Assisted Living Communities in Greeneville, TN

"Signature Lifestyles of Rogersville Assisted Living seems to do well. It was a no nonsense place. They weren't as nice as the other places, but it was a whole lot cheaper. But the best thing I liked about it is you can have your own studio room or one-bedroom. They were just as nice as a $6,000 a month facility, except that place you can have your very own nice apartment that was only about $4,000 a month. The overall place wasn't quite as nice. They didn't have as many rugs on the floor as mostly they have laminate flooring, which is cleaner than rugs. It just wasn't quite as comfy, but it certainly wasn't draconian. But by the same token, they had all the same facilities, they had doctors coming in and out of there, and they had a bus service. So they had everything. It was clean, but it just wasn't as nice, and I noticed they didn't have quite as many staff people there with the size of the facility. It's still in a quiet area of Rogersville, which is really quite nice. The lady that's running the place is a no nonsense woman, and there's no double speak in there. She's like, "This is what we got, and this is how much, and this is what happens." Ask a question, you get an answer. She was happy to give me the complete info on the place, prices, and all the other stuff. They had a big common room. There were a lot of people out and about, and there were no masks. There were people in wheelchairs that were coming in, and going out on the front steps, and out in the courtyard without any problem from the staff. They seemed to be enjoying themselves, so I think it looked to me like the kind of place you call home rather than being locked up."

"Governor's Bend has been such a wonderful place, and everyone has been so very kind to my father for the last two years. I appreciate every staff member and nurse so much. We could not ask for a better home for him. It was heaven-sent when our family needed it the most!"

"I think Wellington Manor Assisted Living is going to be a wonderful fit for my husband. The memory care was small and so they were very attentive. It's lovely and quiet. All the people were just wonderful. The least thing I liked about them was they have a waitlist, but that's also a good thing because it shows there's a demand for that facility. The dining area was very nice. The staff were all very kind and they have been there for a while. So that says that they enjoy their workplace, too. Several of them have been there for over five years."

"My mother is living at Regency Retirement Village - Morristown. They check on them every two hours, regardless. Everything is pretty much on the same schedule every day. I don't have anything to say negatively because she's only been living there a month, and things are going pretty good. As for the staff, they're very professional all the time. The building is very clean. Everything is pretty good. For activities, they have church service every Sunday, they have all kinds of different craft things you can go to, and they have Bible study, which my mom loves."

"My brother was in Life Care Center of Gray. The rooms were very nice and clean. The atmosphere was very nice. The staff was very nice. I would recommend it because they are really nice. It is a clean facility. The staff that work there are caring people. The food wasn't all that great. "

"This is my 5th year coming here, my caregiver goes on vacation for a couple of months, so I come here while she is gone. I have R/A, so I need help dressing and taking a shower. While I'am here I have Physical Therapy, The therapists are very good, When I came here five years ago I could barely walk, with there help I have progressed and now I can use a walker to get around. I have Occupational Therapy and Physical Therapy. the Occupational Therapist are getting my upper body stronger. The Physical Therapist are getting my lower body stronger. I had a Hip Replacement done on Feb. 3 and came here for rehab. It is going great my hip doesn't hurt at all and is getting stronger every day. The Nurses here are very good, they stay on top of my medications, I take a lot every day. If I have a question about medications they give me an answer right away. They also have church on Sunday's, they have a hairdresser on Saturday's they have country singers come in. They also have Bingo. and they have an ice cream parlor, it's not open everyday, but when it is there is a line. The food has improved since I first came here. If you don't like what they are serving you can ask for the alternative, or you can ask for soup and a sandwich. They are very accommodating. So when my caregiver goes away this year I'll be taking my vacation at the Heritage Center."

"My grandmother is now in Princeton Transitional Care and Assisted Living, it's nice. It's newer, they offer 24-hour nursing care, and they do the meals. I liked it because it was all one price, while in a lot of places, it's like a la carte so there are a lot of different fees for different things that they do. And here, everything is already included like help with dressing, showers, and all of that stuff is all included in one price. It's not like where they'll suddenly start adding additional costs as they need additional care, so I like that option. They have different room options. She's in a studio apartment, so it's one big room and she has a nice-size bathroom that's handicap accessible, with a walk-in shower, and a nice built-in seat. And then it has a little kitchenette with almost a full-size refrigerator, they provide the refrigerator and a microwave. There's a lot of cabinet space and a little sink, it's a nice little kitchenette. All of them have windows looking either outside or into the courtyard. They also offer two rooms and stuff like that, but she's just in a studio. The staff has been very attentive and very helpful. When I call and check on her, I'll call the nurse's station, and I've always been able to get through to somebody every time I've called. The food smells and looks good but I haven't tried any of it. On Wednesday nights, they do wine and music, then they have a church service every Sunday, and they had a whole calendar of activities. They do things like cards and a lot of different stuff."

