Positives:1. It was inexpensive to live at the facility. My mother was on a limited income from her disability and the facility worked with her income to get her an apartment there that was within her budget.2. The facilities were well-maintained. The building was older but it was always clean and everything was in good order when I visited.3. The facility offered a lot of activities so the residents would have things to do/a community to be involved in.4. There was a dedicated medical staff that was present during the week in case of medical emergencies.5. It was in a good location--in walking distance of a mall and grocery store and one of the major city streets. It was also directly on a bus route with a stop right outside the facility, so residents could travel throughout the city easily. Negatives:1. There were issues with some of the residents' mental states. Complaints about certain residents' interactions with my mother were addressed very slowly. Eventually my mother moved out due to her complaints being ignored.2. Dedicated medical staff was only in the facility during the week. During the weekend each floor of the facility appointed a floor adviser (a resident) who watched over the other residents and in case of emergency called first responders in.
