I am a friend or relative of a current/past resident

If there was a negative star rating would have selected that. As a family member of a resident I don't even know where to begin, so I will summarize as quickly as possible. 1.) Rooms - very small, and residents are moved to different rooms for no reason communicated. Bathrooms are so small can barely get a wheel chair in. Toilet paper, soap and paper towels are hard to come by without asking for multiple times and multiple people. 2.) Food - not even close to acceptable. All high sodium, sugar, and fried. Same items day after day. Ask any resident about chicken and rice. They so not follow special diet restrictions, or even the menu template they provide if you want something different. ZERO fresh fruits and veg. Only iceberg salad at times. 3.) Care / Appts. / Transportation - The Riverside office will change your Dr. Appt without consulting you stating they cannot get transportation. For my family member, this is critical for a post-op appt. They didn't care. My family member was in her own waste in bed without being changed for 36+ hours and telling staff at least 4 times. Service bells are NOT answered at all, along with calling the nurses station. 4.) General supplies - Riverside did not have sheets / towels / blankets / wash clothes / pillow cases for 3+ days Residents, including my family slept with nothing. No gowns, garbage bags, prescription meds even Tylenol wasn't available. Cleaning staff was not being paid, they were running out of standard food (milk, sandwiches) 5.) Privacy & Respect - You as a resident will hear all sorts of private information on other residents. Who is fighting who, what medications have been changed and for why, the financial situation, your family situation, most if not all your medical conditions ALL out there for anyone. HIPPA violations all over. 6.) Staff training and professionalism - CNAs, LPNs, PRNs are about 50/50 doing what they need to do, have the qualifications, licenses, etc. 50% or more are NOT employees of Riverside "Social services" staff have more than once messed with nurses computers who's role is to fill resident medications. How is this acceptable? Something has to change, this is complete neglect to all residents

I visited this facility

This place is no where to send a love one to. The facility smells like urine. Patients are being turned like they are suppose to. Along with a friend, she and I went to visit her father. We were there for nearly 5 hours. Not one time did anyone come in and turn him. I know that patients are supposed to be turned every two hours to prevent pressure sores. When asked if someone was coming to turn him, we were told "Oh we figured since his daughter was in there she would be turning him." Really!!! After this I advised my friends and family members to never send anyone there. And yes, I work in healthcare. Have for the past 15 years. This is a disgrace to our elder.

I visited this facility

I recently visited my brother who's resident of this community, i was really blown away when walked in and saw the horrible conditions that my brother has been living in for the past six or so months, the bathroom look's and smelled like it had not been cleaned in months, urine small throughout the entire long term care wing off the building, i bought some new clothing for my Brother, after one week my sister visited my Brother, his clothing were missing and at this point there are still Missing. i will not advise anyone that truly love and care for your Love One, to move them in this place.

I am a friend or relative of a resident

During the cardiac surgery, they hit my wife's nerve that paralyzed half of her diaphragm so she had a bit of a problem and had to undergo rehab. She was in two different hospitals and at Riverside for 80 days post surgery. It's excellent. They have a special wing for cardiopulmonary and that's where my wife was. They have another wing for Alzheimer's and the majority of it is nursing home care. Their rehab was really good. They worked with her two or three times a day. Outstanding service.