"My mother is here. It has a very nice layout. It's bright and open and has a lot of light. It's very clean. There are no odors or smells. The staff is very attentive to the residents. It's a pleasant place to be and I think my mom will like being there. She's not been there long, but they told me they have daily devotions, bingo, games, and things to keep the residents entertained and active. The dining area is very nice, but I have not seen what type of food they provide for the residents. The staff is very responsive and excellent and I get all my questions answered. They're very good to work with. It smells very nice."

"My mother has been in Mars Hill Retirement Community for a week now. It has been wonderful. It's a small assisted living community affiliated with a university. I know my mother will be taken care of physically, emotionally, and intellectually. There has been very little turnover in staff. The staff is committed to what they're doing there. The prices are incredibly reasonable for what they provide. My mother has a 1-bedroom apartment with a kitchenette. They also offer studio and 2-bedroom apartments. They have all types of activities from mind games to bingo. They have a library and beauty salon services. Because they're connected with Mars Hill University, they have access to the whole library holdings. Residents can check out books from their library. They also live stream guest speakers and musical guests at the university to the residents. Worship services are available there onsite on Sundays. I saw them playing bingo in the hallway and all the residents were wearing masks. It was actually situated where a staff member is calling the numbers outside the room of a resident who is bedridden, so that she could also play. My mother was quarantined at first and they brought in puzzles, books, and things for her to do in her room. My mother is happy with the food because she has a choice for every meal. It's less expensive than other places we looked at. They offer respite care, too. If somebody is taking care of a loved one at home and they need respite, meaning for them to go somewhere for a week or two, they also offer that service. They have furnished ready-to-go units. We moved my mother into one at first because we cannot let her stay where she had been living as it was no longer safe, and she was suffering from malnutrition and dehydration there."

"My mother was at the Village at Allandale. It was topnotch. It was wonderful. She loved it. They welcomed the family for her birthday. They let us set up a birthday dinner for her. It was a wonderful place. They also do hospice there if you need it. I think not all of them do that, so that was good. It met my mother's needs and more. It was a friendly family atmosphere. The family was welcome anytime. My mother made friends there. They rearranged the dining room. They thought people would mash and have something in common. Like the table my mom was at, it was all ladies about her age. There was a table that had men, and there was another table that had men and women. It was a home-like setting. They provided music, exercise, and chair yoga. The food was like family meals. It was good. I'd go over and eat with my mother some time with her at her table. My mother was used to her house, and so we got a double room. It was a large room. We were able to put a little sofa in there and a couple of chairs. My part of family lives near Nashville, so that way, when my brother and his family come up, we would have room for all of us. You could hang pictures on the wall. We took furniture from my mother's house to make it look homey. On the last day that I was over there, she died that night, but during that day it was COVID, and so you couldn't go in until hospice said so. I was able to give her things away to the people that work there. They were so kind to her. We really didn't need the furniture, and we gave it away to the staff that work there. That's just the relationship we had, that you felt like they're part of your family."

"My in-laws moved into The Blake at Kingsport. It's very clean and friendly, and everybody was so helpful, even the other members staying there. My mother-in-law has a queen-size bed and a chest drawer. He's got a bed and chest drawer. In the living room, he's got a full couch and a recliner. The kitchen's a good size. There's no stove, and that's great because she doesn't need to be cooking. It's very roomy. The dining area is very nice and clean. We had a good meal, and they had a lot of different choices. They do something every day, but it's pricey."

"This facility has locations all over the Tri-cities area. I visited one of the locations in Kingsport and found it to be an above average facility. Each member of the facility seemed to be a team player and communicated well with one another. In their physical therapy department you could watch the therapists taking care of the patients and rooting for them. There were always activities for the residents and participation was encouraged but not forced. Security was also of utmost concern - there were alarms on wandering patients that would go off when they were near doors or trying to get up out of their wheelchair. This is so important for the saftey of the residents and helps prevent countless accidents. "

"My mother was a patient in long term care at Life Care Center of Morristown. She was always clean, comfortable and well taken care of. The staff was amazing. Her CNA’s, nurses, wound care, social services, and everyone made sure her needs were met. I was nervous going in (because of things you hear about nursing homes) but was very grateful she had top notch care from day one. She was never just left in her room. I often found her at the nurses station or listening to a speaker / music (her preference) in a community area. The facility and staff should be commended. The staff answered questions, they were attentive, and very welcoming. Thank you Life Care for coordinating the needs of my mother with hospice at the end of her life. "
