"I liked Brookdale Colonial Heights very much. It was very clean and well apportioned. It looked like it had a lot of helpful staff. The structure looked great. The room's size was very adequate. The layout was good. It felt cozy and homelike."

"During my visit to Life Care Center of Greeneville, the receptionist welcomed me and asked me to sign in. I was there to inquire about moving my mother from another facility. After taking a tour, the admissions staff explained the process and answered all my questions. The facility is exceptionally clean!"

"Morning Pointe of Greeneville is a very nice facility. I thought that the living space for the couple was a little bit small. The people that work there were very nice and professional. The layout of the room was OK. It was just way too small. Their common areas looked very nice. They have a library area, a beauty shop, a TV area, and a dining area. They have activities, and they publish a calendar of things. I just thought they were way too expensive. They have chairs and seating outside for the residents."

"My aunt moved into Family Ministries Retirement & Assisted Living. Their representative was most helpful. Some of the promises made were not done. The staff is very friendly, but the least thing is that it's understaffed. They did the best they can do with the food. They have games, crafts, and things like that. We were hoping for more of a homey atmosphere; it's more industrial or hospital type. Things were not delivered that was promised."

"Signature Lifestyles of Rogersville Assisted Living seems to do well. It was a no nonsense place. They weren't as nice as the other places, but it was a whole lot cheaper. But the best thing I liked about it is you can have your own studio room or one-bedroom. They were just as nice as a $6,000 a month facility, except that place you can have your very own nice apartment that was only about $4,000 a month. The overall place wasn't quite as nice. They didn't have as many rugs on the floor as mostly they have laminate flooring, which is cleaner than rugs. It just wasn't quite as comfy, but it certainly wasn't draconian. But by the same token, they had all the same facilities, they had doctors coming in and out of there, and they had a bus service. So they had everything. It was clean, but it just wasn't as nice, and I noticed they didn't have quite as many staff people there with the size of the facility. It's still in a quiet area of Rogersville, which is really quite nice. The lady that's running the place is a no nonsense woman, and there's no double speak in there. She's like, "This is what we got, and this is how much, and this is what happens." Ask a question, you get an answer. She was happy to give me the complete info on the place, prices, and all the other stuff. They had a big common room. There were a lot of people out and about, and there were no masks. There were people in wheelchairs that were coming in, and going out on the front steps, and out in the courtyard without any problem from the staff. They seemed to be enjoying themselves, so I think it looked to me like the kind of place you call home rather than being locked up."

"The food is not good. Everything else is excellent. The staff and caregivers are excellent. But corn dogs and chips are not healthy meals. The meals need to be healthy. It’s very important for elderly care. I hope they hire a nutritionist. They can set guidelines for nutritional meals for the residents."

"My mother is currently a resident at Wellington. She has been for over 2 years. When my sister and I first toured the facility, we were welcomed with a very friendly staff. They were local people, with some being actual longtime friends. This was a huge factor in us choosing the facility. Mom has had consistent and quality care from the Administration, nursing, and the CNA’s. I feel having local people providing her care has been the key to making our Mom feel more comfortable and secure in her new residence. It wasn’t easy leaving her home after many years and making this her new home. My hope is she is blessed with same quality of care for the remainder of her life."

"Dominion Senior Living is nice; it has has games, patio, and a beauty shop. The food was good, and they serve three meals a day. We don’t have any trouble getting what we need. The facility is nice. "

"My mother is living at Regency Retirement Village - Morristown. They check on them every two hours, regardless. Everything is pretty much on the same schedule every day. I don't have anything to say negatively because she's only been living there a month, and things are going pretty good. As for the staff, they're very professional all the time. The building is very clean. Everything is pretty good. For activities, they have church service every Sunday, they have all kinds of different craft things you can go to, and they have Bible study, which my mom loves."

