"Holiday Regent was very, very open, and helpful. They fed us lunch and it was absolutely delicious. They had like a main thing, and then they had two alternative choices. So, it was really good. Everybody that we met there was absolutely amazing. They were very informative and friendly. The place was very clean and very nice. They had a nice laundry room, a workout room, a little room that had a pool table and a card table, and they had a beautiful library."

"We looked at Solista Newberg by Cogir and that's probably the best one. We like the rooms, and the people seemed to enjoy living there. It seemed like it was well-maintained. The staff who gave the tour was helpful."

"I moved into Meadow Lark. I looked around, saw this place, and liked it the best. They have little houses that you can live in as long as you can live by yourself, and that's what I have, but they do feed me breakfast, lunch, and dinner. The experience is very, very good, I'm very satisfied, the food is delicious, and everything is just great so far. The staff is very helpful, and everything they can help you with they do. It's just a great place as far as I'm concerned. I love my room, it's clean, spacious, the carpets are clean and everything, the walls are clean. I like it here."

"My brother moved into Stoneybrook Lodge, and it's been good so far. Everybody was very good. The facility is excellent. It's been updated recently. They have a pool, a library, a pool table, a weight room, an exercise room, and a small theater area with some nice seating. They had a month-to-month arrangement for renting, and my brother liked that. It was also close to the university, and he's a big Beaver fan, so the location was very good to the stadium. They have plenty of activities."

"Jason Lee Manor was nice. It's an older building, but it was clean. It wasn't fancy, but it was a nice place. They have one-bedrooms and studios. The staff who gave me the tour was fabulous. They have a giant library. They have lots of wildlife out there that's cool. They have almost a little park kind of on a creek, and there's like picnic benches and stuff like that. It's a neat little place. It's really pretty."

"I moved into Salem Housing Authority for low income. It's wonderful. It is very, very clean, and they offer activities for the seniors. They have a community room that you can put your name in to have for your family. They have a backyard patio off of that community room with barbecues and stuff, so you can have family and friends over. They have a garden out in the yard. There are a lot of amenities like that, and it's just wonderful. The staff is extremely helpful. It's for independent living, so they do not have a kitchen staff. I have a full one-bedroom and it's huge. The kitchenette is big and the living room is big. The bedroom is huge. The bathroom is all handicap accessible and it's very large. There's so much storage. They have a full pantry and storage closet by the kitchen and another big storage area in the bathroom. They have a potluck coming up. They have morning coffee where they have get-togethers in the community room. Everybody is so friendly. This place would be wonderful for anybody that's low income and can't afford all the big high rise, fancy places. The only thing they don't have, are meals. There must be four or five different companies that are stopping out here and picking up people to take them, whether it's appointments or shopping."

"I moved to the Ridge at Madrona Hills last May. The apartment is very nice and very clean. The food is OK, and I went to blackjack once. The environment is nice, and they take good care of things; if there's something you need, they get right on it. The staff is great."

"We toured Applewood Retirement Community. They provide their meals and housekeeping and things like that. I don't think there's anything I don't like about it. I love the scenery outside with all the plants, trees, and flowers. I love the fact that they have a 24-hour-a-day coffee bar. We got to see one of the apartments, and I like the layout of it. It's a one-bedroom apartment with a bathroom. It's all accessible for people in wheelchairs. I like that a lot. The staff was very helpful in describing what they had. Like outside, she was telling us about how some of the women would come out and do a little gardening, so there were little bits of flowers in there that they planted. She was very helpful with describing what their meals were like. In the apartment, she was telling us some people like to take away the closet doors so that they have room for the wheelchair so it's not in the way. She was a very nice person. She was very friendly and very helpful. The place was very clean. It wasn't dirty. There wasn't any stuff left on the tables or anything like that. It was very nice and very spacious, too. "

"The Springs at Lancaster Village was very nicely done. The room was very roomy. It had a nice kitchenette with very good storage. They showed us some exercise classes and a schedule of other activities. The staff was excellent. It had a very warm and friendly atmosphere."

"We toured The Springs At Sunnyview for my grandfather. It's beautiful when you pull in and when you walk in, it's beautiful. The food was good, too. The rooms are beautiful. It's perfect with a full kitchen. It was great. The staff was wonderful as well."

"Boone Ridge just opened up. It was too expensive, and they had a lot of glitches they needed to work out. The bathroom door, and the bedroom door clashed, so you couldn't open one without the other one opening, and they fired the chef at the end of the first week. The dining area was beautiful, very upscale. They have wine tastings, a movie theater, a special area where they teach you how to cook, they have laundry facilities on each floor, in the corners they have pool tables, visiting areas, TVs, a big exercise area, a courtyard, and they're going to put a swimming pool in. They have one- and two-bedroom places. Nothing is separated, everything's in the building, and it's like a big hotel. Everybody I talked to was upbeat, happy, and wanted me to move in right away. The dining area was great. You can sit down and order food from 8:00 a.m. all the way to 8:00 p.m."

"I am in Avamere Court At Keizer and I am very happy. I've been here for eight and a half years. We have exercises, bingo, bean bag baseball, church services, Bible studies, and Bible videos on Saturdays. They provide 3 meals a day, housekeeping, and laundry facilities at no charge. They are careful about people that can't eat certain things, and there are always good choices available. We all have apartments with a kitchen, a living room, and a bedroom. There are no studio apartments here. We have a library, an activity room, an exercise room with bicycles and treadmills, and exercise equipment, a craft room, a beauty parlor, and a courtyard. Transportation is good, we have a van and a bus. We're a family here. We care for each other. If someone doesn't show up for a meal, we wonder where they are and check on them. It's a very friendly place. It's a very good community, and the staff cares for us."

"Emerald Pointe Keizer was a beautiful facility. They had beautiful apartments. They served wonderful food, and the people were friendly. It was an apartment and your food was included in the price. They had card rooms, tours, an ice cream parlor, and they had entertainment that came in."
