"I toured The Village at Summerville and we really liked the grounds, as well as the independent living stand alone bungalows and cottage kind of homes. We liked the activities. I also liked the friendliness of the people and the physical activities that were available. The staff was very helpful, very friendly, and very knowledgeable too."

"My mom is at Hallmark Health Care Center, and she likes the place a lot. She said she doesn’t mind being there. She really hasn’t complained about anything. Mom had a hip surgery, and she said that their rehab is awesome. Her room is of good size, and she shares with another lady. It’s a clean room. Mom plays bingo I think once or twice a week, and they have church on Sundays. They play music, and they all sit around and talk. At most times, the have a very well set up atmosphere for all the guests to come and join in. the place is very clean, and they have a garden section with a gazebo. It was absolutely gorgeous. "

"We visited Oakbrook Health & Rehab and it seemed to be great. I liked that it was secured and you had to be approved to get in. "

"The residents were very well taken care of at this facility. I and my fellow students had plenty of opportunities to meet the requirements we needed to get closer to our career goals, as the residents needs regarding their health, comfort, and quality of life were all addressed. As I had to personally handle many tasks to get them through the day, I can say with confidence they never had to do anything themselves that would compromise their safety or make them uncomfortable when it could be avoided.Regular activities always gave residents things to do to enjoy their stays as much as possible, the array of things wasn't massive but it was enough to help quell their boredom. The residents clearly enjoyed the activities and interacting with one another.I would say we the students were quite welcome by the facility as despite their good intentions they were a little understaffed. I do wonder if there is more of a struggle to maintain things when the extra hands weren't around to help, but if so, it wouldn't be due to lack of effort. The employees clearly cared about and enjoyed what they did. "

"Wellmore Daniel Island is very nice and lovely. It was a beautiful building. There's a washer and dryer and walk-in shower. The staff was very nice and the fellow I talked to was terrific. The location was pretty good, and really close to Mount Pleasant. You also have the option for transportation. It's also expensive."

"During the cardiac surgery, they hit my wife's nerve that paralyzed half of her diaphragm so she had a bit of a problem and had to undergo rehab. She was in two different hospitals and at Riverside for 80 days post surgery. It's excellent. They have a special wing for cardiopulmonary and that's where my wife was. They have another wing for Alzheimer's and the majority of it is nursing home care. Their rehab was really good. They worked with her two or three times a day. Outstanding service. "

"My elderly mother went to Heartland for rehab after having cardiac surgery, and was in the facility for 3 weeks from January 2016 to early February 2016. It was the first time she had stayed in a rehab facility. I was anxious about how she would be treated as she can be difficult to get along with. Everyone at Heartland, from the receptionist at the front desk, to the people who cleaned her room, brought the meals, physical therapists, nurses, nurse practioners, and the doctor, were unbelievably kind and caring. My mother had had physical therapy before in her home when she had knee surgery, and her interaction with the physical therapist was not successful; however, the physical therapists at Heartland were patient, compassionate, and didn't give up on her, and her physical therapy was a success. The nurses, doctor, and nurse practitioner always took the time to listen to her, explain their plans to help her, and tell her what those plans would accomplish. Probably the best compliment that could be given to everyone at Heartland came from my mother on the day she was discharged: she said that if she had to go to a rehab facility again, she'd return to Heartland. "

"My father-in-law was at NHC HealthCare, Charleston for respite care. We had a good experience with them. It was a really nice facility. The residents there were nice. The staff was really helpful. They were willing to listen to what you had to say. His room was nice and clean. The residents there interact with each other. My father-in-law got to meet a lot of friends, and he really liked it there. They played bingo, and they sang songs. The only thing I didn't like about that place was they did not change his diapers that often."

"My mom was a resident of Oak Harbor Care Center. They were caring and they took care of her very well. She was in the shared room, and that was not a problem. It might have been better for her to have that social interaction. This place is affordable and they have everything they need. We were there when she was eating and the food looked fine, and she enjoyed it all. She is getting all the care she needs and social interaction she needs at a normal price."

"I visited my mother-in-law and my husband. My mother-in-law just passed away last night. They were very, very cooperative in letting the family in a safe, Covid-free environment with protection following safety guidelines and in PPE just to say our goodbyes. She has been there for several years, and my husband has been there for months now, and they have done a wonderful job for caring for the needs of both my mother-in-law, and my husband."

"My mother is currently at this facility in the Angel Oak area. This place is dismal at best. No dining room, residents/patients eat in the common area. The food I saw looked terrible, very low quality. There is a menu posted with food choices but did not see any of the servers ask what anyone would like to eat. The servers didn't even wear gloves. It's very noisy, mostly from the nurses aids that I found to be extremely inattantive and spent the majority of their time talking amongst themselves and/or playing music on their phones. One day there were 3 of them at the center desk filling out their LOTTO tickets!!! Most walk around looking at their phones. Saw almost NO intereaction with the residents. The rooms are TINY but easonably clean. The ONLY possitive was the physical therapist, he was great! Really showed a genuine interest in getting my mother more mobile. Check the states review of this facility, there were many issues that were reported in 2018. My opinion, stay away from this place. I am currently working on getting my mother moved to another facility ASAP. "
