We found a room that our sister liked and was able to be comfortable. The staff is welcoming and respectful, and is understanding of difficult behaviors. The staff always knocked at the door, which is not always done at other places. Brookdale is always clean. Our sister enjoys religious services and gospel singing. She has been unable to attend church recently, and enjoys being able to attend in the group area. We are pleased that she enjoys the food offerings, especially her nighttime treat of a peanut butter and jelly sandwich! We cannot be more pleased that she has found Brookdale, her special place to be!

My husband will be moving into Brookdale Colonial Heights. We chose this place because I like the friendliness, and he was thrilled with it. He came away saying how friendly and nice it was. He looked out the window of his room and he saw these two beautiful Japanese maple trees, and he would just love them, and there's a bird feeder there. There were several people and caregivers there, they talked with him. He's a people person so having somebody to talk to was important to him. We ate lunch with them and he was pleased, and the things that they say they offer sounds wonderful. We ate some marvelous cheese sandwiches, it tasted so good, and the potato salad was excellent. We were very well impressed. One thing that interested him was the courtyard where they can go outside and sit in there, they have a barbershop, they have a doctor and a full-time nurse.

We visited every memory care facility in the area but once we met the team at Brookdale Colonial Heights we had zero doubts on where our grandmother belonged. Brookdale felt like a family and their facility felt like a home. Now that our Granny has been at Brookdale a few months, we can say with confidence that our feelings were accurate. Brookdale Colonial Heights is a wonderful place full of tremendous caregivers and exceptionally happy residents. We are incredibly grateful to Spring, Stacie, Beverly and the rest of the dedicated staff for treating our grandmother and us like members of the family.

We were naturally concerned when we had to place our elderly family member in assisted living. But Clay, Spring and Stacey did a terrific job answering all our questions and concerns. The facility is very homelike, with nice rooms and comfortable surroundings. The staff is friendly and the caregivers do a great job keeping us informed about our loved one’s health and welfare. We are very glad we chose Brookdale.

My 95 yr old dad came to Brookdale 5 mo ago. It did not take him long to settle in and he now refers to it as his home. His 1bd apt is cozy and he loves the food and staff. The nursing dept is top notch and the admin staff are exceptional. Every employ is friendly and caring. Everyone is treated with respect. 5 stars to April, Clay, Stacy and the food staff!!’

Brookdale is an AWESOME PLACE, the staff was fantastic, the food was wonderful, my aunt was there and she gained about 25 lbs. while there. She was treated with total respect. She was taken care of extremely well. If I had to go to assisted living, this is where I would choose. Very thankful to the complete staff for there treatment of my Aunt.

My brother moved into Brookdale Colonial Heights. They have been excellent. They have an excellent staff, and they do take care of the patients. They have nurses, the people on the floor are fantastic, and they helped my brother a lot. I did not have a meal, but from what my brother has said, they have very good food, and it's very nutritious. They have gotten him to eat again, and he eats three meals a day. That's something that hasn't happened in quite some time. They have done an excellent job with him. They're trying to get him calm from the hospital visit; they're talking to him and they're walking with him. The main thing is they have him eating three meals a day and taking his medication, which he wasn't taking before. They have a lunch room, two sitting rooms, an outside walkway in the center of the building, and exercise.

My mother will be going into the memory care at Brookdale Colonial Heights. The staff was very nice and very informative. It just seemed more close knit in the memory care part. The people there seemed more alert, like they were having a really good time there. The facility was very nice and very clean. Everyone there was very nice and friendly. The rooms were very nice and very spacious. The smallest one had 306 square feet, so that's a pretty good-size room. It's very easy to get to. It's on a dead-end road, so you won't have traffic coming in and out there. I got to try some banana bread, and it was delicious.

I visited Brookdale Colonial Heights in person. I saw both their assisted living and memory care. I think it is a great community and it is really nice place for seniors. It is just a wonderful community with employees that are happy and cheerful. I think they do a wonderful job. They have card games, they have quilting for assisted ladies, they have different games that they play, they have bingo, and they have wonderful entertainment at different times for them. They are really a nice community. They're friendly, very warm, compassionate people, and they do a wonderful job.

Brookdale Colonial Heights was a very nice and clean place but I didn't see any activity going on and I went 2 or 3 times at different times of the day. I didn't see any interaction with the patients. The room I saw was great. I planned to put my dad there but they turned him down and I never got a straight answer as to why. The dining area seemed really nice. It's not an all-inclusive fee though which I wasn't satisfied with. They had medicine management and they do physical therapy on-site.

I loved Brookdale Colonial Heights, but my mother can't afford it. I loved the girl who talked to me. They had a lot of amenities. I looked at the assisted living and the memory care. They had studios and 1-bedroom apartments, and some of them had a refrigerator. They had a rehab and activity room, activities for memory care, and a nice dining room. There's not much parking, but the facility itself was really good. I didn't like the memory care unit, but the rest of it was great.

We have been very pleased with Brookdale Colonial Heights' care. They have gone above and beyond to help us. My mother's room is always clean. It is perfect for her. She has not participated in activities, but we get a calendar each month, and there are a lot of things that are going on. There is a garden area, an open living room area, a gym, a wellness room, and a beauty shop. What we have been impressed about the most is the administrator. It is quick and easy to access her if you need anyone at any time. They have always gotten back to us very fast.

They insisted to put my sister in memory care at Brookdale Colonial Heights. I knew she was not a memory care qualified patient at this point. I found out that the only opening they had was for memory care, so they want to put her there. They took me through the facility, and it was lovely. Everybody was well taken care of, but she was not ready for it.

I was really impressed with here and with the director. I was able to eat there and the food was delicious. I like the rooms. I was also impressed because they had a pool table and my step dad likes to play pool. They also have an artist that does things. They have a lot of regular outings and different things that they do. It's just nice place to live. The prices were good too.

It was very nice. It was clean and attractive. They have two different wings, one is assisted living and the other one is memory care. So if you needed a more higher level of care and needed a locked-down facility for safety, you don't have to move to another facility, you can just transfer to their memory care wing. The living environment was fine and pleasant but the physical design reminded me more of a nursing home. Their rooms were fine but it was a little smaller for a room for two people. We wanted something that would cater both my parents. However, they have a nice dining room and a lot of great appropriate activities. Also their staff was very accommodating and helpful. They follow up quite frequently after the visit inviting my parents to come and do things, to get the feel of it.
