Assisted Living Communities in Philadelphia, PA

"We toured Springfield Senior Living. I liked it because it was a small community, and it was very clean. The residents looked happy and satisfied. It's well-staffed. The person at the front desk was very interactive, very personable, and very professional. We did not have to wait. They came right out. The marketing person or admissions person came right out to greet us. Our tour was very good. When we went to the memory care floor, the staff greeted us. They didn't just ignore people coming through, and so that was good. They had a lot of activities for the residents to participate in. They had a pool table. They had an outdoor sitting area that was very well-kept, and very nice. So, I liked it."

"Brittany Manor didn't provide respite care services. Going in there, it was more for people who are mentally challenged. Before I went in, there was a resident already asking me for money while I was sitting in my car, and then when I went in, there was another resident who was asking me for money, and food, and whatever I had in my hand. The person who walked me around was a five. My experience trying to confirm that I had a tour was a one or a zero. I called to confirm, and no one seemed to be able to confirm with me that they were aware that I was coming. They said they would get back to me, and no one ever got back to me, so I just wound up showing up, and the person who gave me the tour was very friendly. However, she wasn't necessarily prepared to provide a tour. The place was very disheveled. Whoever owned the place before, that signage was still up there. The facility smelled as soon as I got in the door. The staff pretty much mentioned this is for people who have mental disabilities. The room I saw wasn't dirty. It's just that everything looked old. Everything didn't look like it was maintained properly. That's not a place I would recommend for anybody. It didn't seem like the patients were even well taken care of. The people that I talked to on the phone were not professional in my book, and telling me that you're going to get back to me, and then you still don't get back, that was very concerning."

"As to the staff at Wesley Enhanced Living they are professional. Her room is clean and spacious for her. She loves it. Their dining room is very clean, and they serve them good food. They provide exercise, and they allow me to take her out. "

"My mother has been a resident in the assisted living side of this home for about 2 years. She recently had a fall, and I was notified within 30 minutes! They took her to the ER via Ambulance, and I got calls from Riverview, the EMTs during transport and then from the hospital. She is back now in the rehab side of the home, and is being treated carefully and kindly. The nursing staff is excellent, they all seem to love their work and their clients. I have gotten all concerns addressed ASAP. The location is wonderful, right on the banks of the Delaware River. I live in another state (Mom's choice not to move out of her area, where she has lived since 1955) and there are 4 basic but clean and quiet guest rooms, for only $30.00 a night. This makes my visits with mom less stressful for me, and I'm able to participate in all her activities and dine with her (for a very small fee). I would highly recommend Riverview Estates. "

"I like Sunrise of Abington. The buy-in is not bad. I think it's around $10,000. Their facility was nice, clean, and up-to-date. They had lots of activities and the cafeteria was nice. They have a gym, an activity room, a library, and a movie theater. The staff was very good, knowledgeable, and friendly. I didn't taste the food, but what I saw looked good and appetizing, and they had a good variety. The rooms were a little smaller than what I would like, but the layout was good."

"The staff at Sunrise of Haverford all seemed very friendly. I was very impressed with the salesperson who was showing me around. He was very warm and approachable and answered a lot of questions that I had and introduced me to the staff while we were walking around. I saw a few rooms; they looked comfortable. There was a small lounge which was well stocked with fruits, snacks, and popcorn, and I thought it was quite lovely. "

"I did a tour of Sunrise of Lafayette Hill. The staff and the people were very helpful, caring, and insightful. It looks very nice and perfectly suitable. The staff is very knowledgeable and helpful. The staffing was excellent, which is what I was more concerned about. My focus was the staff, and they're impressive. They were incredibly impressive. The residents there seem to really be comfortable and enjoying their experience there. It is a good environment. There was a beauty salon, and they had all the appropriate amenities there."

"Sunrise of Dresher was very nice. It looked like an excellent facility, very clean, and other than the cost, I would rate it as a four. The facility I would rate as a five, but I thought their cost and different fees for different items were high. We saw the rooms and the dining facilities; we got a tour of the whole facility. We did talk to one of their staff and he seemed very amenable and very friendly. "

"My husband has moved into Oakwood Residence. It's convenient. He is in assisted living. It's excellent care. They're very efficient. They take care of what needs to be taken care of. They're very caring. They have physical therapy and occupational therapy. They have a salon for men and women, they have an activity room for the residents, and they have lounges set up with big-screen TVs. It's clean, well taken care of and they have a good staff that maintains the property."

"The Quadrangle was very nice. The day before my visit, the gentleman I talked to said that we could have lunch and meet a few residents, but that didn't happen. He showed me the room, though. They had a painting studio, an arts and crafts room, a yoga room, a gym, and a pool."

"Pinnacle at Plymouth Meeting is a brand-new building. I still can smell how new the place is. Everything is new. It feels like you're at a hotel or a resort. It feels like a new apartment complex. The lady who guided us on the tour was great. It was just awesome. We checked one-bedroom-one-bath, and it was a pretty good size. The place itself is located a little too close to the highway, but it is nice, clean, and organized. For activities, the staff showed me the painting class and the TV room or theater. It is well-planned."

"I would say that this is the best facility for senior people that i have ever been to. I visit this place every week with my friend and we really have a very good time there. We made lot of new friends. The staff and the people are really caring. They take care of people as their own. You have one and two bedroom studios and the place is like a hotel with all the amenities. All rooms feature private bathrooms, walk-in closets and sparkling new full size kitchen. Individually controlled thermostats are just one of the many added touches that ensure that each resident is provided with all the comforts of home.All the people enjoy enjoy three delectable, nutritionally balanced, gourmet meals each day, served in a restaurant style atmosphere. I really like this place. I would like to spend my old age here for sure. "

"We toured Springfield Crossings. The people there were extremely nice. We got to speak to a number of the residents, and they had positive things to say about the community. The facility looked like it was well laid out and would meet the needs of the assisted living that we thought we needed for our father. I did not see any residents doing activities. There was a generally open area and a dining facility. The residents were holding a meeting during the time we were there. The facility was clean and they were in the process of updating the rooms and hallways."

"My father moved in at Brandywine Living at Senior Suites. The facility seems nice, clean and well-maintained. We just moved in today, so I can't speak to the care yet. We have been unbelievably impressed with the process of providing information and being as accommodating as they possibly could be. His room is very nice, and we are very happy with it. They have a barber shop and a nice activity room. There is a nice outdoor courtyard space that is all enclosed, so people can't leave and get lost. We had one meal, so I'm not sure I can speak to the overall quality of everything. Under COVID, they don't want visitors to be able to eat with family members. However, we were able to eat with my father after hours when we were there at 2:00 pm. There was no one else in the dining room. The one thing we liked about their dining facility was that they have a 12-hour open dining. If you want to come down in between meals and have breakfast at 2:00 in the afternoon, you can. They have standard items that they have on their menu all the time. You can order those any time within those 12 hours. And then they have specials for every meal that is unique. And they're usually only served during the regular meal time periods. We like the flexibility of dining, not having to eat only at specified times. "
