"It was absolutely beautiful. Everybody that I met was just wonderful. I loved it. They were just nice. The people seemed very happy and everything just great to me. The rooms were good sized. It felt like I was at home. It felt open and fun. I was so impressed. They have a game area and a place to have little get-togethers and little parties and things like that."

"Oakview Park was a beautiful facility. They just did not meet my mother-in-law's needs. The grounds were nice and the apartment was about the same size as everywhere else. The community fee was very expensive too. The marketing director or person didn't seem to communicate with the director of the facility well over some things that we had talked about, because when I went back for a view of the whole facility, the director had no clue what I was talking about. The food looked delicious though, the dining room was very nice, and I observed that they had a cookout for Father's Day."

"My wife liked it. It was a little bit better than the others we saw, they accept pets, and the residents get good care there. Seneca is a very nice town. The one that showed us around was very nice, showed us all the apartments, answered all our questions, and everything. They had a place available. However, my wife changed her mind, but I would go there in a minute. They had the usual amenities. They take you to the doctors and take you to where you have to go. They will drive you to whatever is happening."

"Approximately four weeks ago, we moved my mother-in-law in a secured section of Foothills Manor. This section is for their Alzheimer's patients. We got her in a private room, which is very spacious. It has a nice bath. Everything is very lively and open. I have not actually eaten any of the food, but when we visited her, she says it is pretty good. She is happy being in that facility. "

"My tour at Clemson Heritage Senior Living was nice. The room that they showed me was also very nice and the person who gave the tour was very pleasant. She couldn't answer all the questions, but that wasn't her position and she was just asked to do the tour since it was a Saturday. Their food smelled good but I didn't eat there, their residents were having lunch when we got there. They had different activities, they had a hair salon and common areas for when residents don't want to eat in the dining area so they can eat there instead. The place and the rooms were clean, they just need more closet space. I didn't see anything wrong and everyone we talked to was pleasant."

"This community is newly renovated. It is a cozy atmosphere. The staff was friendly, understanding, and helpful from start to finish. I was impressed with the amenities especially all the options of floor plans. It was an obvious choice for my family and the salesperson made the entire process easy because of their knowledge, compassion, and communication. "

"My dad moved to Six Mile Retirement Center and he really enjoys it. It's a small community, they really take care of my dad, and the nurses and staff are very nice. The only thing is that they only have one phone, so it's hard to get a hold of them when you have to. For the most part, they answer, but you have to call several times. Other than that, it's great. Most of the staff members are very nice, very personable, when I call they're always joking with my dad. There's only one person that isn't friendly, but other than that, everybody is really nice. I have not been there because of COVID, but he said that he has his own TV in his room and he's not sharing a room with anybody. He says that the food is fine; he's not picky though."

"I toured Dominion Senior Living of Anderson, and it's been very good so far. We have not moved my mom into the facility yet. We move in tomorrow. I haven't found any other place that compares to it. We haven't moved in, so we haven't experienced the activities. Some of the activities they have are the typical assisted living activities such as bingo, social events, and cookouts. They also take people to gardens, shopping, and outings. We did sample the food there. It was chicken and dumplings, and it was very good. It is a relatively new facility. I believe it's about three years old, and it is very, very, very clean and very well maintained. It was very good."

"My father is at Garden House. Has been there since 2015. This place is A++++++++all the way. The rooms are spacious and I can't say enough about the staff. They are so caring, friendly and I always walk through the front door to smiles from all. They have activities all through the day. Absolutely the best community in Anderson SC."

"Excellent staff! My father-in-law is treated with so much love and respect. And each time we visit we are greeted by name and often by hugs! They offer plenty of activities and take such excellent care of the residents. Rooms are clean and comfortable. I cannot say enough wonderful things about Clary!"

"I'm currently at Wilkinson Care Center. This is a very nice facility. If you want to eat in your room, they'll bring your meals to you. If not, you can go to the dining room. This is a very nice facility because of the people that work here, they're so concerned with everything about you. They check on you and they make sure if you need assistance that you get assistance. It is just a nice facility. My room is like an efficiency apartment. I have a small kitchen. I have a microwave and a sink in it, and I have a small refrigerator. In the bigger room is my furniture that I brought with me. I have a little dining room table and two chairs. I have two chest drawers. When my husband was in this room with me, we had a queen-sized bed, but since he's not here, I've gone to a twin bed. I make quilts and I have a little place where I can sew now so that I could bring my hobby with me. They have some rooms where you can have an extra bedroom. So if your grandchildren would come, they could spend the night with you. They have two-bedroom apartments. We had Silver Sneakers. We had one day where we did exercise, and even people in wheelchairs would come and exercise their arms and everything. We always have puzzles in a little room down there. It's kind of like a little sitting room, but it's got plenty of tables. We always have puzzles where anybody who likes to do puzzles can come and work on them. We have a little gym with some exercise equipment, and then we have the larger dining hall. Breakfast is at 7:00, lunch is at 11:00 and dinner is at 4:00. That's a little early for me for every one of those. Their workers worked from 7:00 to 7:00, so I know that's why they put that on there so they could get through with the dinner things before it was time for them to go home. But I'm very happy here. The staff are very good. They have an activity director. They raised the price about three months ago for the first time in four years, so that sounds very good to me. According to other places I checked, this is about the cheapest price you can get for what you get out of it."

"We chose Foothills Retirement Community for my father because they have assisted living, memory care, rehab, and skilled nursing all in the same grounds. He's in memory care now and if he has a medical issue, they have a nurse practitioner on the property that can take a look at him, or he can go straight into their rehab or skilled nursing facility if needed. They have continuity of care. The staff is excellent. They've got really good food. The rooms are a little small, but it can accommodate everything he has. Everything else is very good. They take them out a couple times a week and have music come in. They're always busy."

"I moved my mother to The Vernada and I find it as A-plus. They don't advertise, but I have to wait from a long waiting list to get my mom in there. It is a very small, private facility and only has a dozen members who live there. It is not like a hospital setting and it is a step above the assisted living. The rooms are much larger than normal. They have gourmet food. They have a program director who plans the activities. "

"We had my mother booked to go to Cannon Wood. It is a great place for anyone who wants to retire. It’s a really nice place, but it cannot handle people that have any mental problems, like Alzheimer’s or dementia yet, and my mother does have some dementia problems. I would recommend that place for anybody that needs assisted living because they have great food, activities, and go places, but it is a nice place. I thought the staff and the administrator were really good. All of the nurses I saw or dealt with, the ones that can administer the medications and everything, were very upbeat. "
