visited Western North Carolina Baptist Home. It was a beautiful and nice place. The rooms were well-kept and everything was very clean. The staff were very nice to deal with. They had activities and friends could come and attend them. "

"My mother has been at Pisgah Manor for over a month and i was suprised to hear that someone had posted a negatiove comment about the place. My mom loves it there and the staff has always been very attentive to both my questions and my mothers needs. "

"Laurels of Ashewood Manor (The Laurels of Summit Ridge) is very good and we're very happy. The staff is very good, caring, and compassionate. They're a little short staffed sometimes, but I'm still very happy with them. The grounds are beautiful and I'm about six or seven minutes away. My wife's room is beautiful. It has a carpeted floor, pictures on the wall, nice furniture, and a nice view. The food is excellent."

"My brother is in Stone Creek right now. I did see that this place had a very good rating, and so we were anxious to see it and when we saw it they had an opening and were willing to take him, so we jumped on it just to take him out of that other horrible place. They are clean and you never smell any kind of odor there. They are kind, their rooms are very well cared for and nice, and the staff is very friendly and they know the residents by name, and they take an interest in them. They are in the middle of remodeling the rooms, as a matter of fact, right now. They seem to take pride in keeping the place nice. The dining room is wonderful, they use regular dishes, and they serve them like they are in a restaurant. If somebody wants something else they'll bring it. It is really a great place. There are two people in a room, but it is big enough. It is not gigantic, but it is clean and well cared for, and it has a bathroom. They play horse shoe and they had a horse shoe competition and my brother participated in that match and he won it. They are just really good. My brother likes the food there very much. At the other place I used to bring him breakfast every day, but I don't have to here because he gets good food. "

"I went to Aston Park Health Care Center because they offer a respite care program, but they won't accept me, because I have a power chair. However, the lady there took me on a tour, discussed some of my needs, and gave me some good advice. Because I was not cognitively impaired or so physically impaired that I needed the medical care that they provide (they're also a rehabilitation center), she didn't recommend it for me. She thought that I would get easily bored and frustrated because there wouldn't be very much interaction with other people living there and they don't do many activities. They don't have a library, they don't have an activity room. Most of the people living there have disabilities that make it impossible for them to do that. They have both single and double bedrooms, but they look more like hospital rooms. It's a beautiful and well-kept place."

"My husband stayed at CarePartners Rehabilitation Hospital. They were absolutely excellent. They have an excellent rehab facility. It's large. They have every piece of equipment that is needed for a thorough rehab. The staff was very good. The facility was well cared for. Cleanliness was excellent. They have a large fireplace room where people can visit with their families. The food was pretty good. I've been to some other things since, and they're nowhere near as good as that was."

"Staff are very friendly and took good care of my father despite the shortage of staff. Sometimes I would have to tidy up his room as paper or dirt was on the floor, and Physical Therapy would leave some of their equipment behind. "

"Asheville health care center is a very clean facility, no odors. The staff are all friendly and willing to help. They go above and beyond their call of duty. Very good care all the way around. I highly recommend this facility for anyone seeking rehab or long term care!! "

"My husband is staying at the North Carolina State Veterans Home - Black Mountain. I like it because it's full of veterans, and he is a veteran. So, he doesn't have to wonder when he speaks to somebody about their background. He feels there's something in common already. I love that the hallways are so wide that you can see veterans in their wheelchairs going up and down and greeting each other. The room is huge and private. The bathroom is private. The shower is amazingly big. I think this place was built as a state-of-the-art facility for veterans, and I'm so happy my husband is in it. Every person I've met who's on staff has been friendly, knowledgeable, and professional. I was so happy when I went there and met one of them, and they told me what was going on. They know their patients well. They serve three meals a day. They have a calendar of events. They have a 70s day, a Wild Hair day, and a Western day, and they barbecued outside. They do a lot of things that make it fun for residents."

"This is a great facility when you need some high-tech medical care for your loved ones. My family member had a serious head injury and we were referred to this facility. I could not be more pleased with the staff because they were so informed about the specialty of Neurology and explained things to us in a way that actually made sense to the layman! I definitely recommend this place to others. "

"Givens Highland Farms looks very homey. The landscaping is beautiful. It seems to have a very harmonious design. The staff was excellent, very caring, and understanding. When we were there, they were doing some knitting and crafty type of activities. A friend of mine lives there. She likes the food and thinks it's good. It's a very friendly and senior-oriented environment. It's worth the value, if you have the money."

"I cannot say enough good things about this facility. The staff goes above and beyond to give extraordinary care not just to the residents but to the families as well. Through the time my father was there the staff took exceptional care of him. This is the cleanest facility I have ever been in. It is truly top notch. I would give them 10 stars if I could. "

"I know some people who are at Deerfield. It was fine. It looked fine and the people that were there all said it was lovely and it seemed to be lovely if you like that sort of thing. My impression though was that it was too big. The rooms looked very nice and fine, no problems. Everything was lovely. They have apartments and houses. They were all large, spacious and nice. They have lots of building. Deerfield was just too big. The dining room was lovely but the food was boring. If I have to eat there everyday for the rest of my life, I would just give up. There was just old people food. However, activities were great. They have loads and loads of activities. They have buses to take you wherever you want to go. All of that was great. "
