"Harmony at Reynolds Mountain was more modern and up-to-date. It had a fresher look to it and the community was more to our taste. It would be a community that I could see myself in down the road. We only saw an apartment and we liked that they had the option of a continuum of care on-site and that was important to us. They also provide transportation. Looked like they had a nice range of activities such as classes and things of interest."

"I go to College Walk Retirement Community a couple of times a week because I take things to my dad who lives there. They really take good care of him, and I'm very pleased with them. The staff members are very competent and very friendly. The place smells nice and is always clean, and the apartments are very nice, too. Dad has a room, which is big enough for him. He got a bed, a couch, a desk for his computer, a TV, a nice-sized bathroom, and a microwave. They also have a swimming pool and a library, and they used to bring in dogs once every two weeks, too."

"Kingsbridge is an outstanding example of a facility where intent, caring, and continual education results in assisted living that benefits everyone. The staff from top to bottom exhibit what Alzheimer's care should look like. "

"Both of my parents were residents at Tores Home. My mom had Parkinsons Disease. My dad had diabetes and heart problems. I can't say enough about the loving care both of them received at Tore's Home. I never had to worry about them. They always received exceptional care. My parents were originally in another assisted living facility in Brevard. The care was limited and we had to hire private care to supplement the lack of service. Tore's Home was completely different. My parents received the very best of care without the added cost of private care givers. Both my parents loved it there - and the people who worked there. They stayed at Tore's Home right up until the days they passed. They never had to leave their "home". They had a beautiful room that overlooked the mountains, The food was always good (my dad loved it). My dad was 98 when he finally passed. My mom was in her 90s. I know they wouldn't lived that long if it hadn't been for Tore's Home."

"I like Cedar Mountain House and would recommend it to others with family members who need help with their medicines, meals, showers and such. The building is clean and did not smell like an old folks' home. I liked the meal I had (grilled chicken and mixed vegetables). The staff was courteous and genuinely concerned. I found it to be a peaceful and rather quiet place. And it was affordable. We will seriously consider it for our mother when she is ready for assisted living. "

"I don't do reviews often but realized this would have helped me when I was searching. My father was a memory care resident at the Landings of Mill River, he passed away in July. Prior to getting there he was a resident at a large national chain of assisted living facilities for about four years. I had no complaints at the previous place but when I got to the Landings of Mills River I saw another level of care. The staff was attentive, caring and on top of my father's needs. They are focused on not only his comfort and his physical health, but also his mental health by engaging him in daily activities, leading to a 'happier dad'. The physical therapist was spectacular, such a kind, patient man. The nurses were beyond good, always focused on the well being of those under their care. The price, compared to the national chain, was much better, in this case I paid less, my father got better care and I slept easier knowing I had found the right place for my dad. The building is brand new, the facilities are excellent. I recommend the Landings of Mills River. Pat K"

"We went to see Cardinal Care Center. Room was clean and moderate. It was not too spacious, and it was just right. The staff was very nice and friendly. The dining area was fine. The residents looked fine, and they were friendly. "

"First and foremost - the care given to my mom was EXCEPTIONAL! The nurses, pcts, activities director, residential care coordinator, even the director of the facility, participated in caring for and loving her. The facility is a lovely "home" feeling with a beautiful, large covered front porch looking over a lovely park like setting. My mom was in a large room that was furnished (we could bring her own if we wanted.) She would participate in the activities as much as she could (with progressing dementia) and was happy to be there. I really can't say enough GOOD about this facility because the PEOPLE there CARE!"

"I moved my mom into Cherry Springs about 2 months ago and it has been great so far. She was living at home with me and I started to feel I was doing her an injustice as I juggled my family and her care. Since moving in she has gotten involved in activities been more social and just seems overall happy. It is an older building but the staff is fantastic as you can tell they are truly caring and attentive. "

"The tour at Lake Point Landing has been very good. The staff was very welcoming, open, and thorough with the review, and answered all our questions. It was a tough choice. Lake Point Landing is well known to us because we have friends there, but when we started looking, it looked like there might be a two-year waitlist. But everything about the place appealed to us and the food was very good."

"The cleanliness and their professionalism are few of the factors is why Heather Glen is my choice for my mother. Their Director is extremely informative. She introduces me to all the employees even those in-charged of the kitchen. It is a smaller community as compare from where she was and they are able to give more care and observe what she is doing on a daily basis. They manage her medicine and we know she is taking it properly. The food is excellent. The housekeeping is really good. Everybody is just in a cheerful mood. It is located where it has a good view of the mountains and in a peaceful setting. All the amenities are there and they do a lot of different things with the people like boat rides, bingo, cookouts and they keep them entertained. They keep them active as much as possible. The constantly watch and evaluate them and they inform me if there is anything out of the line and needs to be addressed with my mom. I am extremely happy where she's at and she seems to be more pleased also. "

"We visited Carolina Village and looked at the rooms. The rooms were spacious, more spacious than what you pay for. Everything in this facility was nice though. Their staff was nice. They also have everything in there in terms of activities. However, we can't afford this facility. Everything was expensive. My husband did not like it too. "

"My mother was at Tore's Home #21. They were great and it had a homey environment. They cared for their clients and they were attentive. I was impressed. She was more relaxed and it was quieter than where she was. They had activities, a large TV room, nice private rooms, a big kitchen, and a dining area. The food was commercially brought in, but you can keep the food in the refrigerator and the cabinets. The meals seemed nicely prepared and for those who can, they sit around the dining room table. The clients seemed to be there a long time. It's cost effective compared to other places."

"Mountain View is an old building, but you feel like home when you walk through the door! I had a family member here and I wouldn’t have of placed them anywhere else. The staff at Advent Health Hospital,Henderson county DSS and several people in the community raved on the staff before she was placed their. I applaud Sydney and Crystal for running the facility so well. Thank you Mountain View! "
