"Overall, I feel that this was a nice facility. My grandfather lived there for about a year. When I went to visit, the staff was very nice and helpful. The facility itself was set up very nicely and it was easy to get around. They also seemed to have a lot of different areas for the residents to do different activities. The food seemed pretty decent as well. The residents appeared to be relatively happy with the staff. It was nice to see that the staff members did care about the residents. This was especially important to me because I had a relative living there. When looking at different assisted living facilities, some seemed dirty and appeared to have staff members that were pretty rude. This facility was clean and had a caring staff. They also had a nice outdoor area for the residents as well, which i thought was very nice. Overall, this is a good assisted living facility and I would recommend it to others. "

"Asbury Gardens was clean, newly remodeled, and nice looking. The staff was very friendly, very informative, and attentive to people. The residents were also very friendly and welcoming. The studios seemed pretty nice for what you can expect. They have activities. They have a beauty parlor, church services in different denominations, physical therapy, outings, a courtyard, and a library."

"The place was filthy! Residents just sitting around doing nothing. Was in the elevator with a resident that looked and smelled like he just came in off the street.Called to speak to the Director several times, she was never there or always busy. Do not send your loved ones there! "

"My father stayed here for roughly six months before being switched to hospice in the same facility. He was on a ventilator and not able to speak or walk. The staff eventually was able to help him into a special chair at times, and being able to see him in an upright position meant the world to my family. I also appreciated that he was in a private room for the majority of his time there. Another plus was that we were able to decorate and personalize his living space, despite his only being there a short time. Visiting hours were good, and staff there allowed my mother to stay overnight with my dad. When my dad died, the staff was also very accommodating with giving us time to say goodbye. Now for the negative: Most of the aides were great, but at times I felt as though they were more interested in chatting with each other/other staff than helping residents. I know it must be difficult to work at a nursing home, but it was disheartening to see some residents roaming the halls -- sometimes screaming -- and staff not looking up whatsoever. "

"My friend is a resident of Batavia Rehabilitation & Health Care Center. They call it a rehab center, but they're not doing much to help her. What she's done, she's done on her own. It's clean, and all the people liked the food. They said it's good food. The staff is very attentive. They're awesome people. They are nice and try to meet everybody's needs. When I'm there, I see they help out a lot of people and my friend. They'll help her do things. If they don't have a lot of clothes, they give them clothes to put on."

"Bria has skilled nursing, and they were really wonderful to deal with; the admission staff in particular was great. It was very well-maintained. They have physical therapy, which for me is a requirement for my husband since he is disabled and he has Parkinson’s disease; he needs physical therapy. "

"West Chicago Terrace was, at least when I visited it, a fairly clean place. When one first enters the nursing home, there are no blatant odors, but rather a smiling young face to greet the visitor. Also, I don't know if it was my personal timing, but the director was there to greet me with a brochere of the facility and a short tour. This particular nursing home has 5 wings, one of which was specifically for persons with greater needs. Even this wing was clean, and had only a slight odor of urine. The food I tasted was sub-par compared to other nursing homes, but the food is not for me, of course. I only visited this facility a few times, so I didn't really get a good read on the employees, but they all seemed rather kind. The one draw back, however, was what seemed like a lack of employees. They seemed a little short handed. But given the state of things, they were doing pretty well with what they had. "

"My great-aunt was at this facility for about 18 months. Her daughter raved about how wonderful the people were to her and her mom. I visited my aunt there a few times, and I was impressed with how clean it was. The staff seemed engaged and very caring. It has a nice chapel which my aunt really enjoyed going to for daily mass (for as long as she could). As she got worse, she moved to a different floor, and the care was consistently wonderful. I thought the rooms were very hospital like, and not large, but it was impressive for the quality of the care, and the cleanliness. In addition, my friend independently placed his mother there in 2009. Both my aunt's daughter and this friend said separately to me that they thought this was an excellent facility, and would like to be placed there when they are ready for full time care. "
