"I went and saw Harmony at Wescott. It was beautiful and new. The facility was nice, bright, and open. It had all the amenities. It was just too far from where I live, and there was a lot of traffic to get to it. They had a salon, a gym, and occupational and physical therapy onsite. The staff were all good. There was nothing wrong with the facility, other than where it was located."

They offer activities. My sister hasn't participated in anything off-site, but she likes puzzles and anything to stimulate the mind. She's got more than enough to do there. My sister has a microwave and a fridge in her room. They had no pool. They have a lounge area, a game room, a cafeteria, and movies."

"My mom is in independent living at Summerville Estates. I like it because it is clean. It is a really nice place. They have the cafeteria or dining area, where they go sit out and eat. They have a movie theater, where you can go watch a movie just like the regular theaters. They have an activity room, where you can play bingo and all that. They have a beauty salon. My mom can go get her hair done. They have a place outside where they can walk and sit out there. It's really nice. My mom has a door to her room from the outside and inside. The room's really nice. It has the set up in the shower with a bench you can sit on. They have all the things you can hold on to if you're going to fall or something. They have the cords there that you can pull up for emergency if you need someone. They have a church. They have people coming in in the dining area and singing. They have a piano there and all kinds of stuff. I love the place. I want to go there."

"I'm at Overture Daniel Island. It's very nice, new, and well kept. They have different activities. They take you to different places around the community. They have music that they bring in sometimes at night. They have a game room and just normal things that you find in places like this. The staff was very friendly and very nice. They have a bicycle you could use, they have a game room, a swimming pool, a gym, and yoga classes. I make my own food, but you can order out if you want to. Their price is a little high."

"Overture West Ashley was beautiful. The staff members were excellent. The rooms were gorgeous, spacy, airy, and well-lit. The surroundings were very upscale and very attractive. They have a heated pool. They have physical activities, games, movie nights, and that sort of thing. It's a beautiful building in nice surroundings and adjacent to a shopping center."

"We toured and it was very nice, clean, bright, and airy. Everybody seemed happy there. We liked it, and it is one of our two finalists. All the residents seemed well taken care of and happy. "I've been to visit Bishop Gadsden several times for work, and I've always been impressed with the facility. The grounds are immaculate, and the staff have always been friendly and helpful. Although I don't personally know any of the residents, the dining facilities and hallways looked spotless during every visit. It would seem that the senior here have a very active social schedule, and a pair of residents recently became the oldest couple in history to take exchange wedding vows! "

"I'm on a waiting list for South Bay at Mount Pleasant. I was very impressed with the place, and I think it's five years old, and it's very, very clean. The girl I talked to knew exactly what she should have been telling me. I think she was from Penn State, a young lady. She was very knowledgeable, very nice. We were very impressed with her. The apartments are very nice, it's just a nice place. The apartments are up to like 1,900 square feet, which is huge, and you don't have to buy in, which is a big plus. They have everything there that you need. They have cards, painting lessons, exercise classes, and it was actually very close to an area which had restaurants and veterinarian care if you had an animal. We went to where lunch was being served, and it looked very good."

"Merrill Gardens at Carolina Park was wonderful. The meals and staff members were above average. Everything was beautiful. It's the best layout I've ever seen for memory care, but it's a little pricey. The rooms were very nice and very well laid out. They had studios and shared rooms. I like that if the wife or the husband progresses more and one of them needs to be moved to memory care, they don't have to go into the memory care unit. They can stay where they're at with their wife or husband and they will get the same care because the rooms are up to code for both types of care. The only problem is they're understaffed."
