"My friend is a resident of Batavia Rehabilitation & Health Care Center. They call it a rehab center, but they're not doing much to help her. What she's done, she's done on her own. It's clean, and all the people liked the food. They said it's good food. The staff is very attentive. They're awesome people. They are nice and try to meet everybody's needs. When I'm there, I see they help out a lot of people and my friend. They'll help her do things. If they don't have a lot of clothes, they give them clothes to put on."

"I want to say thank you to all the staff that has been taking care of my mother Inlaw at the grove of St Charles They have been nothing but kind, patient, and understanding. She just started doing activities and she’s been happy to tell us all the prizes she has won. And when she’s in her room watching tv she tells us how the CNAs come in periodically just to see if she needs anything. she lets us know that the nurses are kind to her and she just loves the therapy department, I can’t express how happy we all are with the staff members. And she also mentioned that she has a very nice housekeeper name Diana that keeps her room clean. Thank you! "

"I have lived at River Crossing of St. Charles, IL for the past month, receiving Physical Therapy and Occupational Therapy. Each of the therapist were exceptionally kind and professional in assisting me with individualized strengthening exercises at a rate that was comfortable and effective. My room was freshly updated, clean and roomy. The entire staff, from administration to nursing to dietary to housekeeping (including laundry services) were always ready to help. I’m very grateful to my son for finding this facility for me . I am a retired nurse and give River Crossing of St. Charles my highest regards. My overall health has greatly improved."

"Having to put my mom in any facility was hard, however, Asbury being one of the last places I called to see if they would accept her worked with me to get my mom in right away. The 14 months that my mom lived there were very good. We have no complaints, the staff was always there to speak with me about my mom, they kept me updated and her care was 2nd only to what I would do. We all know that we think no one can do what we do. I commend the people who choose this field and apply their hearts into it. Yes there can always be someone who shouldn't be doing a job. We were blessed that we did not run into that person. Also families must also be proactive and visible in the care of their loved ones. Mom passed away and they were right there with us each step of the way that day. Thank you "

"West Chicago Terrace was, at least when I visited it, a fairly clean place. When one first enters the nursing home, there are no blatant odors, but rather a smiling young face to greet the visitor. Also, I don't know if it was my personal timing, but the director was there to greet me with a brochere of the facility and a short tour. This particular nursing home has 5 wings, one of which was specifically for persons with greater needs. Even this wing was clean, and had only a slight odor of urine. The food I tasted was sub-par compared to other nursing homes, but the food is not for me, of course. I only visited this facility a few times, so I didn't really get a good read on the employees, but they all seemed rather kind. The one draw back, however, was what seemed like a lack of employees. They seemed a little short handed. But given the state of things, they were doing pretty well with what they had. "

"The place was filthy! Residents just sitting around doing nothing. Was in the elevator with a resident that looked and smelled like he just came in off the street.Called to speak to the Director several times, she was never there or always busy. Do not send your loved ones there! "

"South Elgin Health Center was probably the cheapest one we've seen, but it was very small and quite old, but they seem to be taking care of the facility. We had kind of a positive feeling about it in spite of the fact that it was pretty old. The one thing is we did ask Alexian Brothers to check with them, and they never answered. I don't know what their problem was. You'd think that if they couldn't take him or maybe his health issues were more severe than they could deal with, they would just say so, but they never answered, and they had put in two requests. I even emailed them twice, and I never got an answer from them either. The rooms were quite small, but they seemed clean and neat. The residents that we saw -- including the ones that were pretty far along in the dementia area -- seemed to be pretty comfortable. But I think they didn't offer as much; maybe that is why they are cheaper. They expected these families to bring in more things like if you want a TV, the family should bring in the TV or that kind of thing. They had several dining areas that looked comfortable and homelike. My daughter and I had kind of a comfortable feeling about it even though it was small and old because it kind of had this comfy feeling, but it didn't work out. They didn't have a secured dementia area. They had an area that was for the dementia patients, but it was not locked away. They couldn't actually get out of the building because they had controls on that, but they didn't have a secured dementia unit. "

"Nobody "wants or looks forward to" putting their parents in a nursing home. Lauren answered every question, never lost her patience, or ever made me feel anything but welcome. I called MANY times. The staff is friendly and very experienced. They were only in there for 3 hours and put together a pain management and plan. The management visited them and gave an orientation to make them feel welcome. They get to be together and can grow together in their new journey. It's difficult during the pandemic, but they have made the transition smooth. My father in law was here and we loved the staff so much, we returned with my mom and dad. "

"Winfield Woods Healthcare Center is a wonderful place. I get excellent care all the way around. I would recommend it to anybody. I rest easier knowing that my near-90 father is well taken care of and well provided for. He is in very good hands out there. The hospital is less than a mile away, so if something were to happen, he would be right there. The residents don’t seem to have any complaints with the food. His room is incredibly clean. I have never smelled anything obnoxious there. It is the cleanest place I’ve ever been in. There is a clinical psychologist there that sets up everything. My father just got released from the physical therapy end of it, so now his program will change monthly. It’s a wide array of things, depending on what your social and physical needs are. They have a huge gym there, and they have a wide array of different professional people, psychologists, and psychiatrists. They come and go from there from Central DuPage Hospital, so they have everything covered. I have not one negative thing to say about them. From the time you walk through the door to the time you leave, people recognize you and ask you if you need help finding anything. It has been a totally positive experience for me. "
