The Best Nursing Home Communities in Loudon County, TN

"My stepmom will be moving to Diversicare of Oak Ridge. I chose it because they can give the level of care that she needs and all the staff members were very polite. When I went there, I felt very at home. The staff was nice and I like where it's located, it's not so busy. The grounds looked good and it had a beautiful view from the rooms. I haven't tried the food but I was able to look at the menus. They have a lot of activities that you can belong to, and they were very accommodating in trying to help my stepmom get acclimated and get involved in some of the activities. It's located not too far from some medical facilities, and the area around it is up-and-coming, they're building nice restaurants and stuff like that."

"My mother-in-law is currently at NHC in Oak Ridge, and she is getting very good care. I have noticed that mornings are more lively, and that might be a good time to make a first visit to check it out. All staff have been very friendly and caring with her (and us!). "

"I was a resident for about 2 months and I had great care from nursing and rehab staff. I was unable to stand and transfer on my own but when I left I was able to walk with my walker due to therapies hard work with me. "

"My Dad spent the last 4 years of his life here. He dad Parkinson's disease so it was impossible for me to care for him at home. There was a group of 6 residents who shared lunch and dinner in the common area on their floor. They were very close knit. The staff loved my Dad. In fact, several of them came to the memorial service we had for him in the chapel at Shannondale. I could not have been more pleased with Shannondale! "

"This nursing home was very appealing "from the curb." The facility was very pretty and had nice landscaping. The only exterior problem was a need for a paint job. The entrance was not too flashy, but offered enough room for multiple people to pass at once with ease. The staff was very friendly at first, but then started to get slightly aggravated at my party as time elapsed. I can say that they "appeared" to be friendly to the residents, but I can not prove wether it was a put-on or not. The rooms were nice and spacious, and the residence as a whole was very comfortable. "

"This is a model facility. So impressed with everything they do. Nurses and everyone there are top notch and I cannot say enough good things. They have daily events and keep the residents engaged when possible. The day I took my father there birthday celebrations were taking place with live music and an ice cream social. The rooms are spacious, staff friendly and professional. If your loved one is a veteran you don't need to look any further. Just take a tour and you will see that this facility is second to none."

"My wife has moved into Renaissance Terrace Community Living Center for rehab. I like the fact that the entire staff seems to be very dedicated, very conscientious, and very, you know, very dedicated towards helping people, like a lot of other medical facilities around the very shorthanded. They're doing their best to work with her. She has a lot going on and they're doing their very best to help her out. Again, a somewhat larger staff would help, but in the places that we've been this year so far, everybody is understaffed. So, nothing new, so I rate them pretty high. The overall staff that is here, I would rate high. They were very thorough explaining things, and again, we could use more people, but the ones that they have here are very good. It isn't necessarily their fault, but they do have COVID restrictions, so I can't go in there and look around. They do have a gym. It's not huge and spacious like the place we were at. Right now, she's covered by Medicare. I don't even know what the billing is."

"Brakebill has a very caring environment with good quality of care. The staff working there was good. They were good to her and to us. The place was very clean, and there was no smell. "

"Asbury Place is in my town, and I have always known about it. We started off at assisted living, but my mother-in-law wasn't functioning well enough, so she is in a nursing facility right now, but when she gets stronger, maybe she can go back to assisted living. I was happy with it, but I hate that it was so expensive. The room was very nice, and I was happy with it, but the nursing home was kind of stinky. The assisted living did lots of activities. They play games, and they have church on Sundays. They have a lot of outings too. I was very pleased with the staff, but it needs to be not so expensive though. "

"Extremely passionate care of Alzheimer patients and families. Above all, the knowledge and patience shown by the staff was over and above what we had experienced with the first and previous facility which will remain nameless. Due to a few incidents, which we never witnessed, the first facility was closed by Medicare. We were forced to move dad within a couple of months. Very traumatizing for dad, as he had progressed to barely knowing his closest family members (all but mom) in a short time. That's where Bridges came in. The facility that closed was a few miles from me (oldest daughter) and 45 miles from my sister. When we moved dad to Bridges of Rockwood it was closer to my sister but about the same 45 miles for me. But was worth it and a great decision we made as a family. Dad was @ Bridges until he passed in August, 2012. The staff was the best @ Bridges. My mom insisted on going everyday or at least 6 out of the 7 days per week. I so admire her dedication and devotion, however, felt sorry for the ones who endured her endless concerns. Bless her. I would highly recommend this facility to anyone who needs long-term care for a loved one. Particularly, a loved one with Alzheimer's. "The food wasn’t that good at Patricia Neal Rehabilitation Center, but the staff was awesome. There was probably one nurse that didn’t seem to get along with my mom that well. My mother didn’t want me to leave because she felt that the lady was hateful to her, but other than that, I think that it was really good. They tried to work with her, and they did an excellent job. Sometimes there was a smell because it’s in the hospital, but the cleanliness is good. "
