We went to Baptist Health Care Center. The people were friendly. I thought they were straightforward, and I had no issues with the staff in terms of how they treated us. When you walk down the hall, you can see the interactions with the residents, and that felt really positive. However, the amenities weren't quite the same as a newer refurbished facility.

If you visit your family member on a regular basis and make surprise visits, they may be OK. Unfortunately, I know from experience that the residents that do not have family experience neglect. i.e...the change of underwear happens at their convenience, they are likely to suffer from bed sores, most experience weight loss as they are not fed as they should be fed.

This facility is not that great. My cousin resides in this facility, but he is not elderly. He was involved in a car accident a couple years back and is paralyzed, and he has to stay in a nursing home, because it is too much of a responsibility for his family. The facility is located a while away from me, so I only get to visit from time to time. Every time that I go to visit him, the facility is filled with a foul, putrid odor. It smells as if it hasn't been up kept in a very long time. It is a very small facility, with too many patients. They need to upgrade the place, or transfer some patients to another facility. They barely have enough rooms to house all of the patients, so I don't know what they would do if they got more patients in. They are late every day, bringing the patients meals around as well. The decision is not up to me to keep my cousin at this place, it is up to his parents. I have no clue why they allow him to stay here, because even they complain about it. I am trying my best to convince them, to move him. The only bright side to this facility is that they have a friendly staff.
