"We found Solista Salem by Cogir. It has all the amenities that we need, and it's cheaper than that other place where we were. We moved in last week. It's a fantastic place to be. We're independent living right now, but they have it set up so that if I need help to get my husband off the floor and stuff like that, they will come and help us. We have three meals a day. It's a much bigger place than the other one. The staff is very helpful. They're very senior-oriented. They have all kinds of things going on for the seniors. It's such a nice place. We have seen deer and squirrels. They say around Thanksgiving, there's a turkey that's wandering around here. It's closer to the hospitals, to the doctors, and everything. The staff members are really good and friendly. I dealt with the maintenance man a couple of times because I couldn't get the dishwasher going. He came right up, fixed it, and got it all going and everything for me, so that's nice. The housekeeper is Carly, and she is great, too. It's very clean. It's got a nice, clean dining room. We haven't gotten up there yet to eat, but of all the ones I looked at, this is the best. They have sock hops, bingo, and all kinds of activities going on. They have a little garden that people can work in. It's $2000 cheaper than the other place. It's in our budget, so it makes it very nice."

"Holiday Hidden Lakes is a great place. Dad loves it there. We were there last night and had dinner with him, which is always amazing food, amazing people, and an amazing place. It's clean and it smells wonderful. Everyone there is top-notch. They always call him by name. They always take good care of him. They did talk to us last night about his wandering a little bit, so we had a group meeting with the hospitality director, and she was able to discuss what wandering looks like and how we could help him do that differently and that was wonderful. They are on top of everything and they are good. My feedback on them would be nothing but the best. He got his own apartment. It's a five-star place, without a doubt. Their staff is amazing. Everyone there has been more than kind, friendly, inviting, and extremely welcoming for someone who's never been there. We just felt at home. There are fireplaces burning on every floor. There are high ceilings and a ton of light. You can see the lake from all the windows. It is warm and beautiful. I love how they do the food. When we come to the dining room to gather, they are immediately bringing out soups and salads which are fresh and delicious. I have licked my plate every time I've been there. The dressings are fresh. The salads are fresh. It's like fine dining. It's all done with fine linens, crystal plates, or glass. Everything's not cheap. What was impressive was that after they came out and did the soup and salad, they gave you plenty of time to visit at least 10 to 15 minutes and then they brought out the main course. The portions are wonderful. We're always stuffed when we're done and it's always impressive in how it smells and tastes and is presented. It's presented like a restaurant. Then they come around with the dessert cart. For example, last night we had three choices of cake. We had carrot cake, chocolate cake, and vanilla cake, all freshly baked and beautiful. There was a cookie rack on the top with every kind of cookie you would want, coconut cookies, oatmeal cookies, all freshly baked and warm and beautiful. They had an ice cream tray. Dad wanted carrot cake and strawberry ice cream and a cookie, and they just gladly served him up everything he asked for, just everything off the cart. I've seen people change their mind and they smile and give them something else and tell them to keep that as well because they don't put the food back, but they're happy to get them more, whatever they need. I've seen people come in late and they go and get them caught up on soups and salads. You can come in during the times of 8:00 to 9:00, 12:00 to 1:00, or 5:00 to 6:00. We arrived yesterday at 5:20 and they quickly caught us up and got us all served. Their staff is fast and quick. Everything is quality. It is a lot of money. However, it is well worth the value for what you are getting. There is an activity schedule on every table when you come into the dining room, as well as a menu with many choices. They have residents' choice and staff's choice. There's always a sandwich available, whether it's fresh pastrami or turkey or whatever you choose. I haven't seen anything quite so fantastic, but the activities are daily. They are making Chex Mix with them, baking cookies with them, having comedians come, and having Elvis impersonators. There isn't a single day that there are no activities. They have board games and ice cream socials. They've already had two mixers and Dad's gone to all of them. Dad is legally blind and last night, he's sitting with a group of people with magnifying glasses and there are lights. The staff has taught them how to do this. Just in nine days, he's playing cards again. He's believing in himself because he's with a community of people who are believing in themselves to do really hard things. We're proud of him. He's laughing and giggling. He's come back to life. He told us he wouldn't want to live anywhere else in the whole world and he told us that on day six. He's on day nine now and he has made a name for himself. Every day at 2:00, they play bean bag baseball. He used to sit on the couch all day before going, and now I can't even get him on the phone. I can't reach him because he is upstairs and downstairs. He's on the third floor and he's playing games, doing a mixer, and learning to bake cookies. He has found at least a dozen different people who he said sit and talk with him. They share stories. They talk about the losses and the lives that they've lived. We have been over there every other day and instead we're watching him bloom. We're watching him come to life. We're watching him live. It's the opposite of leaving and abandoning him. We were letting him grow. We couldn't be happier. This place was perfect in every single way."

"We moved dad from independent living to assisted living. His room layout is near identical to the 1 bedroom apartment he left. After touring 4 places in South Salem, we chose Redwood Heights over the others for the quality of care they provide. They aren’t the newest and flashiest but they have the most amazing friendly and caring staff. I wasn’t sold at first but after seeing and hearing about the other places I went back the next day and filled in the blanks that came up after our initial visit and knew this was the best place. If safety and quality care in a positive environment is what you are seeking for you or your loved one then look no further than Redwood Heights."

"My husband is staying in Prestige Senior Living. We chose that place because it's just around the corner from where he is staying. I wanted him to be closer to the to the house and his family. The girl who toured us answered all the questions that we had, and she answered them very easily. The place is really nice. It's clean and bright, but it looks like a nursing home. The place might need to be updated. The one who accompanied us was amazing; she was really good. She showed us everywhere we have to go. Most of the amenities are upstairs in the assisted living. They have a hairdresser that comes in and cuts hair. There's nothing much going on in memory care. The dining room was open and clean. There's a small courtyard that you can reach from the memory care area, but there's a larger courtyard upstairs in assisted living that you can use."

We are five-star caring home our caregivers, very educated and trained. We do have two RNs on call if needed. We are a 24-hour care home. We are experienced with all care. Very nice and clean home. We have a really nice backyard with the fruit trees where our residents can go and walk on a nice day. We have two covered patios. Its good for any weather to be outside. Our residents always do activities if they want too, summer time we have vegetable garden, some of our residents like to work in the garden. "My mother just moved into Regency Woodland. The service is fine, and she loves it there. They play bingo and made cookies and had candies for them on Valentine's Day. She likes the ladies that live there with her. She has neighbors next door who come and visit with her. There's a nurse on-call who gives her medications, so there's always someone to help her. There are strings in all the rooms that they pull if they need help. They're really good and they respond quickly. She's picky, but she likes their food. The facility looks really nice. They accept Medicaid, which was helpful to us. They are pet friendly. The rooms are nice, and she is in a two-room, which really made her happy."
