My grandfather was here for 8 months before he passed away and the kindness and individual attention he received was above and beyond anything we could have expected. The facility is beautiful and clean and the people who work there have a passion for what they do. My family and I feel incredibly lucky to have chosen this place and will be recommending it to everyone!

My father is in Providence Place at the Collegeville Inn at assisted living. They also have a memory care unit. It's the only experience we know because we've never been to any other assisted living facility. So it does come with not knowing more than what it is. It's a new facility; it's only been open for probably its second year. So it's clean, the bathrooms are big, and they have a walk-in shower so you don't have to step over anything. So it works well for older people. The rooms are decent-sized. We looked at a whole bunch, and the rooms here were bigger than most, and the cost was less expensive. So it was a little more affordable than most. I would say, though, that the layout of the facility isn't the best for assisted living, and the reason I say that is because of the dining area. The dining area where all the food is at one corner of the facility, and then all the rooms are out further away, down long hallways. So for assisted living, it can be quite a walk. They have a movie room, a salon, a community room, they do have daily activities, and they say they have a chapel. They have a bar and a pub, so the residents gather there for happy hour a couple of times a week, and spend time together. And then they have a pool table on the second floor for residents, but because it's a little further away, nobody uses it. I don't think their nursing care communicates with their kitchen. Because I don't think their kitchen is diet-specific friendly. I don't think the food is the healthiest, is my point. I think they could have healthier food for older people, especially people with specific diets. That's my biggest complaint about the place. I think the layout isn't great. The place is beautiful, but the layout isn't super functional.

Providence Place at the Collegeville Inn just opened up in 2019. It was very, very bright, had wide hallways, very big, and very nice. The decoration and the furniture were all beautiful. They built it on the land where an old famous restaurant used to be, called 'The Collegeville Inn'. They kept a part of it, like the very high ceilings with beams in it. It looked very rustic. It's very nice. The people that I've talked with were very nice too. They offer studios and one-bedrooms. Their pricing was OK. I think they said the studios started at $3,800 a month, and then for assisted living/personal care (depending on what level), is either $1,000 more or $1,500 more a month. It interested me because a lot of these continuing coverages I've looked into are daily rates, and that's very expensive. I don't want that. They are not continuing care yet, but they're working towards that. Their rooms were big. They had lots of activities, and the place was clean. They had another big room where you can do arts and crafts and play any kind of games like balloon volleyball or card games. They had a piano, a van to take you to places, lots of areas to sit and talk to people like little lounge areas, and happy hours. It's right beside the Perkiomen Creek, so it's got some nice views. They have a place where you can help yourself with some snacks and drinks all day long. They have this 'on-call' method where they give you a button to push whenever you need help. The only thing that was strange was that they had a couple elevators only in one place. If you lived on the other side of the building, there's going to be long hallways; you would have to walk a distance to get to the elevator. It's only three floors, but the meals are on the first floor. However, they told me they're planning on getting a golf cart to assist you if you can't walk that far.
