"I toured Trinity View. Its location is relatively quiet. The people seem very happy. The staff seems excellent. The common areas seem very good."

"The cleanliness and their professionalism are few of the factors is why Heather Glen is my choice for my mother. Their Director is extremely informative. She introduces me to all the employees even those in-charged of the kitchen. It is a smaller community as compare from where she was and they are able to give more care and observe what she is doing on a daily basis. They manage her medicine and we know she is taking it properly. The food is excellent. The housekeeping is really good. Everybody is just in a cheerful mood. It is located where it has a good view of the mountains and in a peaceful setting. All the amenities are there and they do a lot of different things with the people like boat rides, bingo, cookouts and they keep them entertained. They keep them active as much as possible. The constantly watch and evaluate them and they inform me if there is anything out of the line and needs to be addressed with my mom. I am extremely happy where she's at and she seems to be more pleased also. "

"Amongst the places I have visited for my mother, my favorite was Arbor Terrace. It was a beautiful building and it was very clean. They have a program that seemed very professional and well done. Their rooms were great. They were spacious and clean. The staff appeared to be taking very good care of their patients. Also they seemed to be very kind. However, they told me that they are not allowed to push wheelchair with patients in them. They said patients have to self-propel their wheelchairs. That is the reason why mother couldn't go there because sometimes she has to be pushed. They said it was a state law but no one I've talked to about this has ever heard of that before. I don't know what's the deal with that, but that's why she is not going there. I would recommend this place if the person is more independent and not likely to be in a wheelchair. "

"Givens Estates is really nice. It is up on the hill. There's great walking trails. There is good group bird watching. It's really pleasant. There's the university neighborhood plus the city neighborhood, so there's kind of a mixture of café and restaurants and export and import stores. They got pretty sophisticated staff too. The place is relatively expensive, so there are a lot of people with really lively minds, and they're physically lively too. They have class, which is a very challenging kind of sophisticated dance class, so it is for people want to stay in shape. There is more than just balance for the elderly there. There's real program going on. People I talked to likes bird watching walks; they're active, and they're probably in their 80s. "

"I don't do reviews often but realized this would have helped me when I was searching. My father was a memory care resident at the Landings of Mill River, he passed away in July. Prior to getting there he was a resident at a large national chain of assisted living facilities for about four years. I had no complaints at the previous place but when I got to the Landings of Mills River I saw another level of care. The staff was attentive, caring and on top of my father's needs. They are focused on not only his comfort and his physical health, but also his mental health by engaging him in daily activities, leading to a 'happier dad'. The physical therapist was spectacular, such a kind, patient man. The nurses were beyond good, always focused on the well being of those under their care. The price, compared to the national chain, was much better, in this case I paid less, my father got better care and I slept easier knowing I had found the right place for my dad. The building is brand new, the facilities are excellent. I recommend the Landings of Mills River. Pat K"

"Mountain View is an old building, but you feel like home when you walk through the door! I had a family member here and I wouldn’t have of placed them anywhere else. The staff at Advent Health Hospital,Henderson county DSS and several people in the community raved on the staff before she was placed their. I applaud Sydney and Crystal for running the facility so well. Thank you Mountain View! "

"Care Partners Adult Day services is a wonderful facility. The staff is loving and caring, and knows how to handle recalcitrant patrons. They provide all kinds of activities during the course of a day--veteran's groups, Bible study, singing, dancing, exercise, etc. My husband was very nervous about going the first time, but wihin an hour, he was comfortable and enjoying himself, and ready to go back the next day. He loves going, and misses it when it's not one of his scheduled days. I highly reccommend this facility "

"I am so grateful my mom is in the care of Flesher's Fairview staff. The staff there are compassionate, caring for each resident as if they were their own loved one. The staff on the business side are professional, yet very caring and helpful resident family members. "

"I moved my mom into Cherry Springs about 2 months ago and it has been great so far. She was living at home with me and I started to feel I was doing her an injustice as I juggled my family and her care. Since moving in she has gotten involved in activities been more social and just seems overall happy. It is an older building but the staff is fantastic as you can tell they are truly caring and attentive. "

"I went to Carolina Village. I saw the whole place, and I know a number of people who live there in various stages. My church is very well represented there. I've been there a couple of times visiting, but truthfully I don't like any of them. I prefer to live among a variety of people and a variety of ages. It just isn't for me yet. I haven't had that much experience with the staff. My experience has been more with the residents, but everybody was very friendly and helpful. They were not intrusive. They're there to serve, and they go about their business and if you need help; they are there on call. I ate there before the pandemic, and the food was wonderful. There's a large variety. There are a number of different levels of food plan, so you don't have to eat there all the time if you don't wish to. You can eat there all the time if you want. It was a very good food plan. It's a lovely facility. I just visited a friend there who just left a beautiful well-kept house. She's gonna be living in a three-room unit. It's lovely. They have plenty of room. They're very happy, and I think I would probably be happy there too (even though I live in a 6,500 square foot house). They have a pool, a gym, and a post office. They have more than one place to eat. They have a hospital there and a rehab center. I don't think you can beat that facility."

"The Bridge at Lake Pointe Landing was too large for us. They have a huge library and you they watch movies there. The price is all-inclusive. They come in and clean the house, and you could clean your own if you want. You rent, not buy in. If you choose to leave, then you have to give them two months-notice, which seems fair. They have a swimming pool."

"Chunns Cove is good. There were a few speed bumps when we were getting my grandfather in, but we all worked through it. He likes the staff and his room and hasn't complained about the food. The community is on top of the mountain, so he likes that he's back with nature. His first room wasn't that nice and his roommate has dementia so they moved him, and everything's great now. They do bingo and have a library, common rooms, and multiple places for the residents to walk around. They were very fair in letting us bring stuff in for him, like the TV, because he likes to read and have his own coffee machine in his room."

"This retirement home is a great place for my grandparents. They currently live in their own home on the premises, where they are surrounded by neighbors, all of who have served in the Methodist Church. The best thing about this place is that they have their own home and can maintain their independence, but with certain services that make us (their family) and them feel better. For example, there is a yearly full cleaning of the house. Gardening and maintenance is taken care of (unless they want to do it themseleves). In addition, there is an assisted living home right in the same complex. They are able to visit with those that are not in as good of health as they are. And, if something should happen, there are pulleys and an intercom system in their home. Should they need additional assistance, they already know the staff and can even move into the assisted living space without having to transition communities or space. They are very happy there. "

"My sister moved to Pisgah Villa. They encourage people to use their freedom. They also have a lot to do there as far as exercise rooms. The people there are very nice. It's a smaller place than the one she was in. They have a nice swimming pool. They teach yoga classes. They have art classes. I've never eaten there, but my sister told me she thought the food was good. They had a huge dining room with tables and chairs. They take them shopping once a week and assist them if they need an outside doctor. The facility has one psychiatrist and an on-call doctor."
