The Best Assisted Living Communities in Loudon County, TN

"Northshore Heights Located in Knoxville was my second choice for my dad. It was very nice and has a very open area, a big open meal room, which is where you first walk into. It's very clean and updated, and the staff were very nice. I only met one or two of them, and they were nice. They actually came and assessed my dad when he was in rehab, but I wasn't very impressed with them when they pretty much told me very bluntly that my dad didn't qualify for assisted living at that time, and they just didn't say anything else. I didn't appreciate that. I think the majority of their rooms were private. The one I looked at was private, but they did show one that was the most expensive room they had. It was kind of a combined room where a couple could live in, it was one room that was combined with another. They had a living area. Their room options were nice, but they didn't have any built-in shelves or anything fancy like that. They had a nice building and had nice amenities as well. Their whole building, facilities, and everything were updated."

"I visited. The facilities and the memory care units seemed nice. It was very clean and didn't have an odor. The dining area looked fine and nice. It was close to a hospital and mall. "

"I was in need of a community for my aunt that offered help in her journey with Dementia. I was referred to StoryPoint and upon walking through the doors, I immediately felt I found the right place. Noah showed us around, he was so knowledgeable, personable and he greeted all residents by their first name. The entire community was clean and each room was actually better than expected. They have a wonderful meal plan and so many activities to offer their residents. We had some issues with my aunts current board and care and Linda and Katherine rolled up their sleeves and jumped right in and took charge. I’ve never felt so comfortable and at ease then I did that day. My aunt is THRIVING now and I owe it all to StoryPoint and their staff! Thank you from the bottom of my heart!"

"I like the people at American House West Knoxville, and I like the overall place itself. It's not a small place, and they have things for the people. They all seem to love the people there. The staff is excellent. They're very interested in the people, and they are taking good care of them. My brother's room is very nice. It's a good-sized room and very efficient because of a wheelchair. He is in assisted living, and he has been there for two weeks now. The dining area is very nice, and they give them a list, and they let them choose. For activities, they play bingo, and they have some people play music. It's very nice. Value for money is OK."

"My mom is in Sterling House and one of the things that I like best is the general feeling of the staff and the residents that are already there. Everything seems to be so positive. Every member of the staff that I run into is very willing to help. They seem to care about the individuals they are working with, which are the residents. They have quite a bit of activities. They have religious services on Sundays, which my mom likes. They have crafts. During this Christmas Season there are choirs coming in. They have a bus service and they have outside activities at least once a week. They also take them to the local mall and to the stores like Walmart and Target. They took a tour of Cage Cove, which is in the mountain here. When we ask my Mom about the food, she said it is delicious. "

"Before I moved to Tennessee my son and daughter-in-law visited several facilities on my behalf. We decided on The Groves in Oak Ridge and I moved into a studio apt a week ago. So far I am very happy here and feel like it's a good fit."

"It was a newer place and it showed. It had an open feeling when you first walk in, like a "let's get together" kind of atmosphere. The person who assisted me was very enthusiastic and really knew her stuff. She made me feel welcome. The food was very good and nicely served."

"My mother is a resident at Brookdale Browns Creek, an assisted living facility. It's so nice, and a lot better than where she used to be. She never left her room there, but this place can't keep her in her room because she's out socializing and doing all kinds of stuff. She's happy, and she enjoys it there. The food is good, and people are really nice to her, so she's got a lot of friends. Her room is a studio-type, and it's what she wanted. They have bingo that she goes to twice a week. They also have all kinds of activities going on. They even go on outings where they take a couple of groups out someplace every week. They stay pretty busy there."

"My father moved in. He is enjoying being there. He really enjoys the food. They have a great variety of different meals. He has a two-room apartment, and it's very nice. His comment was that it felt like he was home. He loves the staff. Everybody is friendly, outgoing, quick to answer questions, and helps if my dad needs it. They have activities every day, exercise, and yoga. They bring people in to entertain. They have trips planned. They have a barber/beauty shop and an ice cream parlor. They have a park-like setting all the way around the building."

"My dad has moved into South Knoxville Senior Living. It is assisted living, but they're not as assisted as I would have liked. It's a new place. It's small, but it's nice. Instead of being stacked on top of each other, it's 6 independent units with 13 residents in each unit. They're renovating several of them. There are six altogether, and I think they have four going on right now. Two of the buildings are empty, and they're working on them. The staff members are very nice. They're fine. We're having a little problem with the activities. They need more activities, but the Senior Center for Knoxville is right around the corner, and that has things all day, every day. Each unit has a library and a place to sit and read, and each building has its own kitchen facility. The 13 residents that are in the building can have their meals right there, but they're not all operating yet. Right now, they only have two of the kitchens going. My dad says the food is good, but I don't know personally. It looks fine, though. I walked in for dinner one night, and everybody was happy."

"It was a beautiful facility. The lady who gave us the tour was very nice and very informative."

"Trinity Hills of Knoxville was OK. Caroline, the girl who took us on the tour, was fantastic, knowledgeable, helpful, and very friendly. She was great. The rooms were a little more basic and plain."

"Wellington Manor of Knoxville was clean. The only thing that I noticed is that they might have been short of help, but I think many places run into that. The living spaces were great, and the rooms were set up good. They can bring their own furniture. The kitchen looked clean. The staff members were very helpful and very courteous, but it appeared that they were very busy, and sometimes, residents had to wait."

"My father-in-law has moved into The Neighborhood at Tellico Village assisted living. He's 101 and he loves the food there. They have been very, very helpful and Christina has been great. We have had some great communication. We moved my father-in-law over first then my husband drove back across the country and now we're back the third time. They've been very communicative. We borrowed one of their beds for him temporarily until we got back over there and they've been great about loaning that. When my husband was in transit, they had a respite room that they let him stay in for free so it's just been an amazing experience. They have a library, a chapel, an in-house doctor, a physical therapy in the house and they have a workout room with that. You name it and they have every amenity you can think of. He is currently already more involved in the activities at this location too than he ever was in any of the other places. They not only have good activities, but they encourage him to join in and include him much better than the last place he was in."
