"We went to The Palms of Mt. Pleasant. The outdoor area and the garden area were beautiful and welcoming. They had lots of activities for their residents. It would be a great place for more of an assisted living type resident. We looked for the assisted living. There's a waiting list at this point. The staff who gave me the tour was very pleasant and very knowledgeable, and she gave lots of information to help me decide where a good place would be for my mom is. They had an art room and an exercise room. The dining area was like a restaurant."

"I thought Franke Home was a nice facility. It was a little pricey and, I think, they had some buy-ins, but they really were not clear about that. The only thing, there was just one meal a day. They seemed to have a whole list of activities going on. "

"I'm on The Claiborne at Brickyard Crossing's list. I've looked at others, but after I saw this one I liked this one much better. It's newer, it's only three years old, and it's a lot nicer. It has a lot to offer and a lot of activities. The people there are so nice. They have a heated swimming pool. They have water aerobics. There's just so many things going on there. You would get three meals, whereas the others were one meal a day. Everything is also impeccably clean. I saw the menu, and it was quite a nice menu. Another thing about them is that they invited us for lunch. They're the only ones that invited us for lunch, and it didn't matter to them how many people I took with me either."

"My experience with The Village at Summerville has been very good. I don't have any problems with them. It’s a little too far for me to drive there every day; otherwise, it’s a very good place for my husband. The rooms are small. He is in a one-bedroom. They don’t have any apartments available, but he is on a waiting list for one when it becomes available. The rooms are clean. The view from his room is a nice wooded area. His room is right near a sitting area where they have a refrigerator and a microwave oven, and he can use that if he needs something in-between meals to eat, so that’s very good. Before he was admitted, we had dinner with them, and it was very good. The price is a little bit less than most places I checked. He has been there for less than a month, but they have really done a good job of checking him out and keeping him happy there. "

"My mother is a current resident and has had a wonderful experience with the Royal Oaks. The staff are very respectful and warm as well as very professional. They is always something going on in the activity room or at the club house. "

"We checked out The Bridge. It was really homey, more like living in an apartment complex than an assisted living facility. It did not look so much like a hospital. The staff was wonderful. The coordinator-in-charge constantly communicated with us until we made a final decision on where we were going to put my father. Today, he continues to communicate with us to make sure that he has what he needs. If my father needs any help, he would be more than happy to lend a helping hand even though we were not going there. He is a caring person, as is the nursing staff that we met briefly when we were checking the facility out. They had activities like bingo, movies, and different entertainment periodically. They had a library and stuff like that. "

"Del Webb Charleston has a lot of nice facilities, and the houses are reasonable. We have a two-bedroom house, and we just like the whole area. They have many activities. They have indoor and outdoor pools, tennis courts, and a huge clubhouse with all kinds of events going on. It's huge. It's independent living, and you live in your own house. We like the people we've met. "

"We have toured a number of facilities in the area but settled on Wildcat Senior Living for my family member. The facility is beautiful and the grounds are immaculate. We loved the fact that it offered studio, one bedroom and two bedroom options and tons of amenities. The surrounding area has plenty of places to shop, eat or go for a walk which is nice when we want to take him for a day out. The staff is caring and on top of things whenever we have questions. The place is run by Kaley P. who is very hands-on and is accessible 24/7. Making a decision like this is never easy, but I feel extremely confident and secure knowing that my loved one is in great hands with Kaley P. and the staff at Wildcat as they always go above and beyond."

"I'm at Overture Daniel Island. It's very nice, new, and well kept. They have different activities. They take you to different places around the community. They have music that they bring in sometimes at night. They have a game room and just normal things that you find in places like this. The staff was very friendly and very nice. They have a bicycle you could use, they have a game room, a swimming pool, a gym, and yoga classes. I make my own food, but you can order out if you want to. Their price is a little high."

"Overture West Ashley was beautiful. The staff members were excellent. The rooms were gorgeous, spacy, airy, and well-lit. The surroundings were very upscale and very attractive. They have a heated pool. They have physical activities, games, movie nights, and that sort of thing. It's a beautiful building in nice surroundings and adjacent to a shopping center."

"We toured and it was very nice, clean, bright, and airy. Everybody seemed happy there. We liked it, and it is one of our two finalists. All the residents seemed well taken care of and happy. They pretty much had everything. We liked the fact that they had home care that came in. They also had physical and occupational therapy, a salon, and a gym."

"I have two friends that live at Bishop Gadsden. They are in the independent living. I went one time and played bridge there. It's more expensive than the other place. They have a wonderful dining room and all kinds of stations. It's like you're going to a restaurant or a buffet and serving yourself. That's really nice. I met the people serving and they are all very positive and very nice. Everybody is very friendly. The apartments are beautifully equipped. The residents can bring their own stuff if they want. At my friend's place they came in and cleaned the room. They would do her laundry if she wanted. She has a little kitchenette-type place in there, but she said she mostly went to the dining room. They have like two or three dining rooms, and they have one that is more upscale."
