"The staff at Stratford Place was interactive. The people were not just sitting in their wheelchairs. It was a clean facility. The staff was interacting with the people that were there, though not quite as interactive as you would see over at the other location. The good thing about it is it was a small facility. When we walked in the memory care unit, a lady was singing a gorgeous song, and they were all interactive and sitting around and listening to her. The director there knew the people's names. He was new, but he already knew them. We started with assisted living and then we went up to the memory care. You could probably go into assisted living and then later get to memory care because they had the capability to work on it because it's a small area. They had interactive games. They had an activities director who was very nice, and she had a family member that was there, so to bring your own family in there is a plus. They had activities to do on a routine basis. The residents were making door wreaths and stuff. They had a lady helping them with that activity. They were doing activities, which is good because with memory care you want them to be doing something, even if they can't do that, they can glue a flower to a wreath, and that's good. The rooms were nice, but not as nice as the other location."

"My mom lives at Summerville and seems to be fine. Everything is working fine. She has a studio with a small kitchenette with refrigerator and sink. They have a cafeteria which serves three meals a day, games, and people who come to entertain them. I've eaten once there. My mother said the food was delicious, and they also serve snacks. The staff is very nice, very good, very polite, and concerned about anything."

"Overture West Ashley 55+ Apartment Homes has stellar customer service. They whole thing is great and doesn't have an institutionalized feel, but they don't offer any medical services. They're clearly for older people that are healthy and don't have any medical problems. They're going to put a lot of emphasis on the aesthetics of the property and the apartments. The staff is excellent, and they go over and above; for example, they give you snacks. When you walk through the door they actually put your name like "Welcome Mr. So and So" right on the screen like you're the only one there. They give you a lot of personal attention and have a beautiful array of food in the refrigerator, with snacks and drinks. They give you mugs, glasses, and pens. They roll out the red carpet; it's a very tailored and boutique service."

"I'm at Overture Daniel Island. It's very nice, new, and well kept. They have different activities. They take you to different places around the community. They have music that they bring in sometimes at night. They have a game room and just normal things that you find in places like this. The staff was very friendly and very nice. They have a bicycle you could use, they have a game room, a swimming pool, a gym, and yoga classes. I make my own food, but you can order out if you want to. Their price is a little high."

"It is a very nice place, and they do have service until the end of life. They have a lot more facilities. I know several people that live there. I would recommend the place if they have the money since it is a very nice place. The rooms are spacious. They have all the way from separate apartments to houses to single rooms. They offer a wide selection since everyone comes in with a different price. "

"I went to look here, and I liked it very much. When I first got there, I was walking out of the lady's office that was showing me around, and a lot of different people came up to me and introduced themselves. They said, "Are you going to move here? You would love it here." I was really impressed with that. I thought the dining room was very nice, clean, spacious, and the tables were not too close together. The person who gave me the tour was very nice. She was always there and answered questions for me. She was very personable. They have an indoor swimming pool, a golf tee, a workout room, and a theater. I did not see a beauty salon, but I think they have one or two chairs where people can get a haircut. It was a beautiful place."

"I'm on a waiting list for South Bay at Mount Pleasant. I was very impressed with the place, and I think it's five years old, and it's very, very clean. The girl I talked to knew exactly what she should have been telling me. I think she was from Penn State, a young lady. She was very knowledgeable, very nice. We were very impressed with her. The apartments are very nice, it's just a nice place. The apartments are up to like 1,900 square feet, which is huge, and you don't have to buy in, which is a big plus. They have everything there that you need. They have cards, painting lessons, exercise classes, and it was actually very close to an area which had restaurants and veterinarian care if you had an animal. We went to where lunch was being served, and it looked very good."

"We moved into Somerby Mount Pleasant. This community has a number of educated people. There is a large proportion of men which helps my husband a lot. It doesn't have all the facilities that some of the other communities have, but for us, the intellectual stimulation is worth everything. Sometimes, the food is good and sometimes it's not."

"I have a family member who is a resident. The staff is great with her!! They keep her entertained and busy so she is active throughout the day. The facility is clean and they did a nice job navigating through the pandemic! The current Director, Katie, is the best director they have had to date. She is very knowledgeable on how to run the assisted living. I would recommend this assisted living to others who are looking for a place for their loved ones. "

"My mom moved into Merrill Gardens at Carolina Park. It's been very good, I'm very happy, and she is too. They're still quarantined, everybody that lives there including the staff had their vaccine given, the last shot is coming up shortly, and they're gonna start relaxing some of the restrictions, but continuing to observe most of it until things get better. They get three meals a day, she can do video calls, house cleaning once a week, she's got a washer and dryer in her apartment, and they have social times, bridge clubs, rummikub clubs, regular cards, game boards, they do exercises, and they also have happy hour. That's a pretty full service, and we're very happy. It's very close to where we live, it's like four miles away, and there's a hospital half a mile away. It's a very good value, and it's actually less than everybody else."
