We are five-star caring home our caregivers, very educated and trained. We do have two RNs on call if needed. We are a 24-hour care home. We are experienced with all care. Very nice and clean home. We have a really nice backyard with the fruit trees where our residents can go and walk on a nice day. We have two covered patios. Its good for any weather to be outside. Our residents always do activities if they want too, summer time we have vegetable garden, some of our residents like to work in the garden. "This facility seems above average for entertaining residents. The one thing that seems to be continually a problem though, is that it often requires repeated attempts to have my mother put on the telephone. Furthermore, when I visited on a holiday to take mom out, the front doors were locked and nobody was monitoring it, so I had to wait outside awhile. My mother is happy at Windsong and staff appear to treat her well. ."

"I chose Cedar Crest Alzheimer's Special Care Center for my dad. The place was clean and cheerful. It seemed to be well-appointed and homey. They seemed to have a pretty good ratio of staff to residents, and they just seemed to be very accommodating. They were responsive, pleasant, and gracious, and they seemed to be very empathetic with the residents. They had a garden, a beauty shop, a barber shop, a library, and a variety of different spaces for people to come together."

"We really felt welcomed when we first went, and they have been very, very helpful, helping us get everything done for my mother-in-law to be able to move in there. It is a smaller place; it may not be as big as some of the newer ones, but it is a very homey and comfortable feeling and I think it would be a good fit for her. The last time that we were over there, some of the residents were actually baking with someone helping them, and at another time, they were listening to a radio program. They have tables around where they can work on puzzles and they have sitting areas where they can sit together, and they do. They did have a lot of good things going, and every week they take a country drive if any of the residents would want to go. They also plan special events every once in a while -- like go out to lunch or stuff like that -- that the residents are able to sign up for. Their memory care part is kind of small and it is understandable because they don't have many people there, but it would be nicer if the outdoor area had some greenery to it, like maybe some grass and a little more outside scenery."

"This is a really nice care facility. The place is well taken care of, and feels very homey, with many sitting areas, gathering space, and public rooms that feel like living rooms. They always decorate for the holidays, and the place seems festive whenever I visit. They have a 'therapy cat', who lives at the facility, and visits residents, making rounds to keep spirits high. They have many activities for the residents and their visiting families, including movies showings, weekly poker games, and group meals. Family is encouraged to visit, and stay for dinner. There are public verandas, and most (if not all) bedrooms have small patios for the residents to get some sunshine. There are plenty of windows, and the place has a very pleasant feel. The staff remembers the names of residents and their families, and is always very friendly when you run into them in the hallways or at the front desk. They always seem very busy, but they also seem to care about all the residents. The individual rooms are fair sized: not huge, but big enough for everything the residents need, with closets, bathrooms, and small kitchen units with the bare essentials (fridge and microwave, no oven or dishwasher). There are studios, one bedroom, and I believe two bedroom units available in the facility.The one negative of this facility is the price: it's a very high quality place, and therefore it costs a LOT. "

"Brookstone Alzheimer's Special Care Center was nice, and the tour went well. They had movie nights and popcorn for the residents. They had a hair salon. The dining room was clean and fine. I saw a room, a double room, and a suite. The rooms were clean, but not big. The suites were good sized. The staff all seemed very friendly and dedicated to their jobs."

"What I like best about Briden Kinder Care is that it's well-kept and they have friendly staff. What I like least is that their driveways is really steep. We did not taste the food, but the food smelled good. The facility was very nice. The rooms were good. They're adequate or better. When I stepped in it felt warm and homey."

"Washington Gardens Memory Care was a large place, and it was clean. I saw people doing activities, painting and playing some games. The person during the tour was very helpful. There was quite a bit of space in the common areas. The rooms were big and had a lot of space. The only thing that would keep me from going there would be their price."

"Edgewood Point Assisted Living was bright and clean. The person who gave us the tour was great. She could answer all of our questions and didn't ever seem hurried. They treat their residents like family, which is important when you're putting a family member in a care facility. She was very knowledgeable and personable. They had three chefs there for meals and that's kind of amazing. They had a hair salon where you could make appointments. They didn't have as good of a recreation room with exercise equipment, which would have been important. The only reason we were a little leery about that one was because it's right across the street from a golf course and my husband was a golfer and I wouldn't want him wandering out and deciding he'd like to go do golf. So, we kind of had to rule that one out just because of location, but all the other stuff was great. They had single apartments that had separate bedrooms, but then they had just like studios, too. The facility, the meal preparation, all that kind of stuff, were excellent. It was very nice. It didn't have as homey a feeling as the other facility we went to, but that doesn't make it a bad thing. Some people prefer it to not look homey."

"Today is my father's first day in Murray Highland Memory Care. It's a small community, and they have good one-on-one care with the residents. They're very responsive to requests through email or phone calls. So far, it's been a good experience. He has a private room. They have an activity director, and they have a variety of things that they do including music, games, puzzles, exercises, and that sort of thing. They provide three meals a day and snacks any time the residents wanted them. It's his first day, so I'm still figuring out everything that they have today. There's no problem moving him in. We just brought him in, and they were very helpful."
