We have come to love these wonderful folks and don’t believe you could find a better place for yourself or your loved one when you need serious care. "This retirement home is a great place for my grandparents. They currently live in their own home on the premises, where they are surrounded by neighbors, all of who have served in the Methodist Church. The best thing about this place is that they have their own home and can maintain their independence, but with certain services that make us (their family) and them feel better. For example, there is a yearly full cleaning of the house. Gardening and maintenance is taken care of (unless they want to do it themseleves). In addition, there is an assisted living home right in the same complex. They are able to visit with those that are not in as good of health as they are. And, if something should happen, there are pulleys and an intercom system in their home. Should they need additional assistance, they already know the staff and can even move into the assisted living space without having to transition communities or space. They are very happy there. "

"A beautiful facility located on top of the mountain. The staff is very outgoing and caring. Under new management with positive changes. Ongoing renovations since February 2024. The variety of food is fantastic! Modified diets including vegetarian menu. Affordable room rates compared to other private pay communities."

"My grandmother was at Marjorie McCune Assisted Living. The thing that rubbed me the wrong way was that their new administrator never returned my call, and she would just have other people get in touch with me when I really wanted to talk to her. I don't want to give her a bad review, I'm sure she was busy, but I never actually got to talk to her. I also can't say I could give them the fairest review because they did not specialize in memory care. They only did what they could, and they couldn't do everything that my grandmother would need them to do because of her condition. The assisted living there was great once my grandmother had her own little cottage on the property. They had a housekeeper, a nurse, a PT, and all the people would come into her house, and she was really happy over there. Then they started to notice that she would leave the stove on and other things that were a danger to herself, so they moved her into a room which was smaller than her bedroom. It was a shared room with someone else, they had one shared bathroom, and there was hardly any room to do anything in there. None of us were really thrilled about her new place. It was a very tiny room, and she was paying a lot for it. It's a good place for people to be living in an assisted kind of way; however, I wouldn't recommend it to anyone for long-term care. It's OK if you want $5,000 a month for one single studio room, but if you can't afford it and you need better care at the same time, then that would make things really difficult. I would just recommend that people should know that it's not really a memory care facility at all. The biggest problem there was that they had so many residents and so many employees, and with that number of employees coming in and out every day you're bound to get COVID. It just didn't seem like a home, it just seemed like a temporary place to be, and yet that was my grandmother's home, and none of us really liked that. They had activities, they had decent food, and the staff was really sweet. However, the facility's layout, even for me, was kinda confusing. They had these really long hallways filled with people in just about every direction, and for somebody who has dementia or Alzheimer's, you would really get lost."

"Care Partners Adult Day services is a wonderful facility. The staff is loving and caring, and knows how to handle recalcitrant patrons. They provide all kinds of activities during the course of a day--veteran's groups, Bible study, singing, dancing, exercise, etc. My husband was very nervous about going the first time, but wihin an hour, he was comfortable and enjoying himself, and ready to go back the next day. He loves going, and misses it when it's not one of his scheduled days. I highly reccommend this facility "

"My sister moved to Pisgah Villa. They encourage people to use their freedom. They also have a lot to do there as far as exercise rooms. The people there are very nice. It's a smaller place than the one she was in. They have a nice swimming pool. They teach yoga classes. They have art classes. I've never eaten there, but my sister told me she thought the food was good. They had a huge dining room with tables and chairs. They take them shopping once a week and assist them if they need an outside doctor. The facility has one psychiatrist and an on-call doctor."

"We visited Givens Estates and it's very, very nice. It's a little expensive, but offers a great deal of amenities, so we kind of look forward to it. Facilities were great and the options were great too. It's just the expenses were a little bit of a challenge."

"I am so grateful my mom is in the care of Flesher's Fairview staff. The staff there are compassionate, caring for each resident as if they were their own loved one. The staff on the business side are professional, yet very caring and helpful resident family members. "

"Governor's Bend has been such a wonderful place, and everyone has been so very kind to my father for the last two years. I appreciate every staff member and nurse so much. We could not ask for a better home for him. It was heaven-sent when our family needed it the most!"

"I toured Trinity View. Its location is relatively quiet. The people seem very happy. The staff seems excellent. The common areas seem very good."

"The cleanliness and their professionalism are few of the factors is why Heather Glen is my choice for my mother. Their Director is extremely informative. She introduces me to all the employees even those in-charged of the kitchen. It is a smaller community as compare from where she was and they are able to give more care and observe what she is doing on a daily basis. They manage her medicine and we know she is taking it properly. The food is excellent. The housekeeping is really good. Everybody is just in a cheerful mood. It is located where it has a good view of the mountains and in a peaceful setting. All the amenities are there and they do a lot of different things with the people like boat rides, bingo, cookouts and they keep them entertained. They keep them active as much as possible. The constantly watch and evaluate them and they inform me if there is anything out of the line and needs to be addressed with my mom. I am extremely happy where she's at and she seems to be more pleased also. "

"Mom can do her own laundry there and they have activities for the residents to do. Mitchell House is really nice with hard wood floors. It's just a nice quiet place. My mom just loves all the girls there. They take good care of her and keep checking up on her. They have a good staff at Mitchell House. My mom loves the food. I have eaten there twice with her and the food is always good. "

"Place is well kept and always clean. Admissions is prompt on answering any questions that I had regarding the facility and process of getting a family member into the facility."
