My dad was a former resident of Summerville Estates. It's a beautiful place. It's shiny. It's sparkly. I would live there. The meals were good, but it's independent living. It's just an apartment where they serve you meals, and the housekeeping is very light. They're not willing to help your elderly person with anything. You're on your own. It's just an apartment for older people with no health problems or issues. They really sold me on the movie room. It was cute. They had a movie theater and played movies every night at 7:00. The whole month he was there, there was not one movie played. So that was disappointing. I'm like, why are you advertising that if it doesn't really happen? The food was good. They did have a little library. That was nice. They did have an office area if anybody wanted to use a computer. That was nice, too. There really wasn't anything rallying people around, like typically there's an activity director in charge. "Hey, let's all do this," there's none of that. It's like you either come or you don't come. "Here's a bulletin, you can read it." So there wasn't that sense of community that I was expecting that they advertised to me.

Summerville Estates was a beautiful facility. I had a meal there and it was lovely. It was Memorial Day and I think I had a barbecue. They were doing a cookout-themed type thing. They had a variety so you could choose. It was great. They had a beautiful garden area and the open areas were very nice. The staff were amazing.

Summerville Estates was too expensive, but it was all lovely. The staff was very friendly. Everybody we talked to was great. Everything was very clean and kept well. It was gorgeous. They had a library, a computer room, a game room, a very nice eating facility, an outdoor facility, and gardens. It was very nice.

I toured Summerville Estates. I had a hard time choosing between them and the one I ended up with because they had everything that I wanted. The staff helped me so much, that the person that was going to take me on the tour got one of the residents to come and eat with us because he had to do some things. And she took me up to her apartment and she showed me. The food was very good and it was a beautiful place. There's a horse farm behind it, they have a beautiful place out in the common area with flowers and stuff. They have a gardening group there, it has a pond, and it has a dog park. It was very clean and everything looked good. It's not very far from downtown Summerville, which has lots of shopping and stuff, and it's not far from a hospital.

My mom is in independent living at Summerville Estates. I like it because it is clean. It is a really nice place. They have the cafeteria or dining area, where they go sit out and eat. They have a movie theater, where you can go watch a movie just like the regular theaters. They have an activity room, where you can play bingo and all that. They have a beauty salon. My mom can go get her hair done. They have a place outside where they can walk and sit out there. It's really nice. My mom has a door to her room from the outside and inside. The room's really nice. It has the set up in the shower with a bench you can sit on. They have all the things you can hold on to if you're going to fall or something. They have the cords there that you can pull up for emergency if you need someone. They have a church. They have people coming in in the dining area and singing. They have a piano there and all kinds of stuff. I love the place. I want to go there.

Summerville Estates was pretty good and decent. I think it's a little high-priced. They definitely have a good setup there as far as helping people and getting the seniors where they need to go. I saw a studio and a one-bedroom, and they were definitely clean and spacious. I think they're overpriced, but as far as being clean and spacious, the one-bedroom is better than the studio because it is literally just one room. They have a common room and a library. The staff was very good. They take them on little field trips and they have bingo. However, I think they have a lot of property, and that they could do a lot better with more stuff for the seniors.

My mother is a resident of Summerville Estates. It is an established place from mom's hometown. She rents an apartment from them, all her meals are served in the dining room, or if she's not feeling well, they will bring her meals into her apartment. They have housekeeping, and maintenance has been wonderful for some things that we've had adjustments on. She's there with a number of her friends, and friends that she's made when she arrived. They have a variety of floor plans to accommodate the handicap, as well as people that don't feel comfortable having to go up and down stairs or in the elevator to mealtimes as she's on the first floor. Prior to COVID, they offered all kinds of games in the activity room, offered singing every Monday, and there's actually a lady there now that plays during concerts, and before and after dinner.

My Mother has lived here for several years. Very much a 5 star rating for the first couple years. However there has been a dramatic downturn in amenities, food and now cleanliness. The current manager seems not to be concerned about the infestation of roaches hitting the Estates. Three apartments near my Mother have been complaining about roaches for over a month. Now I am told they are crawling on her walls as well. Time to search for a different facility. I advise you to as well.

Summerville Estates' people in charge were heavy duty salespeople, which I really disliked. The rooms are very nice and they have a very wide variety of activities. They have a library, a computer room, and a theater. They have very nice amenities. The dining area was really nice, and the meals are very good and carefully chosen for your health. The only downfall is that the management team was more friendly to us when trying to sell us a space than to the people sitting in the dining room alone.

We liked Summerville Estates very much and are even considering it now. We saw the roomy apartments. There was nothing somebody in independent living could ask for that they didn't have there. It was a very nice community with nice staff. They had bridge, poker, movies, Bible studies, and everything else. Lunch was a gourmet meal and the food was excellent.

My mom lives at Summerville and seems to be fine. Everything is working fine. She has a studio with a small kitchenette with refrigerator and sink. They have a cafeteria which serves three meals a day, games, and people who come to entertain them. I've eaten once there. My mother said the food was delicious, and they also serve snacks. The staff is very nice, very good, very polite, and concerned about anything.

Summerville Estates is a very nice facility. It is very clean and very well-kept. Members of management live on the premises and interact with the residents daily. The rooms are very clean and roomy. They have some rooms that are designated handicap-accessible. There are studios, one-bedroom units, and two-bedroom units available. The dining room has about 50 round tables that seat four to five people, and the food is good. Residents get three well-balanced meals. The residents have choices, and the staff is very accommodating. The price is reasonable, and the facility is nice. I would highly recommend it.

Summerville Estates was more like a hotel, but Michael would be on his own, and he needs assisted living. It was very nice, clean, and fancy. The grounds were very nice and the price was adequate; it was definitely in our price range. There was a gentleman that was going to donate some of his things, so they had storage for Michael that I thought was nice. It was nice, but we just didn’t feel like putting him in independent living.

Our experience with Summerville Estates has been very pleasant. We are pleased with my mother-in-law's room, the way it is kept clean, and the friendliness of the place. They have activities like exercise, card games, movies, music during lunch, and different holiday things. It is close to Trident Hospital. I don't know exactly how far, but that is the one she uses. I think it is called assisted retirement living as far as providing meals and taking care of the room. Other than that, we pay extra people to come in and help take care of her. We ate there on a regular basis with her, and the food is good.
