"I went to GreenFields in Geneva for a tour over two years ago. It was very clean and the apartments were very nice, but it was not really a place that I would be interested in because the hallways reminded me too much of a hotel. The staff was very good, very personable, and answered all of my questions. We talked to someone about the activities too. I remember that they had a beauty shop for the hair, and a big laundry room. I didn't really find anything negative there. We also had a meal there, and the food was really good, very well-prepared, and the dining room was also very nice."

"I have been very impressed with Storypoint Naperville. From the 1st time I walked in, up thru the viewing, and finally deciding to move my mother into the facility, I have been impressed with the staff, services, building, and the level of care that is shown to all residents and family. Storypoint is focused on providing the best living experience for their residents, and it is evident by the actions of the leadership and all staff. Their resident centered philosophy starts at the top, as the Directors primary responsibility is knowing their residents and needs, and providing that thru great food, a wide variety of activities, and attention to the little details that are so important to the residents. All leaders are hands on, and no request is too small not to get the attention that it deserves. My mom is in Assisted Living, and the Director of Nursing and her staff are attentive and responsive to whatever comes up in their residents daily lives, and paying attention to any changes and reacting appropriately. I sometimes wish I could be a resident, since there are so many fun activities to choose from, and the food is outstanding. I highly recommend this to anyone wanting to move their family member, and have total peace of mind in their care and quality of life."

"I first visited this facility when a family friend became unable to care for herself and had to find alternate living arrangements. Although she was in bad health at the time and we all were quite worried for her, the facilities were very nice and the staff courteous and professional. I haven't spent extensive amounts of time in the facility, but the senior citizens there do seem to be lacking somewhat in direction and sense of community. "

"First off, you have to know that my brother, who is a current resident of Harbor Chase Naperville, could have played one of the starring roles in the movie "Grumpy Old Men". He came to Harbor Chase just over a week ago. But here his complaints have been very minor and once the quarantine is lifted, I'll bet his disposition will improve to a great degree. He raves about the food and would like the opportunity to explore the facilities. I have had occasion to make contact with the staff frequently due to trying to get assistance from the VA and,on the rare instance when I had to leave a message, my call was promptly returned. If I ever have the need to make use of such a facility for myself, I hope Harbor Chase has room for me."

"My sister is in Brighton Gardens, and I am very impressed. The staff is marvelous. I cannot say more about them. They are extremely friendly, helpful, and attentive. She is in a studio apartment, and it is spacious and homey. It is perfect for her. Their food is wonderful. Their service is great. They have tons of activities; that is why I never get a hold of her because she is so busy. They do puzzles. They have a lot of entertainers that comes in. They do bingo and lots of arts & crafts. I will tell everybody to go there. My sister is happy there. "

"Bickford of Oswego is a beautiful facility. It is always clean and smells nice. The common areas are nicely furnished, comfortable. Initially, I was afraid my father's room would be a little small, but it has turned out to be exactly the right amount of space for him. He doesn't need any more than what he has. The bathrooms are a nice size with large walk in showers. The staff at Bickford of Oswego has welcomed my father with open arms. Everyone (staff and residents) are always smiling, friendly, and welcoming. My dad is well taken care of, in fact he looks great! He loves the nurses, CNAs and other staff (the girls as he calls them.) They are understanding of his memory issues, but allow him as much independence as he can handle. It's nice that they have a flexible care continuum that allows each resident to get exactly the assistance they need while allowing them to continue to do what they can for themselves too. Most of all, the staff at Bickford has been a godsend to us as we now can enjoy Dad and be his daughters again instead of caregivers. It is truly a wonderful place. "

"Sunrise Naperville was a very nice place. It started as assisted living level as opposed to independent living. When we were there, everybody seemed much older than my mom. She is not at that point yet. The facility was nice, but their food wasn’t the greatest. The grounds were nice. "

"My mom has moved into Franciscan Court. All of the staff is very friendly, and I've found that they're very attentive to my mother's needs. It's very clean, and well-organized in terms of activities. The meals are good quality. They do help keep my mother on a good schedule, and make sure she's up and active during the day and not just sitting around. They do pay attention to any physical needs that she has. In terms of any cuts or abrasions or anything like that, they take good care of that. My mom has moved into a studio. I think it helps her to be motivated to get out of the room and do some activities. If the room or the space was big, she might tend to stay in it more. I know they have 1-bedroom available. They have a library that's available at all times and other activities to keep everybody up and moving as much as possible."

"Belmont Village Geneva Road was very good. I liked the place. The person that showed me around was very knowledgeable, very helpful, and was able to answer all my questions. The rooms were average to all the other ones I visited. It seemed like everybody was very happy there. They're very welcoming. They were playing bingo at the time. Everything looked very good and well-maintained."

"My 85 year old father has lived at Brookdale for 2 1/2 years. It is the perfect place for him. The grounds outside (back patio and lawn) and the common areas of the facility are lovely and VERY clean. When he wants to retreat to his own apartment, he has everything he needs and it’s so homey. My father comments frequently about how wonderful the staff is...very positive, helpful and engaging with the residents. He loves to chat and share stories/jokes with them. There have been a few times that my father has been ill or needed assistance quickly and the staff has been very prompt in responding to his needs. When I visit, the staff all know my name and which resident I am there to see! The food and activities are plentiful and varied....including a gym and pool. My father has the option on a daily basis to be as busy as he would like to be. He gets together with his new found friends regularly for Bridge and dinners. When we were choosing an independent senior living facility, I knew Brookdale Glen Ellyn was the right spot immediately. The energy and engagement of the residents were so much higher than other places. My father has thrived here and is SO happy! I would highly recommend Brookdale Glen Ellyn to anyone looking for a senior independent living community!"

"We went to American House Cedarlake and if it hadn't been for the price, I would probably have chosen American House. American House is really on the expensive side for Mom because her finances are not that great. It was a little too much, although we liked it. It was actually our favorite, but the money was a big stumbling block. We got to see both independent and assisted living when we went there. We really like the way everything was set up for the residents. We like the way their meals were done. They had a structured menu, and they had a more lenient time schedule for their meals. Say that you had somebody in assisted living that had therapy or whatever and they can't come to lunch until whatever time, you could go down and eat at that time. They have longer periods for breakfast and longer periods for lunch and dinner. It was just really nice with that stuff. Their apartments were well appointed. We really like the way they had things set up and the people there seemed really nice. The only drawback for them was their pricing was a little too steep for Mom at this time. They seemed outstanding when we were there. We really liked that place. The staff are all very nice and welcoming. Covid still screwed things up, but they really went out of their way to try and show us the best they could. They showed us the facility as much in its entirety as they were allowed, since they don't want you coming in contact with the residents. It was a restricted tour still but a very good one at the same time. We didn't have any food. We weren't allowed to eat there, but they gave us an apple pie to bring home and the apple pie was very, very good. One thing that I like is that if the person is capable, they have some rooms that have washers and dryers in them. They could do their own laundry if they wanted and they didn't have to go out into the general hallway and share a washer and dryer. That was really nice. Some of the apartments came with that if you're capable of doing it and wanted to do it yourself. I like that. Also they seemed to have a little bit better access for tubs and toilets and stuff. We thought their access to those was really good for seniors."
