"Our father stayed with Ashley Manor in Grants Pass. The place was wonderful. It was a whole package. I loved the place and the staff. The facility has a very homey environment. It was quite large and it was not crowded. His room was very nice, very adequate, and it even had a private bath. He just wasn't there for very long. He passed away last month. "

"The interaction with the staff was for the most part good. The staff were nice to me and my family when we visited my grandmother. My grandmother never spoke ill of them. My grandmother lived on the second floor and every time I walked down the hall to her room I would see several pictures, but the one I clearly remember was of 6 or 7 ducklings in various positions. It always made me smile. Just down the hall from my grandmothers room was what they called the "Coca-Cola Room." The room was set up like and old school soda shop. We would often head to this room because with my four children and husband, her room got too small really fast. The facilities were always clean. "

"My parents moved into Brookdale Grants Pass Village. It's a 3-level care community. So far it has been very relatively positive and easy process for them. They are in a 2-bedroom cottage. My stepdad likes the environment and the way it feels. The facility was very clean and they are offered three meals a day. In case their needs change, they can just be attended right there. "

"I was very satisfied with Spring Meadows. But I fell and hurt myself pretty bad, so I went to live with my son and my daughter. I thought the food there was excellent. The service was excellent too, and I loved the people there. "

"I have written before, when my mother first went to Countryside and since. One member of their staff has touched so many hearts and still does. That is Tammy she is truly an asset in so many ways. We became life friends and I am so thankful! This facility is like family. "

"Heidi Lane Ashley Manor is a very nice facility that has a homey feel. The layout is good for socialization with other clients and staff. The meals seem to be good as my Mom has been very healthy since residing there, when she had not been as healthy previously at other facilities. I have had some issues with grooming such as teeth, hair and nails, but other cleanliness has been fine. I feel that the grooming has improved since Iris has been designated administrator. She seems to be on top of things, and really seems to care about giving good care."

"My parents are currently living there at Redwood Terrace. The staffs are very good there, and I am not complaining about them. In fact, they have gotten a lot of rewards for being such a good place. It is designed only for assisted living, and you are cared for around the clock. Their place is very small, but for those kinds of places it is OK. I have eaten their meal, and it is fine there. "

"A Country Home is a smaller home. It's out in the country. There are only 5 women there, and that's the basic thing. They don't have a lot of clientele in there. The women who are there are pretty much permanent residents. They're very caring people. I was referred to them by another caregiver. The food is excellent. They do different things with the ones who are able. They do a couple of field trips. In my sister's physical condition, I think it's a good place for her. "

"I toured Weatherly Inn and I liked that one. It's very close to the freeway and all the main stores. It's just about within walking distance. Medford's a good-sized place and that puts us close to the grocery stores or Costco, and Fred Meyer is just right around the corner, which is pretty neat. You don't have to drive too far. The staff is all wonderful. There's no doubt about it. They're very professional and super friendly. That's got to be a place that if you don't like your job there, you better get out. Some people need some real help, and we don't need somebody treating them poorly. The room was a little surprising to me. It looked kind of cramped. We were looking for two-bedroom ones. We like to work on our computers, so we need an extra room. That one-bedroom would be a fine size for a computer. The furniture we have here in our home, it would not fit into the master bedroom in the one-bedroom at Weatherly. A queen-size bed would go great, but not a king. It is very homey, warm environment. There's a piano in the dining room and somebody comes to play soft music while you're eating, which is kind of neat. The only thing about Weatherly is that in the parking area the cars are extremely close together. I don't know how many people were visiting when I went there, maybe they had an overflow of cars that day, but the car spaces seemed really close together, and turning off you'd have to have a small car to be comfortable there. If you have a big pickup truck like I've got, you have to drive in, back out a little bit, and then go back in. That's how tight it was from the other parking spaces. There's a major hospital that's just a few blocks away from Weatherly. If they have to get to the hospital quick, they're there in a moment, which is kind of nice."

"Mother also lived in the Fountain Plaza. They had a bus that would take the residents to their doctor's office or whatever kind of medical appointment they had to go through. The place was homey and well-maintained. The lady behind their front desk was an absolute delight, she made the whole experience enjoyable, and she's the best thing that I liked about this facility. "

"With The Orchards Assisted Living, it wasn't a very pleasant visit. The second I walked in, the two people at the front desk, I told them that we were there for a tour, and they stood there fighting about who was going to take us on a tour. They were fighting like, 'I'm not doing it.' 'No, I'm not doing it.' 'I already did one today, so I'm not doing it.' It was just like they were fighting, and my mom and I were just standing there waiting for somebody to take us on a tour. It wasn't very pleasant. The facility was nice. There wasn't an issue with the facility. It was mainly just the staffing. One of the managers ended up taking us on a tour, and every time I tried to ask her a question about something that was going on or just trying to get more information about the facility, she was like, 'Oh, I don't know. You would have to talk to somebody else.' It was really bad. I also noticed like even when we were doing the tours, the lady was very interactive with the residents. We were kind of walking right past them. For amenities, they don't have a beauty salon, but they have a huge room that has everything in it. It has a bookshelf with some books on it, and it has a TV with some couches. They don't have like an individual library or anything like that. They just have a little bookshelf with some books on it. "

"The rooms at Avamere at Waterford are a nice size with two closets. They have a shower in their bathroom. The people seemed to be nice. They have a swimming pool, and it looks like a nice place. It was very clean."

"What I like about Ashley Manor Care Center is that it's small and intimate. The staff is fabulous, caring, compassionate, and funny. My mom has been here for almost two months now. Being a small facility, they can almost give the residents one on one care. They have two residents per room, and it's a fairly large room, so they are not tripping over each other. The place is very spacious. With regards to their food, they offer different varieties. The place is also secured. They have a code to get in and a code to get out. I am absolutely very satisfied with them. "

"I visited Laurel Pines this last week to consider admitting my father, whom I brought with me and is a Marine veteran of 8 years. This was not an easy thing for me to do considering how independent he has been throughout his life. We had an encounter with a young man who worked there, with a good deal of facial hair and a blue smock. As I wheeled my father up to the door we bumped into him and began to have a talk about the facility and what it has to offer, as my father has suffered from a stroke this last year he can't speak well and tried his best to join in the conversation the best he could. This seemed to be quite funny to the young man and after a heated exchange we left very quickly. I can't begin to express my disgust and concern that all of Laurel Pines employees are like the man we encountered. Sincearly Peter B "
