The Best Assisted Living Communities in Georgetown County, SC

"I toured Indigo at Carolina Forest. I didn't find anything that we liked the least. It had everything that we were looking for especially companionship for my friend. The staff was great. Everybody bent over backward to show us what we wanted to see, and they were very friendly. The facility was very clean and very well organized. It felt like a home. It was very welcoming. Their rooms were the best size and layout of the five places we looked. They have big rooms. There are two bedrooms and two bathrooms. There is a small dining area and that's all we need."

"My mother is here. The staff is friendly and accommodating. They've been really wonderful to her and very helpful for us, too. They don't have lunch there. They just have breakfast and dinner; it would be great if they could also have lunch. It's a very nice facility, and there's a very full schedule of activities and events."

"Everyone was extremely helpful and kind! The food was amazing and the facility was very comfortable! We had every question answered and every follow up phone call returned immediately. My elderly mom absolutely loved The Lakes at Litchfield and so did I!"

"My mother-in-law lives in St. Gabriel Murrells Inlet. It's a nice facility, the people are very nice there. The apartments are very small, and to me, it was more like a hotel room than an apartment. My mother-in-law has not given it great reviews on the food. I haven't tasted any of the food there, because when we go visit, we take her out to eat. She likes the activities, they have a movie room there, they have arts and crafts, which she enjoys. They also have games, so she plays bridge with other women, and she seems to enjoy that."

"Hope Arbor of Murrells Inlet was really nice. I would recommend them. They have different facilities for exercises. They have a lot of things that are really good for a person my age or a little bit older who can do different things for themselves. I liked the bedroom and the salon. I enjoyed all of that."

"Garden Manor had small apartments. There was a library and a small place in the back where you could plant flowers. They served one nice big meal a day. If you wanted something for later in the evening, you could get a box of food to take with you. They would come and clean once a week. They went on trips for shopping in a van. It was just what I needed. The people were very nice, very friendly, and outgoing. "

"The Palmettos of Garden City is wonderful. It's brand new, very clean, open, and airy. They have a lot of common areas to sit and socialize. Their staff is wonderful, I met their medical and nursing directors and activities director and they're all very caring and enthusiastic. It's conveniently located and the grounds are very nice, it's tucked away in a lot of trees. My father's room is a studio, it's a little smaller and pricier than some of the other places, but it's manageable. It has a large bathroom, with cable, Wi-Fi, and a telephone provided for free. All utilities are covered. In addition to three meals, they have unlimited snacks throughout the day. There's also a little bistro area where you can socialize and they have a happy hour every day."

"The owner is very attentive to clients needs. The staff is kind. The facility has activities such as bingo and chair exercise every morning form 9-11 am. Resident go out to eat as well as for holidays such as the 4th of July. Accompanied by staff to see fire works. Residents are provided with foot care and proper hair grooming such as cuts! This facility is small but I’d privately owned and is great I recommend this facility "

"We found a facility called South Island Assisted Living for my ex-husband. We chose this facility, for it fits as far as the budget that we can afford. The facility was very nice, and everyone was also very nice. He has a private room, and it’s very nice. The staff were very accommodating. They do play bingo and do puzzles, but he is not interested in any of those. The dining area is nice, and he said that the food is good. "

"Reflections Assisted Living was very nice. The people were very nice and helpful. The lady showed me around and explained how it works and how much it would cost. She was absolutely helpful and pleasant. The rooms were more like studios. They had a dining room and different activities. They had hairdressers come in also. I wouldn't mind my mother living there."

"My brother is staying in Sunny Pines Boarding Home. It's a nice place. I've been there before. It's a normal place for senior living. It is a group home where they have ten or more people there. They feed them and help with their medications and stuff like that. They have staff to help them with chores. They took my brother to the doctor. There are two people to a room. They have activities and then they take them to adult day care at certain hours of the day, I think about five hours a day or so. The staff are nice to deal with. I think it's a good price."

"The last facility that I visited was here and this facility was very appealing and clean. The building was beautiful. The staff was very helpful and very patient. I think the residents there were happy and contented."

"The Watercrest Myrtle Beach is probably the best bang for the buck. It's brand new. It's got lots of amenities. It has the most amenities. It has a salon, a salt room therapy, a mood room therapy, and a small pool. They have physical therapy, and they have a cigar lounge. They have a dining room that is open from 7:00 to 7:00, and it's more like a restaurant. You can order any meal at any time. They got more selections, and they have specials. I did eat there, and the food was good. The service was slow, but you're in assisted living, so you're not trying to rush through anything. We had a nice tour of the building. They have all three levels of care. That's the Cadillac of the four places that I've looked at. It's brand new. It's got the most amenities. It's exquisite over there, it really is. We actually ate the food over there. Me, my mother and my wife have toured everything over there. They have all kinds of outdoors. They have like a gazebo out back. All the pricing is competitive, so you're getting the most bang for your buck over there. However, if the amenities are there and you don't use it, then it's no good anyway."

"My mom has been in Magnolias of Myrtle Beach for three months now. It was recommended to us by her physician. We shopped all around in the area and kind of decided on another one, but when we went to her doctor to get the TB test that was necessary before you go in a facility, her doctor said, "Don't decide on anything until you go see this one (Magnolias of Myrtle Beach)." So we went and had lunch there and talked to the director, it was so good that my mom wanted to move in the next day. We love the staff, the administrator, and everybody there. It is really great! We also love the location, the facilities, etc. We just love everything about it. It is just that good. I would recommend it to others, in fact, I already had. I'm really pleased with this facility. "
