Brookdale Grand Prairie had more square footage in the rooms and the outdoors had very nice patios. We know people there and we've eaten there several times and the food was excellent. They had everything that you would want. They had libraries and activities. The staff was also excellent. The facility was just a little bit older, but I know it's going to have some updates this year.

We have chosen Brookdale Grand Prairie. The people were friendly and caring. It seemed like it had services that my mom was looking for. And it's close to home. It seemed well-kept, and the food was good. And there's a plethora of activities available if anybody wants them. Everything appeared to be in great shape with regard to the condition of the place.

We've toured Brookdale Grand Prairie and it was lovely. It was the top of-the-line, it was beautiful, and it has everything anybody could want. It's just a little out of our price range, especially when the yearly rent could go up. The staff told us that what started their facility was that people like to go on cruises, so they tried to make it seem like all the good things that you have on a cruise. And they certainly hit the mark there. They had everything and it was all well done and well cared for. That's one of the things we were so impressed with, that it was so clean, and it was just a beautiful place. Mike was the man we dealt with, and he was very helpful and informative. He answered everything without us even having to ask, and he gave us a marvelous tour, and we love that facility. We checked the dining area, they've got every amenity available, and they've got everything.

I felt like Brookdale Grand Prairie (OR) had a very cheery atmosphere. I met some of the folks that live there, and everybody I encountered seemed to be enjoying their experience there. And I went into the game room and there were some ladies there, and we kind of bantered back and forth about coming in and playing cards with them. It was really nice. The kitchen facilities, the way they do their meals, my father wouldn't always be there for mealtime, but they were able to let people have their menu made, and then they could pick it up at their leisure. And I thought that was a great thing. There was a workout room, and I liked that for my father. He likes to keep mobile, so he has to do leg exercises and stuff, and they had that. As a matter of fact, I really enjoyed -- the home was great. It was set up very well for both of my parents, and I liked it so much. My friend and I are going to go play cards with those folks as volunteers because I really enjoyed the atmosphere there. They have programs set up for going different places, like going to the coast, going to concerts, or plays in neighboring cities like Portland and Eugene. And they have activities there in the evenings, or every day they have the puzzle group go, or the card group go. They just have stuff going on all the time if you want to participate. There were plenty of people out and about, not just in their rooms, and I thought that was a good thing to see, because my dad's pretty social and he would love to visit with people. And I thought that was a great thing that they had, people just out milling about, visiting. The building was older. It could have some upgrades. I would recommend it for anyone who wants to put their parents there, or wants to live there.

We liked Brookdale Grand Prairie (OR) best. It felt the most personal. It included an emergency pull cord for independent living, and I don't think the others have that option for independent living. They have a refrigerator. They have an oven and dishwasher. I think some of the apartments have a hookup for a washer and dryer. I don't think all of them do, but some of them do. The one-bedroom apartments, I felt like they were larger than most of the one-bedrooms anywhere else because it was like one bedroom plus, kind of an extra area, like half a bedroom. So it was bigger, and I think the price was less. The staff was very personal, he was very interested in my mom, and what she needs so that he could best match her with the right facility. I didn't feel that he was pressuring me in any way to pick their facility, which was nice. It was very clean. I think what I like about that one is that all their apartments were ground level as opposed to having an upstairs, which is nice for older people. They also had apartments that were inside the main big building, but they also had more duplex-type apartments that were outside. And that was a nice option that not many places have for someone that's a little more independent and can be on their own and isn't quite ready for more of a community, apartment living, dorm style. The facility itself was well cared for. It wasn't like the newest facility, but there was nothing not functioning, or broken, or anything, like it, was still a nice facility.

I toured Brookdale Grand Prairie. It was very nice, and the tour was very good. I liked the bedrooms because it has the lounge attached. It makes the room much larger. The staff was very nice. The cleanliness was very good, too. They had a beauty salon, a pool table, and an arts and crafts room. They also have a nice large meeting room.

My mom loves Brookdale Grand Prairie. She loves the food as they have several options for each meal. There's activities, a library, a community room, and several different seating areas. The age of the place just shows a little bit, but they're pretty well updated, and I like that it's all on one level. It's really nice.

I went to Brookdale Grand Prairie in person, and they are some of the nicest people I've ever known. They're sweet, very kind, respectful, and helpful. The food is delicious. The facility is wonderful. It's very, very nice, well kept, and very cordial. They have braces on the wall that you can hang on to when you walk if you need. It's just very thoughtfully laid out.

My sister's and I have been touring facilities for our mother in the Albany area. We stopped in at Brookdale Grand Prairie a couple of weeks ago, without an appointment and were helped by a friendly, smiling staff. The tour of the facility was wonderful, we even talked to a couple of seniors walking in the hall. They said they were happy there. We noticed that the facility didn't match the pictures on the web page, so they must be doing some updates. We loved the changes! The rooms we saw were very spacious and had full kitchens. My sister loved the little patios! I noticed how clean and fresh the facility smelled, compared to others we have toured. They sent us out the door with a box of warm muffins and an invitation to bring bring our mother back for lunch. When it's to time we will definitely come back!

My mom was a resident of Brookdale Grand Prairie. They served her meals and the staff was supposed to clean her room. I would not recommend this place to anybody, they didn't keep her room clean and we just had a lot of problems. Most of the staff members were good, a lot of them were not but that's just the way it is. There are better ones around. My mom and her husband had been living there for several years, and I went over and did the things they wouldn't do. They had activities like cards, music, play games and that type of stuff. The cleanliness was not good. They only gave the girls 15 minutes to clean mom's room and she had a big apartment. The girls were nice but they didn't have enough time to clean. They would only have enough time to change her bed, vacuumed the middle of the apartment and clean the bathroom, that's all they've done but it wasn't their fault. They could improve by hiring help that would give time to do their job. And every time I tell them that something's wrong with mom's apartment they would say that it's on the computer but never got taken care of. There was a bush that grew on mom's window, and they never trimmed it, the toilets kept running over. When my mother's husband moved in they didn't put in new carpeting and it was dirty and they could never get it clean but would never replace it. It's an old community, I don't know what they'll do. Now they're replacing everything in mom's room.

The people at Brookdale are pretty friendly, and the meals seemed to be pretty decent. I have a 1-bedroom, 1- bath. They cleaned the rooms, they do all the meals, they change the sheets, and they have games like bean bag baseball, Bingo, and Scrabble.

Brookdale Grand Prairie is a beautiful location, but it was not what we were looking for. We talked to one of the staff members, and she was very pleasant. It has a beautiful setting with lots of trees.
