"We went to visit and it was good, it's very nice, and everybody there was very nice. We enjoyed the visit to their memory care unit. The person who assisted us was very good and very professional. She showed us the rooms, the amenities, the cafeteria, the place where they play games, and the hair salon."

"We found here for my sister. The place is built like a circle, so even if she wanders around, she'll come back into the main dining area. Each hallway where the rooms are set off around the side, had different colors, so she would know which color to go to for her room. They have activities and nurses 24 hours. Even the staff up front used to be nurses and are well trained. They have activity times, movie time, chapel time, and a beauty salon. They're so well taken care of. She has a room all to herself, and her bedroom door is left open most of the time, so she won't get lost in different places. The staff is very good and keeps me well informed, and the doctor goes to her room to see her. There's a library there. They can have hospice come in if she becomes less mobile."

"I got a full tour of everything. It was beautiful. The staff seemed wonderful. The rooms were spacious. It was very nice. They have a lot of activities that go on. They have a theater room and a full salon. They have just different things like that. The grounds were beautiful. You could go out in the courtyard and sit. They had a huge fireplace in the entrance, the little bistro, and all that kind of thing, so it was just very nice. It's very nice and brand new. It was just a good experience."

"This place is great. 5 star rated. Loved having my family member be there. Same staff every time. Large private suites."

"I toured Oakview Park. I liked it. It was nice. Everywhere was nice. In the front, people were coming in and out. These are patients that are coming out to see the sunset and that was good. They showed me where their PT was and where their OT was. Then they showed me an activities room where they get all kinds of activities. It seems like they do everything. The staff was telling me all the different activities they do. When I got there, it was about lunchtime, and they called the patients, and they were all walking into the dining room, and they seemed happy. They gave me a menu to show me what they had. Everybody seemed to be doing their job like talking to the patients, which is important to me. The lady that helped me, was very helpful, and informative and she knew what she was doing. The room that I looked at was furnished with the woman's furniture. The inside was really clean and so was the outside."

"Dad moved to Brookstone Terrace of Woodruff. They are good. They're very helpful and friendly. Communication is good with them. Dad is in a single occupancy. It has a full bathroom for showers and everything in it, which some places don't. It's a little larger than a studio. He has a bed, a sitting area, and everything else. The food I tasted was very good. I had French toast for breakfast."

"The one thing I liked about Viva Senior Living at Easley is that they will take reservations. A lot of places won't reserve space for respite care, but they will. That's one reason we picked them. I liked everything about it. They were very personable. They seem to have plenty of help from what I observed when I was there. I like the facility. I like the layout and the cleanliness of it. The staff was very good. The rooms were nice. The atmosphere was comfortable."

"The Inverness at Spartanburg is a pretty good place, they take care of my grandfather just fine. I was looking for the least expensive community and this is the lowest one I could find, so I'm satisfied where he's at. The staff is pretty good, and hospice would also come in three times a week. They've got stuff and activities for the residents to do. They also have a TV room, puzzle room, and they've also got physical therapy. He's in a shared room there, but if you wanted you can get a private room and pay more money. He has to have his food pureed there."

"It is very nice and the staff seems to be well-trained in dementia and Alzheimer's care. They showed me around the community and I met all the employees. The staff seems friendly and knowledgeable. There are some private rooms and semi-private ones or companion rooms. They have just about everything when it comes to amenities, they have a hair salon, they have a courtyard where my husband could go out and sit, and it's an enclosed area. It's really nice, and I probably would have chosen them right away if they're located closer to home. It's very decorative, there's a large TV in the sitting area, they have a beautiful dining room with an actual chef who makes the meals. Everything in there is just beautiful, it doesn't look like a facility, it looks like a home. They have seating in the hallways if the residents get tired. Everybody can go out in the courtyard unassisted, it's very secure and they have alarms on the doors. They're very kind, they said that if I want to spend the night with my husband I can spend the night there. I can have family dinners there because they have a private dining room. So if we want to have dinner with my husband, there's a large private room where we can invite the family. It's very beautiful and the staff is wonderful. The staff who gave the tour was very knowledgeable, primarily about dementia and assisted living. I didn't get the chance to eat there yet but the food looked really good. It's a very clean and nice community."

"It's a real nice facility and really the place that I thought I wanted my mom to go, but the lady there did not work with the social worker. She never returned calls, or faxes, or anything. She had openings, and my mom missed out on those openings because of the lack of communication. It's a clean place although it looked like kind of an institution, because it was a building. Otherwise it looked all right. The staff was very knowledgeable. They have a licensed RN there and it made me feel really good. They have really great programs that they offer throughout the day. It's like every 2 hours, there was a different program going on, about 7 days a week. So they're keeping their residents active there. The residents were very nice, they were friendly, and very talkative. One even commented on my husband's Dallas Cowboy shirt. There was this married couple that I saw and they seemed very happy. Also, they would let people bring their own furniture and I thought that was fantastic! I knew my mom would actually like that, too. The only thing though, the contact the lady there, I forgot the name, she should at least try to call the people back or fax or email them back and not just ignore people. The staff should be more responsive to inquiries. "

"Pine Grove Senior Living was neat and clean. They were an older place because my dad stayed there about 20 years ago, and it's called something else then. They have a separate memory center there. I only met with one person, and she was pretty good. It was my second choice. They have an area where you can get your hair trimmed."

"We went to Windsor House. We liked it. The overall tour experience was great. We thought it was a nice community, but we haven't taken my dad over there yet. The only thing we didn't like about them was the fact that my dad had to eat his meals in the dining room. But there are a lot of days when his blood sugar is off and he can't make it to the dining room, so that's a little up in the air for us. The staff were wonderful though. We liked the layout. The room was a decent size. They have lots of activities. They have in-house health care, which is important to us. The staff are very friendly and attentive to the residents' needs. They know them by name and reach out to them, and I like that. The place is clean and very nice."

"Greenville Glen was a small and intimate community, which was nice. They may have only had about 25 rooms or so available, but the rooms were fairly small, so it was not the best fit for my mom. The staff was good, the people were great, and the amenities were decent."

"My mom has been at the Gables Memory Care for 2 months now. Although this is a difficult time for everyone involved, the staff in memory care under the leadership of Cynethia and Ceciley has been excellent. We had an issue come up with my mothers room which required cooperation from a lot of the staff members at the Gables and Cynthia lead the team and worked with me professionally to find a solution which worked best for my mother in the end. I have full confidence in Cynthia and her staff going forward."
