Each resident has a personal pendant to page our staff with any need or request they may have. For security, our campus has a gated perimeter which is secured outside of business hours. Additionally, each cottage has key coded access for after hours security and has staff on duty 24/7.

We keep our families informed by updating them with ongoing activities and frequent calls and emails about the daily life of their loved ones. In addition, we will call or meet with families any time there is a change of condition with a resident. We also schedule quarterly care conferences to discuss these changes and coordinate any desired or needed aspect of services.

We have a gated perimeter and pets are allowed anywhere outside as long as they are on leash and each pet owner cleans up after his/her pet. Pets are also allowed anywhere indoors, excluding dining rooms, as long as they are on leash and behaving appropriately.

All direct care staff and Med Techs working at Pacifica Senior Living Vancouver are either Certified Nursing Assistants (NA-C) or certified Home Care Aides (HCA). In addition, all staff receive initial job specific training and on-the-job shadowing as well as facility specific general orientation. Staff also receive 12 hours of ongoing education, specific to senior care, annually in addition to monthly topics covered at All Staff meetings.

Residents who wander safely within our community but are not exit-seeking are checked frequently by staff and assessed for their appropriateness as needed by our on staff Registered Nurse. Residents who are exit-seeking are provided with one-on-one companionship and monitoring until a suitable and agreeable alternate living situation can be arranged.
