Story Point Knoxville West (SPKW) made the difficulties, complications, and unknowns of caring for an aging parent easier. Through this emotionally difficult time, there is rarely a defined way forward. SPKW provided us a way forward as well as the structure Mom and we needed. After research, visits to several places, and meetings with staff, we chose SPKW. We were not disappointed. In fact, they exceeded all expectations. If Mom did not complain, we knew we picked the right place. While it is impossible to capture all SPKW did well in a short review, I provide the following: · Compassion: All staff showed compassion and understanding of individual’s needs; · Caring: They genuinely cared for Mom. At the most basic level, they kept her clean, dressed, and fed. They also had many activities and made her feel important. · Medications: They ensured she received and took her meds. · Communication: They communicated very well, keeping us informed, working with doctors and medical facilities as required, and as important, in the end, they worked seamlessly with Hospice care, easing the pressure for the family.

My mother has been in the memory care unit at Storypoint for over 2 years. She has become a happy, active member of this community! All the caregivers and nurses on the unit engage well with my mother, are positive and upbeat while providing her with the medical care that she needs. The activities program is led by caring specialists who know the needs and interests of the residents. A wide variety of activities includes concerts, gardening, sewing club, games, special events and bingo! Area pastors also visit the facility to provide church services. Common areas have recently been updated to make these areas more attractive and comfortable. My mother has a single room with the benefit of a huge window for sunlight, the perfect spot to display gardening projects!

Wonderful facility, staff and location. My uncle has been here for over 6 months (in both wings)...and I know many friends who have sent loved ones to this location without any regret. It's so difficult to turn some responsibilities of your loved ones over to strangers, but the staff at StoryPoint has gone above and beyond to make the transition easier. They always have fun activities and good food! Definitely ask for Noah...he is part of the sales staff and very knowledgable.

My aunt is a resident at StoryPoint West Knoxville. She receives excellent care. All of the staff there are friendly and caring. Even those that are not licensed caregivers take extra time to converse with her and help her feel at ease. I am her only relative in Knoxville, and I am also my husband’s caregiver, so the confidence that I have in the StoryPoint staff gives me the needed peace of mind.

I toured StoryPoint Knoxville West and I thought that they were expensive but everybody was so accommodating. I talked to everybody including some residents, and they loved the place. It was a beautiful setting, and everybody was nice. I liked it. The staff members were very helpful and just very caring. They had something for everybody, they brought people together and they have some activities you could go to, and they also had a bus to go to some special outings.

My Husband and I have been here 2 mos and I love it. My Husband had Dementia and once we moved into our 1 bedroom he really felt at home. The facilitu is emaculate, always. The Chefs prepare delicious meals and desserts. Management, Staff and Residents alike make everyone feel like family. The activities are enough to keep anyone busy. I finally feel I'm home again.

My father has been at StoryPoint West for almost a year. The recently updated building is lovely and welcoming with lots of windows allowing natural light throughout and a view of the beautiful interior courtyard. The staff is a dedicated, caring group who make it a real home for the residents.

We went to visit StoryPoint Knoxville West. It was a really pretty place, but they were just selling so hard that it sort of put us off how forceful they were being. And even though the place was beautiful, there was not one person out of their room. The common rooms were empty, and this was like 3:00 in the afternoon so I would have assumed that people would have been out. So we didn't like that. Anything my mother-in-law needs, they'll add on, so the price rockets up. They were already on the high end of the pricing, and that doesn't include her help with medicine and changing clothes, and bathing, so the price was high. When they took us on a tour, I saw one resident, and that was it. So we were a little alarmed that there was nobody out doing anything and everybody was in their rooms. We met some of the nurses, they were very friendly and laughing, but we didn't see anybody else. And it was like they just kept saying they're the best, and that they're better than others and they do everything the best. And the marketing person kept asking me and texting me, it was like enough is enough. So that was a big turnoff that they just wouldn't stop. The rooms were on the smaller side because they only had studios, and the rooms were newly remodeled, nice, and everything was modeled but they were just small. Putting the sales guys aside, the rest of the staff that we met, from the receptionist to the couple of nurses we met, were friendly and had very upbeat personalities, which is good. Although we did when we left, and walked out, one person we had talked to was out smoking a cigarette in front of the building with another employee. There's got to be areas in the back where nobody sees you, and they didn't see anything to us, they just kind of looked at us. And I had just talked to this girl 2 minutes before, and she didn't say hello or anything.

I was in need of a community for my aunt that offered help in her journey with Dementia. I was referred to StoryPoint and upon walking through the doors, I immediately felt I found the right place. Noah showed us around, he was so knowledgeable, personable and he greeted all residents by their first name. The entire community was clean and each room was actually better than expected. They have a wonderful meal plan and so many activities to offer their residents. We had some issues with my aunts current board and care and Linda and Katherine rolled up their sleeves and jumped right in and took charge. I’ve never felt so comfortable and at ease then I did that day. My aunt is THRIVING now and I owe it all to StoryPoint and their staff! Thank you from the bottom of my heart!

