She is in independent living, she is very happy there, she likes the food and the people, and she feels very much at home. "

"I liked this place very much - it was homey and inexpensive. However, we realized right away that this would not work for my father as he is wheelchair-bound. This facility, being an old home, was not built with wheelchairs in mind. The doorways are simply not wide enough. But if someone is mobile and/or using a walker, it would be a great place to live. Nice people and, as I said, feels like home & not an institution. "

"Upon visiting this residential location, the order, cleanliness, and general friendliness of the staff in the building were immediately apparent. The residents seem very happy and busy. The activities that are provided seem engaging and beyond what I've seen at other assisted living facilities. Religious opportunities are provided and encouraged along with a great sense of community. The location for the facility is in the nicer part of this suburb of Chicago and located near a hospital, but also near plenty of activities. The opportunities for interaction with family in the area is also great, since access to the rest of Chicagoland is easy. Overall, there is a sense of serenity and peace, but not in a foreboding sense as I've encountered elsewhere. Rather, in a way that is conducive to enjoying a stress-free life. Though I visited a friend's grandparents, the interactions that I had with the staff were very positive and the general happiness on the grounds is very high. "

"We toured StoryPoint Naperville. It was a very friendly staff, very clean, modern, and up-to-date. It looked like a five-star high-class hotel. The three-course meals look five star, very high quality from what we've seen on the display as far as the meals and all. All in all the place looked in mint condition. They did an assessment of her with the nurse, and they decided that she would need a possibly level two memory assistance in the memory care facility. They're just not furnished. You have to bring all your things in like, the bed, the chair, the TV and all that. We didn't go upstairs to the memory care facility, but they showed us on the first floor, and they were nice rooms with windows. The staff was very good, very knowledgeable in what they were showing us, and answering questions. They had all the questions and all the info and stuff while we were touring."

"My family looked at several different facilities before choosing Harbor Chase. The main reason that we decided to move my mom here instead of the others was because of the feel we got when we visited. They have good ratio between care staff and residents and there are therapist in the wellness room that are helping my mom with her knee. The sales process was genuine and sincere and when we saw other residents during our tours, they shared with us that this was a great place. That meant alot. We chose a 2 bedroom apartment and it works out great because my mom can still have her crafting area and room for her ipad and printer. My mom has made new friends and enjoys when they all go out to eat at local restaurants. Every time i ask to talk to a nurse, I get called back right away and they have great followup communication. We are really happy we found Harbor Chase and recommend it to anyone who asks"

"There are many Sunrises to choose from in the Chicago region, and two in the town of Naperville. This one is outside of the downtown area, on the outskirts of a mixed business and residential district. It sits on the main road, Ogden Avenue, and backs up to a safe residential area. There is a relatively small outdoor sitting area in the front of the building, enough to accommodate a few residents and visitors quite comfortably. The common areas are warmly decorated in typical Sunrise style; there are tasteful home-like furnishings and a soothing mix of color and texture. Like all Sunrise communities, there is plenty of common area space both on the main level and on each care floor. This facility is typically very neat, clean, and well maintained. The apartments are available in different sizes and configurations at different price points. Most are single occupancy though some couples will occasionally reside at Sunrise in larger units. Large windows provide plentiful light and there is an above average amount of storage space. The designated dementia care area at this Sunrise is nicer than at some others, both aesthetically and in terms of care milieu. The overall staff at this particular Sunrise is historically very responsive, kind, and engaged with the residents. Staff turnover is average to below average for this type of setting. The food is above average with most meals rated by residents as good to very good. "

"I'm at Victory Centre of Bartlett, and it's been good so far. The staff has been helpful and courteous. My room is too small for my liking. I'm in a wheelchair, and sometimes it's hard to get through the doorways. The food is good. We play a game called Rumble Cube and sometimes trivia."

"My mother lived here for just over 10 years. She was early onset Alzheimer's and lived outside of Belmont Village's dementia unit for five years before moving into it. The care and the care providers were always outstanding. They called me anytime -- day or night -- there was a problem and they always treated my mother like a human being, someone with feelings and concerns. They never treated her like a patient. The staff, from the very top executive to the very lowest person on the totem poll, was always respectful and kind not only to me but, more importantly, to my mother. I can't say enough good things about Belmont Village. Yes, it was costly. But I'm thankful my mother had the funds to pay for it. "

"My mother is in Hearthwood Senior Living. I like the fact that it has independent living, then assisted living, and then the possibility of memory care if that is how she progresses in her life. We are only 10 minutes away, and that was one of the reasons why I chose this place. Every single room that's independent living has a balcony or a patio, depending on what floor you're on. Also, there are outside paths that she can walk on. There's a path that goes around a pond that's a three-tenths-of-a-mile pond. Then there are outside areas that are contained within parts of the buildings where you can sit at tables and chairs. It's a big patio with multiple areas. I like the fact that she can get out and walk around outside when she wants to. Everybody seems very happy there, not just the staff, but all the people who are there. They're very friendly and always willing to help. You ask anybody who's in the hall how to get somewhere, and they'll give you directions or help you find it. I've never had a problem. We've been able to eat there at least six or seven times with my mom, and everything is very good, and there's a nice assortment. Everything is very clean. Right now, they're renovating certain areas, but they have those cordoned off so that you can't go there. There's no dust or anything when they're doing their work. They're doing the work during the daylight hours when everybody would be awake anyway if they're pounding or anything, so it's not a disturbance. My mom said there are a few things that have had to be moved because they're renovating the areas where their activities are. That's the only thing she doesn't like because then you have to go to a different place than what you were used to going to. They have something every day, Monday through Friday, at different hours. They have a pool there. They have a quilting group and a singing group. They usually have at least one time of taking the people out to either a store or a restaurant or they had a tea out at a greenhouse. They're going to go to Cantigny at the end of this month. They have outings at least once a week, sometimes twice a week. To me, it's perfect because she's 95 going on 96, so she does not drive anymore, and this way she can get out with other people."

"My dad has been a resident at Brighton Gardens in Wheaton. So far it's been great, everyone's very caring, and they all seem to really care about my dad. They get back to us quickly if we have a question. He's in a small studio apartment, they have different sizes like a small, a medium, and maybe a large. Everything's kind of shut down because of COVID. He just started being able to get let out of his room and off of quarantine following two or three negative COVID tests. So far, I think they have yoga, and they've brought him down to do singing as a group with a music instructor. I know that they do a lot of activities that they typically do, but as far as what he's done so far, it's very limited since he's literally just got out of quarantine. Normally they have lots of stuff to do. I haven't tried their food, but my dad has and he said it's good. I haven't been in there often, only once when he moved in, so all I can say about the facility is that it seemed nice and pretty straightforward. Kind of reminds me of a hotel, like an old hotel. They have ample parking and a cute little circle drive in the front door for people that want to come pick up their loved ones. They just park the car in the circle drive. At the front of the building are rocking chairs and an outdoor patio. I do remember walking in to get to the elevator when we moved him in. We passed by doors to another courtyard that you could access from the inside, so they have a space for people to hang out in when COVID is not around or when it's not cold."

"It is wonderful, and the sales woman is terrific. The place is fine; there’s nothing wrong in it if it fits your budget. I liked the strength of the buildings. They looked like they could withstand a tornado. The halls, however, are a little bit narrow."

"I thought Bickford was amazing! I spoke with Patrick who was very kind and compassionate as this is a very difficult decision to make. Bickford felt very homey, it was clean, and the staff was very friendly. It did not have that hospital or nursing home feeling at all. It's a place I can feel comfortable with caring for our mom."
