"The Grove at Coastal Grand was absolutely beautiful, and awesome, everybody was really helpful, but it was way out of my price range. I liked everything but the price. The atmosphere was awesome. It was really good. I only met with one person on the staff, but they were really helpful. They went out of their way to be just extra courteous and, and very, very helpful and, and answering any questions I had. I saw all of the facilities. I saw a tour of everything there and actually talked to a person that lived there and they loved the place that they were at. They loved the idea of being independent, yet being taken care of. They kept as busy as you wanted it to be. There were patios and there were places to just sit and relax."

"I chose Watercrest Myrtle Beach because of the price point. They were the nicest place I found. I like everything. They have a whirlpool and an exercise room. They seem to have a lot of activities. The food was excellent. I'm going into a one-bedroom, and it's got a microwave and a small refrigerator in there."

"Garden Manor had small apartments. There was a library and a small place in the back where you could plant flowers. They served one nice big meal a day. If you wanted something for later in the evening, you could get a box of food to take with you. They would come and clean once a week. They went on trips for shopping in a van. It was just what I needed. The people were very nice, very friendly, and outgoing. "

"We toured the Magnolia Bridge at Murrells Inlet. The two people who took us on the tour were good. They were okay, but they were rushed. We didn't see much at all. We did see one apartment, but everything about that was older. Maybe I'm wrong, maybe it's newer, but it didn't seem that way. We did not like it as much as the others. It was in a separate building. You go outside to that, and maybe there was nothing available inside the main building, but she'd told us beforehand that she just had a limited amount of time. So, we did not see as much as we saw at the other one. The atmosphere was okay. It was good. It wasn't bad, it just wasn't up to the quality and the atmosphere of others. The halls were narrow, whereas the others were wide and spacious."

"We're choosing River Park Senior Living, LLC for my aunt because it's very convenient to all of their doctors' appointments and their doctor's offices. So it's just very convenient, very clean, and they have a lot of amenities there. They have a salon, and they go on little field trips, and it was all in all, the right choice. We saw a studio apartment and we also visited a 1-bedroom apartment. They were extremely clean, extremely roomy, spacious, and the bathroom was immaculate. They're excellent. They have karaoke, they have bingo, they have shuffleboard, they go to a show here in Myrtle Beach like when they look at the Christmas lights. They also have trivia, little dances, singing, and preaching. There's a lot that she would take part in. They also have a therapist that comes in daily and they also offer a salon where they have a girl come in 3 to 4 times a week. They take you to your doctor's appointments, they go get your medication. All in all, it's a beautiful place. They have private dining so the family can go and eat with the resident, and you can also check them out for a night or two or three."

"I visited The Lakes at Litchfield. It had everything -- independent, assisted, down to medical and to everything. I looked at the independent living and the bungalow. I looked at the dining facilities, and they were great. They had great gym facilities, and they shared an inside swimming pool facility with the next-door exercise and medical facility. They shared a golfing facility because they were a part of a golfing community, and every home had a golf cart. Once you moved in, you do not have to really use your car because every resident had a golf cart. It was a nice community. When I did the visit, I sat down and talked with the representatives. They were friendly and accommodating. It was in an upscale neighborhood. It was a country club type atmosphere because it was a part of the Litchfield Country Club. Everything that I saw seemed good. "

"Mom has been at Sunset Creek Commons for 4 years now. She has a really nice apartment there. She wears a medical alert necklace. The thing that I like the best is the manager and the maintenance help. They stay on top of things, and they are very responsive if there's an issue with the apartment. The place is very clean. They have a no smoking policy, which I like. If they catch someone smoking, then they are evicted. They go into the apartments twice a year to inspect them and make sure that people are keeping their apartments clean. If not, they are given a timeline of cleaning it up. They have a meeting room that they can use. Occasionally, they have a potluck dinner."
