The Village at Summerville didn't seem as institutional as a lot of nursing homes are and the staff was very friendly and very caring, so we chose this facility for my mother. It's a very clean and nice place. The best thing about it is the care that they give to their residents.

The residents were very well taken care of at this facility. I and my fellow students had plenty of opportunities to meet the requirements we needed to get closer to our career goals, as the residents needs regarding their health, comfort, and quality of life were all addressed. As I had to personally handle many tasks to get them through the day, I can say with confidence they never had to do anything themselves that would compromise their safety or make them uncomfortable when it could be avoided.Regular activities always gave residents things to do to enjoy their stays as much as possible, the array of things wasn't massive but it was enough to help quell their boredom. The residents clearly enjoyed the activities and interacting with one another.I would say we the students were quite welcome by the facility as despite their good intentions they were a little understaffed. I do wonder if there is more of a struggle to maintain things when the extra hands weren't around to help, but if so, it wouldn't be due to lack of effort. The employees clearly cared about and enjoyed what they did.
