"This is a very good rehab center. The rooms are single private and roomy. The facility is clean and does not smell like a nursing home. The nursing staff is caring and very knowledgeable. The axillary staff are kind and friendly. I would highly recommend this facility if you need rehab. They offer various activities that you can choose to join as you are able. "

"My husband was at Givens Health Center. Although they have a beautiful community, the rehab facilities were nowhere near up to par as the others. It's not large enough and the equipment that they have there is very minimal. There's a lot of people living there in addition to people rehabbing there, and I would have to give them high marks for the activities they had. They brought people in to play the piano. They did bingo and they had card games. Most of the people that were in there were quite elderly. I ate dinner there a couple of times when my husband was there and it was very, very good food, something that you would get in the restaurant. They took them to rehab every day, but I felt that the rehab facility was so tiny, and there were so many people using it. I wasn't happy with the rehab, but the staff was very good. The other thing I liked about it was, if you got hungry in between meals, there was a very large menu of small snacks that people could choose to have brought to your room, everything from cookies, to Jell-O, to pie, to desserts, to ice cream. They had that 24 hours a day, which I thought was really good, because sometimes people wake up in the middle of the night and they can't sleep. You can just call the nurse and tell them to bring you some Jell-O or a candy bar or whatever. The facility was well cared for. There were lots of things to do for people that were staying there. They had church available and entertainment coming in. It has a huge retirement community attached to that and covers many acres of grounds. They are beautiful over there."

"My mother was diagnosed with having Epilepsy back in march she was in out of drifferent Nursing Home Rehabs. Again in August she had another seizure she was in the hospital then sent to Golden Living for rehab. When they were told she has familial mediterranean fever which is an hereditary illness past down thru generations from parent to child etc. It's not an easy illness to treat it can cause other problems as well....The nurses there took good care of my mother showed respect, compassion, caring an love.... The Therapist there stayed on top of therapy with her they took time to work with her , not push her hard.. Which I liked. The CNA's there were very good to her... There were several that we became close with. These men an women became another family to us.. On drifferent days they had church, bingo, crafts, sitting outside , Parties there was always something going on there , it kept mom busy.There is an hair dresser whom is also the activity director .Energy in Golden Living very good. It didn't feel like some places she's been into. When people ask where my mother was I tell them at the best place. Golden Living. I would high recommend them "

"Over the years, our family has used several facilities to take care of our loved ones, with that being said, I have never seen the professionalism and compassion that we have found at Emerald Ridge. The staff is simply delightful and work very hard to meet the needs of the patients and even the family members. Where other facilities are short staffed, Emerald Ridge is not. The staff seem to love their jobs and do it well; always having a kind word and smile on their face. There is no odor, unlike other places we have been. If I had known about this place before we would have placed all our family here. I cannot praise them enough for the great lengths they go to to make my mother happy and very well taken care of. It's so nice and relieving to come in to visit and catch my mom smiling and laughing with these cnas and nurses. They treat her just like she is their mom. Finally, I can rest easy knowing I have made the best decision I could."

"hello, six years ago I had a stroke and blood clot in my brain,leg. my experience was very good I felt right at home. they let my dog come visit every day. I had a private room, but during my stay I got lonely and requested a room mate. they put me in with a very sweet woman named Ruth her family was just as nice.the only bad thing i can say bad about this facility is the bathing, I was never asked to take a bath so I hand bathed in the bathroom sink. which wasn't so bad for me but for patients bed ridden I hope they got baths.. "

"Today my sister called to let me know that nurse Sally went beyond and above to tend to my sister Irene who has been at The Oaks at Sweeten Creek for about 7 years. Being that I live in San Antonio, Texas I am not able to check on her like my sister there in NC, so she gives me updates on Irene. It really touched both our hearts that Sally has so much compassion and cares about the residents there. You will know that your love one is in good hands under Sally's supervision. "

"My mother recently completed rehab at Pisgah Manor. The care she received was excellent! We are so grateful for all the staff. The facility and her room were clean and we found all of the staff to be very helpful. We are so glad that mom got the therapy she needed and is now back home. We highly recommend this facility."

"Flesher's Fairview Health Care Center is great. It's like a third-generation-owned facility. They're truly and genuinely caring, they take time with my dad and us to explain things, and they're very patient with him because he has dementia really bad. They're really good. They've got nice, spacious, and clean rooms. Some rooms allow you to bring furniture in or they'll furnish them for you. There are constant activities and they have big rooms set up with equipment. I've seen a group of people in wheelchairs doing activities. It's more of a skilled nursing. They take them out on trips and have a big library. I'm at peace with my dad being there. I know they're taking care of him."

"My short stay was really pleasant the staff was wonderful the PT folks were great. I came home in much better shape than I had been in a long time. "I also liked Beystone and that's where I will send my mom if she ever gets bedridden and start feeling downhill. They have good food, good care. It's a smaller facility, there are only 50 beds but I've heard really good things about them. It's warm, friendly, cozy, clean, and attentive. The interior was clean and comfortably and nicely updated. The exterior looked a little sad like a 1960s architecture building so it wasn't real great to look at on the outside but on the inside, it was good. My husband just ran into somebody whose loved one is at Beystone and they loved it. The staff was very friendly. The admissions person wasn't in so the director took me around and stayed in touch with me and was available on his cell phone. They were very accommodating to move mom right over there from the hospital. They weren't as big, they weren't as polished and they didn't have the garden but they're not as big and facility-like feeling. "

"I went there because their physical therapy dept. was the best out of all the other rehab. centers. I was given PT twice a day & I highly recommend it. Also I enjoyed attending the group activities when I wasn't in therapy especially bingo, bowling & others. I enjoyed socializing with the other residents that were in the group activities. All the staff was friendly & very helpful. I enjoyed having the therapy students assist me with adl's such as showers & shampoos. The therapy team were very knowledgeable & helped me reach my goals & gain my independence back in order to return home."

"My husband is staying at the North Carolina State Veterans Home - Black Mountain. I like it because it's full of veterans, and he is a veteran. So, he doesn't have to wonder when he speaks to somebody about their background. He feels there's something in common already. I love that the hallways are so wide that you can see veterans in their wheelchairs going up and down and greeting each other. The room is huge and private. The bathroom is private. The shower is amazingly big. I think this place was built as a state-of-the-art facility for veterans, and I'm so happy my husband is in it. Every person I've met who's on staff has been friendly, knowledgeable, and professional. I was so happy when I went there and met one of them, and they told me what was going on. They know their patients well. They serve three meals a day. They have a calendar of events. They have a 70s day, a Wild Hair day, and a Western day, and they barbecued outside. They do a lot of things that make it fun for residents."

"This is a great facility when you need some high-tech medical care for your loved ones. My family member had a serious head injury and we were referred to this facility. I could not be more pleased with the staff because they were so informed about the specialty of Neurology and explained things to us in a way that actually made sense to the layman! I definitely recommend this place to others. "
