"Cherrywood staff has always been gracious, caring, helpful and kind to me and my husband, each and every time we've come to visit our senior "family" here. My husband, Monty, teaches a Christ-based Bible study once a week and also preaches on Sunday afternoons. What a privilige to share God's love with others here. We do not have any "real" family in Eastern Washington, so we are blessed with such an exceptional exteneded "family" consisting of people we get to know and spend time with at in Cherrywood. There are also many types of activities available for the residents of Cherrywood to participate in, many of which we've been invited to and greatly enjoy! BINGO is especially fun: lots of laughter whenever the first person has a "BINGO!" One year, Cherrywood had an outside carnival and we had so much fun! Smiles everywhere that day! We especially love the recognition of Senior birthdays and all of the special seasonal decorations. Easter, Thanksgiving and Christmas are always special times at Cherrywood. Christmas always has beautiful music provided from our Spokane community; choirs, harps and of course, the fantastic food! Who would think such flavorful food would be available on a daily basis? We've enjoyed the celebrations of Thanksgiving and Christmas with the residents and their many family members, and hearing the wonderful memories the seniors share with us. What a privilige it is to visit with seniors! We've also enjoyed special outings at restaurants and even a wonderful "outing" in Idaho while riding on a boat with a wonderful luncheon onboard a cruise ship in Idaho! It was so peaceful and the fresh air was fantabulous! "

"Very professional staff. A very comfy place to live for medium-risk patients. It's nicely located about 5 minutes away from several grocery stores, yet also isn't in a high traffic area. The staff were trained to help people do basic things such as wash, use the toilet, and eat. Their rooms were also quite comfortable, with an electric reclining chair, a TV with cable, a comfortable bed, and a very large cabinet with a refrigerator for foods. A good choice for anyone, certainly better than some of the other homes I've been to in the Spokane area. "

"It was very small, but it was a wonderful place. The staff gave us an amazing tour. She was very honest about the care they give, and about what they can't provide. As soon as we walked in, we just loved the community feel, the warmth, and the care. It was outstanding. A lot of the doors were open. They were decorated with each person's little personal things inside as well as outside. It was our number one place to go. They provided a lot of activities on a variety of levels. They had a dining room for a family where more than one or two people could come and share a birthday or a holiday with family, and you could be there with as many people as would fit in the room and have a meal. It was a special place. They had a menu that looked very balanced. The place reminded me of an ordinary home. It wasn't sterile like some of the nursing homes. It was perfect."

"My mom is living in North Star. It seemed to be the most upscale option. The staff seems to be very friendly, and the amenities are as good as you can expect. My mom has a nice, comfortable studio with a view of the outside. The staff turnover is the only issue but they try very hard and are very caring."

"Honeysuckle Senior Living was pleasant. It's nice and clean. The staff was friendly and seemed great. I never got to go and visit the rooms. I got to go into the areas of the kitchen, the family rooms, and the living centers, and it seemed very nice. The dining area was clean."

"My experience with Bee Hive homes was great. My mom loved it there. She went there after my dad passed away and made a lot of friends. She said there were dancing nights and game nights. She used to go for walks with some of the people who worked there. There was a bible study group that she became involved with during her time there that has carried on since she left.The only downside is the location. I'm not sure how she felt about it, but I never liked that there was a graveyard right behind the facility. I understand that for the most part the people who stay at Bee Hive Homes are in need of long term assisted living, and possible pass away during their stay, my mother was in need of that element, but she didn't have health complications. Overall It's a very nice facility. Very clean. Friendly staff, and mom loved it! I've recommended to friends since she left and will continue to do so. "

"Colonial Court Assisted Living is 100 times better than where Mom came from. This is small and has like 50 residents. They order their food in the morning so that when they get it, it's cooked, it's fresh, and then they serve it. They try to cook healthy food, and they give medicines on time. They genuinely care about their residents there. They have a nurse five days a week. I can communicate with them about my mother's needs, and they get back to me. There's somebody there, and when they see things that crop up, they notify the family, and they will get medical attention right away. She gets her medicine on time, and they encourage them to get out, do things together, and have some socialization. They give her, her showers there. She gets her needs met. She is in a studio apartment. It's one big room with a bathroom, and it's not a full kitchen. It's just a part of a kitchen, and it has a sink, a little refrigerator, and a microwave. They put out food around 10:00 to 11:00, so they can have vegetables and fruits mid morning. In the afternoon, they put out something, too. They have a big area where they have a porch and chairs, and stuff like that. They have a library and a game room. They can go there to talk and visit. The activities can be beefed up a little bit more. Value for money is pretty average. I think what they're charging is what all the others charge. Every one of these assisted living places should be like them, have good food, and have people who care."

"My husband moved to Amani Place. It's very nice. There are only three other people in there with him besides the help. It smells great. The food is good, and he's happy there. I haven't spent a lot of time over there, but he's perfectly content, so they keep him active. He is in a private room. The staff was very helpful. It's pretty expensive."

"My mom has been in Rose Pointe Assisted Living for three weeks now. The community seems nice. She had problems with her roommate, to begin with. The girl had gotten drunk, there were some words said, and they ended up moving this other girl out right away into another room. Other than that, my mom seems to like the community. It seems nice. The management there is very nice. They were thorough about everything. The dining area is nice. The reason why we chose this community was that we had to get my mom into a place ASAP, and they were the only ones that would take Medicaid. It's an older building, but they are in the process of remodeling it all. My mom ended up getting one of the newer rooms, and it seems nice. The grounds are nice, too. They have a lot of flowers and stuff like that, which my mom loves. It seems like they're on top of things. "

"The staff in my opinion does a very good job. They all have been very curtious and have responded in a timely manner. Cleanliness needs to be a priority and at this facility is way better then the previous location that I had my loved one in. It smelled of urine. Always. An effort here is made at cleanliness and they appear to be doing a good job. I would like to see more rehab for the patients, when their medicade runs out there done, and it would be beneficial for everyone to have some type of physical activity on a daily basis and if this requires more staff so be it. There does seem to be a problem with wandering patients and thievery. I realize this is a problem with people with mental disorders but there needs to be a safe enviornment and not the stress of having ones personnel belongings stolen literally everyday and then the staff has to track the stuff down. I have been told there is a new facility being built. I would suggest having a centralized staff station where all of the residents can be accounted for. As far as the food. Alot of the times I hear tales of it being returned because its cold, or the food in general is too tough to eat. I understand that you can't serve to everyones tastes but quality control should be another priority here. Overall the nurses that I have talked to on Day shift are very helpful and caring towards the residents. I am glad my loved one is in this facility. Over all "

"Orchard Crest was a very nice place, except they had a couple of “sticky fingers” there. I had things come up missing every time I turned around. That was the problem there. They pick up things you leave in your room. My apartment was large and very nice. "

"We've taken a couple of tours at the Evergreen Fountains. We already paid the $500 down payment.The staff seemed especially friendly. We got to meet somebody from the hospital with my mom who lived there and she loved it. They said the food was good. My mom and dad could go and have free breakfast or part of it, then they would have to pay if they're going to have another meal. "

"My mom and my brother moved into Humble Care Adult Family Home LLC. When I visited them, they had two openings. My mom has dementia, and my brother is handicapped. We wanted to keep them together, and they had a master suite that was available for them. They have a bunch of animals in the garden. They have like a running swamp, and they don't have a lot of other facilities; it's just a home that was converted. They do have a little bit of an exercise room. They have a garden, a patio, and a big yard. My mom has to do private pay, so I think it's a little high, while my brother is on Medicaid, which he needs way more care, but he pays almost half of what hers is."
