Heritage House - Woodburn is an 18-bed facility, and it is small and caring. The important thing is it's a locked facility, and that was the thing that my husband needed. They seem to take everybody's individual issues to heart and address them efficiently, based on my observation. I'm pleased with what I see. There are people who have other needs that are being addressed that have to be in a care facility, but primarily it is a memory care facility. He is in a private room, and it has its own bath. It's what he needs, and so it's helped him adjust to a very different kind of life. I go over every day and see him. It's a popular place. I had to wait for the facility to open, but it was worth the wait. They have an activities person who sees to it that they have activities available, participates with them, and changes the activity according to the needs of who's at the table or in the area. They have a beautiful, secure backyard. They can go out, and we're having good weather, so they're able to use that at the present time very nicely. They have patio furniture and all that kind of thing outside for them. It's operated by a group of Spanish ladies who are very delightful. They are caring people. They've been very nice. Everybody else seems to be enjoying the food. It's an older facility, and it needs some upgrades. Value for money is good.

Moving to this place was the hardest I have ever done for my husband. Many there with more dementia problems than my husband, yet the other place was not a lock-down facility so we had to move him. He will get more one on one care. They treat you as a family as only 20+ people are there. Does it ever get any easier to have your loved one in a home?????