"My mother-in-law moved to Life Care Center of Gray. From my experience, the nurses have been very nice and helpful. She's in the memory care unit. They have a good security barcode entry to the door. So, no one can accidentally wander out or any of that. They gave us a code so we could visit and everything. The places are in great shape. There are no complaints there. They have it laid out like a long hallway with all their rooms. At the front, most of the residents hang out in the dining room, with plenty of tables, and they have another room that's kind of like a game room, TV room, and all that. My mother-in-law has made good friends with one already. I think the only thing that can be improved is cleanliness. The bathrooms could be cleaned a little more often or better. The staff, they've seemed very good with the residents, they've been very helpful, very patient, and they've been very great with us. They answered our questions and took the time. They inventory everything, keep a log of all that, describing everything and, not just rushing through it."

"This is my 5th year coming here, my caregiver goes on vacation for a couple of months, so I come here while she is gone. I have R/A, so I need help dressing and taking a shower. While I'am here I have Physical Therapy, The therapists are very good, When I came here five years ago I could barely walk, with there help I have progressed and now I can use a walker to get around. I have Occupational Therapy and Physical Therapy. the Occupational Therapist are getting my upper body stronger. The Physical Therapist are getting my lower body stronger. I had a Hip Replacement done on Feb. 3 and came here for rehab. It is going great my hip doesn't hurt at all and is getting stronger every day. The Nurses here are very good, they stay on top of my medications, I take a lot every day. If I have a question about medications they give me an answer right away. They also have church on Sunday's, they have a hairdresser on Saturday's they have country singers come in. They also have Bingo. and they have an ice cream parlor, it's not open everyday, but when it is there is a line. The food has improved since I first came here. If you don't like what they are serving you can ask for the alternative, or you can ask for soup and a sandwich. They are very accommodating. So when my caregiver goes away this year I'll be taking my vacation at the Heritage Center."

"My grandmother is now in Princeton Transitional Care and Assisted Living, it's nice. It's newer, they offer 24-hour nursing care, and they do the meals. I liked it because it was all one price, while in a lot of places, it's like a la carte so there are a lot of different fees for different things that they do. And here, everything is already included like help with dressing, showers, and all of that stuff is all included in one price. It's not like where they'll suddenly start adding additional costs as they need additional care, so I like that option. They have different room options. She's in a studio apartment, so it's one big room and she has a nice-size bathroom that's handicap accessible, with a walk-in shower, and a nice built-in seat. And then it has a little kitchenette with almost a full-size refrigerator, they provide the refrigerator and a microwave. There's a lot of cabinet space and a little sink, it's a nice little kitchenette. All of them have windows looking either outside or into the courtyard. They also offer two rooms and stuff like that, but she's just in a studio. The staff has been very attentive and very helpful. When I call and check on her, I'll call the nurse's station, and I've always been able to get through to somebody every time I've called. The food smells and looks good but I haven't tried any of it. On Wednesday nights, they do wine and music, then they have a church service every Sunday, and they had a whole calendar of activities. They do things like cards and a lot of different stuff."

"We took a tour for my mother-in-law. It was very bright, and welcoming, it is a very nice facility. I loved that there was a courtyard that they could walk in and out comfortably, and not worry that they would wander because it was enclosed. She has a little dog, and she could have taken her dog out to use the bathroom easily and got back to her room easily. We wouldn't have to worry that she would be walking outside, and no one knew where she would be. The person who assisted us was delightful. The place was very clean. It was very warm and inviting. There were lots of bright windows, lots of nice colors, and it smelled fresh. It was very nice."

"Mars Hill Manor Assisted Living was beautiful. This is the one that I would have wanted my grandfather to be in. They have apartment-style rooms in this place, but they could not give him the level of care that he needed. The staff was amazing. They had a beautiful dining area. They had several common areas, a game room, and a rec room. They also would transport their residents to the nearby college, and they could use the gym there, the pool, and a lot of the other college amenities. They had a library. They brought a lot of people in and were able to transport everyone to different things. They went to a football game and a baseball game. They once a week grocery shop with them. I think it was really good."
