I toured Asheville Geriatric. I needed a memory care unit, and they didn't have one. They also were sort of on the older side. The amenities were not as good for the patients. Like for the room, each of the patients had their own room, but they didn't have a bathroom in their room. The staff was very nice.

I went and saw Richmond Hill Assisted Living. I am not a harsh critic whatsoever of people, and I try to give the benefit of the doubt, but this place is kind of bad. They don't lock the doors, and it's kind of like in the ghetto. It just had a really creepy vibe, and it just didn't feel very safe. The upkeep was okay, but the insides felt like a prison. The rooms were individual, and there were no bathrooms or anything. It was just like a square, and it was really dark. They had bathrooms and showers in the hallway, so it was kind of rough. I don't think they have a patio or garden. The rooms were very small, too. The people were nice, but I didn't see that many people. They weren't necessarily trying to sell me on the place either, and that's okay. The residents were nice, and I saw them sitting out there. It did not look like an assisted living facility. They're like separate buildings put together. I couldn't find parking, either. There was no sign, and there was no direction.
