Assisted Living Communities in Fountain Inn, SC

"We've already found Brookdale Brushy Creek and got my in-laws there. I like the overall layout. It is very open and airy. It doesn't feel cramped. This place is very clean and it smells like flowers. They have flowers everywhere and small trees - real trees, not fake trees. They have all sorts of different programs going on. People are learning to dance and they are getting people moving around. The staff is extremely helpful and extremely knowledgeable. While we were there, another patient went into some sort of medical issue, and they were Johnny on the spot. Several people came at once providing assistance, getting an ambulance to take him to the hospital, and notifying his family. It just filled me with confidence that they are taking their jobs very seriously. The place is extremely clean. There is no stuff scattered everywhere. They bring the residents out to play games, like bingo. One group of people was playing Monopoly while we were there. There were a couple of other gentlemen who were wheelchair-bound and we saw them outside in the courtyard shooting basketball hoops. There were only 3 of them, but there was a male nurse out there watching them. If the ball got away, the nurse would run and get it and bring it back, and they would shoot the ball again."

"My mother will be moving into Kauhale Pettigru. I liked the location. It's convenient to my hometown and for all my siblings to get to. I liked the setting. It's in Downtown Greenville, so there are lots of trees and pretty outdoors. I liked that it's a smaller community. There are 20 people in memory care. It would be more conducive to the staff being more attentive. They're not overloaded. I had a pleasant experience. I liked the director who showed me around. She's very nice, very knowledgeable, and she knows her stuff. It was very clean. They had a patio and nice outdoor spaces. They had one that had a grill setup and an outdoor picnic area. They had another one that was sort of like a walking trail that just looped around the back. It was really nice."

"We toured Waterstone on Augusta. What I liked about it was, number one, it was a newer facility. Number two, the care that we saw exhibited there seemed excellent. The people there were very accommodating. The facility itself was excellent, very clean and sanitary. There were lots of activities for the senior adults to get involved in, and the people there were just extraordinary."

"I loved everything about them. I told my family that when I'm at an age where I need to go to assisted living, I need to go there. It was awesome, it's fairly new and all the rooms had hardwood floors. So it was great. The staff that gave us the tour was really on it. It was more of what I liked, and it would not be a good fit for my mother."

"My father will be moving into Manning Square. He liked that facility. It's excellent, very attentive to our needs, and compassionate. Shelby gave me the tour and she is very knowledgeable and professional. We have a one-bedroom apartment, that is beautiful. They had different floor plans and we got to tour them all, occupied and unoccupied, and they're spacious and very personal. I think what won my father over was knowing that there are so many activities planned and that the people that live there are part of the decision-making process. They have a spa, a puzzle area, and three common living rooms. They also have a garden. They're pet friendly and they have a lot of activities. The food looked great. We went during lunch and everybody was eating everything as if it were good food."

"Oakview Park was very spacious and very open. The residents seemed happy. The staff who toured me around was very friendly and very open. They had outside courtyards. There were a few restaurants that were not far from this facility. The upkeep of this place was great."

"I'm considering Viva Senior Living at Easley for my sister if everything goes well. Everybody I've talked to seemed real nice and helpful in explaining things. I've had family members there before and everything was OK."

"Our second choice would be Langston Square. We liked it because the size was not very big. It was very clean and the staff were very good that we interacted with. Overall, we felt it was a very nice facility. The staff was very good. Everything was very good. The only negative was the location. We viewed all the common areas."

"I recently moved my Mom to Inverness. And even though she is farther away from me, I am no longer anxious for her care or her safety. The staff is like family to each other, to the residents in their care here, and to the family and friends of the residents. It is the place that if you needed for a loved one but were concerned that they may not get that "assisted living" environment, then it is the right choice. I would want to live here when the time comes. It is that much and more for the person living there and for the family members also. My brother and I feel that Mom is now in a happy, healthy, and caring place. Mom deserves the best and for what is offered and for the financial fairness that is Inverness of Spartanburg, we feel truly blessed. "Love this facility! I recently moved my grandmother in and they are fabulous! I have searched a number of communities and this one is the best. "

"My grandmother moved into North Pointe. We chose them because they were very transparent. When we were asking them questions, they really went above and beyond to try to help us, and it had just about everything that we needed for her. It had the assisted living side and then the option to change the level of care over into the memory side. It had a lot of activities and things, and it wasn't too far away from us. It was just what worked out best for our family. They were really accommodating and helpful. They had made her this special room tag, and they did this little welcome thing for her. They let my mom and me come in and set up her room for her, and while we were working on moving all of her furniture and stuff in, they had an activity planned to integrate her into the community and meet people. They were very comforting and accommodating, and they made sure that it was a positive transition for her. The food is good. She actually has a restricted diet where she has a dairy intolerance. Even before she was a full-time resident, they had bought special things to make for her, so that she will be able to have the kind of food that she likes, along with everyone else. If they have pasta, she can have pasta and things like that. Some things were a little bit confusing during the process though. They provide transportation to the appointments, but they still expect the family members to drive out there for every appointment and everything, and I don't feel like it was really well communicated at the time. They have a nurse there who will go for some appointments. If you choose not to use their on-site physicians or their specialists, they'll just take them and drop them off at the appointment. They don't have a special team to go and have someone sit with the patient, so their family still has to go to these appointments. I feel like for the amount of money that you're paying, that's not good. When she was living with me, I was already taking her to all of these appointments, and it's actually more inconvenient because she's twenty-seven minutes in the opposite direction. The facility is nice and very spacious, and they have this special courtyard, really spacious rooms, and a big activity-and-game room. They constantly have someone coming up and down taking care of everything for her. They're really big about their COVID precautions. They have special temperature-checking and sign-in/sign-out sheets. They make sure that they're on top of everything."

"Summit Place was really nice, big, and roomy. The staff was very nice and knowledgeable. I looked at the memory care area."

"My friend is in the assisted living of The Renaissance. The experience has been good. He likes it and is doing really well. They play cards, music, sing, arts and crafts, and get together to eat lunch and stuff like that. What stands out to me was that it seems really clean, peaceful, and quiet. I haven't seen any trouble. The staff is wonderful, really nice, and polite, and they do anything you want them to do. They tell him to take out his trash and they'll pick it up for him by the door, so that's a plus. They do anything for him that he needs done; if he needs something fixed, they fix it right away because there's a handyman there. There are three meals a day offered. He says the food is good."

"We have my mother on the waiting list for the Legacy Reserve at Fairview Park. The staff members are very helpful and very friendly. They are a caring community. The rooms are very spacious and clean. They look very nice. The dining room is beautiful. It is set up very nicely. I would tell others that they're very helpful. If they have any questions, they will answer them for them, and if they don't know the answer, they will find it for you."
