I am a friend or relative of a current/past resident

The staff in my opinion does a very good job. They all have been very curtious and have responded in a timely manner. Cleanliness needs to be a priority and at this facility is way better then the previous location that I had my loved one in. It smelled of urine. Always. An effort here is made at cleanliness and they appear to be doing a good job. I would like to see more rehab for the patients, when their medicade runs out there done, and it would be beneficial for everyone to have some type of physical activity on a daily basis and if this requires more staff so be it. There does seem to be a problem with wandering patients and thievery. I realize this is a problem with people with mental disorders but there needs to be a safe enviornment and not the stress of having ones personnel belongings stolen literally everyday and then the staff has to track the stuff down. I have been told there is a new facility being built. I would suggest having a centralized staff station where all of the residents can be accounted for. As far as the food. Alot of the times I hear tales of it being returned because its cold, or the food in general is too tough to eat. I understand that you can't serve to everyones tastes but quality control should be another priority here. Overall the nurses that I have talked to on Day shift are very helpful and caring towards the residents. I am glad my loved one is in this facility. Over all

I am a friend or relative of a current/past resident

Mother was living there with dementia for 3 weeks fell on wooden floors broke her hip and never walked again. Had stroke and never got medical care. Meals come from the outside building no kitchen inside the building. My mother was asked to leave because she was too much care for them. She came in walking the whole Valley mall, left in wheelchair. She was continent left totally in continent. Diapers, so if you love your family member look elsewhere.

I visited this facility

I had a very favorable experience visiting Sunshine Terraces. I was very impressed with the place. The person that showed me around was very knowledgeable and gave a great presentation. I met a number of the staff members and I was very impressed with them. Everybody seemed very caring. It seemed very clean, and I liked the overall ambience and amenities. Sunshine was nicer looking, but they didn’t have carpeted floors, so if my father fall, he would really get hurt on these floors. They said they’ll carpet it for him, but it didn’t look like they were up to speed on all of the issues that we would be concerned with. It was certainly on par with the other facility I visited, but it was slightly different. The prices were better.
