Mom is at Care Pavilion of Walnut Park for 4 months now. It's convenient for us. She has Dementia, they help her with that and they just give her medicine. I don't like the staff. There are lots of foreigners. I don’t understand what they're saying so when we talk it's like they're yelling or being aggressive.

Care Pavilion of Walnut Park Philadelphia, PA has been there for many years, and it's not the best of places. It has a lot of patients there that family probably don't visit that much, but I visit my sister a lot. The closet space is limited. The staff bathes and dresses her. She gets all the care from the staff, but she can feed herself. They have what they call the Walnut Lounge. They have a person who comes in and sells snacks and things to the patients, like hotdogs and things like that. On Mondays and Fridays they give out coffee in the morning, and sometimes ice cream in the evening. They have a lot of smokers, so they go out in the evening to smoke. They don't have enough staff, and there's a little lack of supplies, like diapers and gowns. Sometimes, they don't have enough staff to get them out of bed on the weekends. Bathing and showering is another problem. The state or federal government or someone should come in and redo the place, like the beds, chairs, and tables. Everything is very old. It would help if it had an uplift inside the whole facility.

The facility is disorganized. The workers are loud and disrespectful. There are mice and roaches throughout the facility. I saw several workers not wearing face mask. I will be reporting the facility to licenses and inspections.

The staff at Care Pavilion of Walnut Park is very good and caring. The building looks nice going in. You buzz in and they have someone at the desk to secure the area. When you're ready to leave, you have to buzz out to prevent anybody from just going in and out of the place. My friend's room is a shared room. Each person has a TV, a chest of drawers, a dresser/drawer across the bed, and one fold-up chair for her visitor. The building is old but clean.

my mom stayed at care pavilion for almost 4 months and to say to least that she didn't get the uptmost proper care there and went in and out the hospital since her first week there. not all the staff was bad but the bad made the good staff still look bad and I wouldn't recommend sending anyone there

My aunt lost part of her leg due to the negligence of this home. She had a pressure sore on her ankle due (which we pointed out but did not know what it was or the damage it could cause) and the home did nothing. Other residents smelled bad and were clearly not clean. The staff was uncaring and slow to respond to requests, even for a cup of water. If we were litigious people, we would sue this home for negligence.