I needed to find an assisted living home for my father and the staff at Story Point helped me navigate everything from day one. They even helped figure out my father's furniture which needed to be moved quickly. They were and still are so kind to my father and to me and I've enjoyed getting to know the staff even better. The individual room/apartments are very nice and updated. The entire facility is always clean when I visit and they seem to really care about making nice areas for the residences. Dad was a loner and didn't want to come out of his room at first but with the encouragement of the staff, he's now eating in the common dining area and watching football games on the big TV. He is telling me how much he likes it every time I talk to him. What a relief that he is finally thriving! Thanks Story Point!

I moved my mother into StoryPoint a few months ago as her memory loss and general age required a higher level of care. The transition has been great. The facility has recently been renovated, but much of the staff has been there for a long time and are wonderful. My mother has been happy and it has been a tremendous relief for me. The staff really cares! I can't recommend StoryPoint more.

When you find your elderly father with worsening dementia you have to make quick decisions as to how to care for him. We really lucked out when we placed him and his little Bishon dog at Storypoint! He loves it there! His one bedroom apartment is perfect and the staff are exceptional! The food is great and I can’t say that about many places. We really thought he would only last a few months and now he’s going on 4 years at Storypoint even through a pandemic!

My in-laws have moved into StoryPoint Knoxville West. We chose it after going there. It's a small community. It's newer. Everything is brand new in it. The people were very personable, and they worked with us to get what we need for my husband's parents. His parents enjoyed the activities there. The meals are done by a chef and they're very good. We have eaten there. My in-laws are very happy. They're there for three weeks now.

I give it two thumbs up. I picked this community for my mom because of its convenience to where I live and convenience to her doctors. The staff is also really good from top to bottom. She doesn't participate that much in their activities because she has limited mobility. She has her own bathroom, her room is just like a big suite with a bath in it. She has her furniture, two reclining chairs, and it's pretty spacious.

My dad moved in, and it's very good so far. It's very conducive to my father's style of living, they help him when he needs it, and leave him alone when he doesn't. The staff is very friendly and very professional. His room fits his needs, he has a small kitchenette, a private bath, a private room, and I got cable TV service for him. They have a dining room in the facility, and it's more of a restaurant style, the food is institutional, but it's adequate. They have group singing, games, exercises, and outings.

My father is in the memory care unit. They take good care of their residents. For me, the facility location is really convenient, and the grounds are very nicely kept up. They also have a bus that takes the residents to doctors' appointments and things like that. There's a full schedule of activities that they post for the month and for the day. There is a lot of variety there. They have different sized rooms. He's in a studio apartment and it has a large window and its own bathroom.

I liked it because of the marketing director, Sarah. She was very sweet. She was in a meeting when we got there, so this young man took us around and then she caught up with us. She was very accommodating and helpful. It was a surprise to me that she was very knowledgeable about the insurances. The staff was very nice and the place was beautiful.

It appeared to be clean, and the people seemed to be very kind. The rooms were very small, and that was the drawback on it. The staff seemed knowledgeable and seemed to care about the patients that were there. They knew their names and were friendly with them.

I went and it looked like a nice place in a more pastoral community. The lady who showed me around was very knowledgeable about other places. She talked about competitors with positive notes. I was kind of impressed. The room was nice, but it was small. It had a built-in refrigerator and a microwave. The facility looked fairly new and modern. It was very clean.

The memory unit had very huge heavy bars around the patio, and it looked out on a busy street. We were just not impressed with that part of it. Otherwise, it seemed to be very nice, and the people seemed to be very nice. The rooms were average sized. It had a very nice garden. The thing that put us off was the bars rather than some nice fencing in the memory unit. It looked like the outside of a lion's cage at the zoo. But physically, it was great. Everything looked good. It was a very nice clean place, and it was well taken care of. People coming and going seemed to be bright, and there were a lot of people who were very mobile. In the conversations we had with them, they didn't seem to have as many organized activities as the other places did.

The mother of my boyfriend is here, and they're doing a good job. They provide her meals, they manage her medicine, and the activities director provides outings twice a week. They take her to her doctor's appointments. They have bingo, games, cards, a happy hour once a week, and religious services on Sundays. It's a very attractive well-maintained property. They allow their clients to come and go without having a locked front door, which is nice.

Everything in here is excellent. It is a very lovely place. The staff is great. Their residents seem happy there. They are coming and going a lot, so they're seem more independent. I had a meal there and the food was very good. They do have a calendar or schedule of activities and it looks like there are three or four activities everyday. Their rooms are nice. Everything is very clean. They are lovely. What I like best about this place is that overall, it is very open and clean. I would definitely recommend this place to others.
