"We chose Harmony at West Ashley. It had pretty much everything that we were looking for, from independent living to assisted living to memory care. It was a very nice facility. It had a lot of amenities. We got a two-bedroom apartment. The people I talked to when we were visiting all seemed to like it there. We found it a good place, and we have friends who live a mile and a half away from there. The staff was adequate. The rooms and dining area were very nice. I looked at the menus, and I thought the food selection looked pretty good. They have two libraries, a gym, a movie theater, a card room, a pub with an outside patio, outside grills if you want to grill things, and parking if you want to take your own car. The facility was very nice, clean, new, and modern."

"My dad lived at Ashley Gardens for one year, and had a very good experience there. We know that no facility can be like home, but Ashley Gardens was as close to a home that we could find for our dad. The level of care provided by Ashley Gardens is outstanding. Our dad was loved and cared for until he passed. We were also pleased with the quality of food and dining room and we loved that he could enjoy every meal with friends. Ashley Gardens offers a variety of activities and there was always something for our dad to do. We would highly recommend Ashley Gardens for your loved one."

"Oaks at Mt. Pleasant is memory care. They have a big number of staff per patient. Most of the people there are patients because they mostly have Alzheimer's. That was impressive. It's renovated, so it's a little fresher looking than most other places."

"I toured Mount Pleasant Gardens Memory Care Community. It was very nice and clean, and everybody was very friendly. It was very nice because they showed me all the different parts and things like that. There was one group that was doing some crafts, but that's all I saw that day."

"I have been to Franke at Seaside. My friend is in the independent living side. It's absolutely perfect. It's beautiful. The grounds are well kept. Everything is very clean and very nice. It's like a resort almost. My friend has no complaints. She likes it quite well, but I didn't personally meet any of the staff members. They have beautiful dining areas and a chapel for church-type things. They have activity rooms where they could go in and do crafts or stuff like that. It was just very pleasant. The residents looked well dressed. I would say it's a very affluent community. I thought the activities were good. The food was excellent."

"My mom moved into The Retreat at Summerville a couple of weeks ago. The facility is well-kept. Everybody there is wonderful from the office staff to the nursing sector. We like it a lot and they take good care of her. They keep me informed. They keep me updated weekly on her progress. When I'm not there, they check in to let me know how she's doing. All around, I like them. Her room is very clean. The dining area is beautiful. She's on the memory care side, so they bring in their food on the memory care side. Their activity director is wonderful."

"My mother has moved into The Blake at Carnes Crossroads. We're very happy with it. She's only been there one day. They're all very good. The rooms are decent-sized, and they're clean. The whole place is clean. They had a good variety of food. They seem to get involved with all the people there. All assisted living is pretty expensive."

"My grandmother has been a resident here for almost 3 years. We are happy with the care that she has received. The staff is always attentive to my grandmother. The facility is well maintained and kept clean. I don't have to worry about my grandmother like I have at other facilities. "

"I toured Wildcat Senior Living. That was a super nice place, but it was just too far from my dad's. They were exceptional. The people who showed me around were super nice, wonderful, and very informative. They made you feel extremely comfortable through this hard transition in life, especially for your parents. Everyone there was professional. They understood what you were going through. The place is super clean. It looks like a resort. The room size is a typical size for a memory care unit. I smelled the kitchen walking by, and it smelled phenomenal."

"My Aunt lives at The Palmettos and believe me we looked at a lot of places. For the money we found this to be a great option, and in many cases better than the more expensive ones.The staff could not be kinder and more helpful. My Aunt's room is very nice and has a lovely view. The facility is always clean and smells fresh, not antiseptic. It was recently remolded with very tasteful furnishings, paintings and carpet. They provide just about anything you could ask for including a family like atmosphere. My Aunt calls the staff her kids! They have outings that she enjoys, from the Dollar Tree to very nice lunch outings. From top management on down the ladder they provide a safe, friendly environment, which gives me great peace of mind. "

"We have chosen Wellmore of Daniel Island for my mother-in-law. Well, she's from Daniel Island, and she's familiar with the area. She's still able to get around a little bit, and so we figured it wouldn't be a drastic change. Her friends could visit her; that's the main reason. It's also a very nice-looking facility. The staff was very friendly. Everybody introduced themselves as we walked through. They seemed very professional, and positive. My mother-in-law hasn't moved in yet. She'll be moving in next week. Wellmore of Daniel Island was excellent as far as physical condition. The dining room, the swimming pool, the TV room, the quiet room, and the sitting room were all well manicured, and clean. The staff was very friendly, and very helpful. Other than it being a little more expensive than the rest, I have no complaints about it. I think it's a fine facility. I was more impressed with the staff than the building, that's how good the staff presented themselves. The facility is only two years old."

"My husband is at Kempton of Charleston. He's been there for a year. Everybody has been great. My husband loves it there. It's a very nice place. They take good care of him, so I have no complaints. It's the most beautiful place in Charleston. It's like a five-star hotel. It's relatively new. The staff members are great. They have an activities director who takes them out to various places in Charleston, which is nice. One of the things I'm the happiest about is that they do a lot of activities. They're kept busy if they want to. She encourages everyone to participate. My husband gained 15 pounds, so he loves the food. It's a little bit more expensive."
