"The rooms at Avamere at Waterford are a nice size with two closets. They have a shower in their bathroom. The people seemed to be nice. They have a swimming pool, and it looks like a nice place. It was very clean."

"My mother lives here. Fountain Plaza is very well run. The staff are exactly the kind of people you want caring for your loved one. The food is very good; we are always happy to have a meal there. The grounds are lovely and many residents care for the numerous rose beds themselves. It is an older building, but impeccably maintained. My mother is extremely happy here, as are many of her fellow residents. "

"I went to Weatherly Inn. It's a very interesting tour. There's a very polite lady. I enjoyed it. They have a good gym and a good library. I had lunch there. The food wasn't bad but it wasn't the best. The staff who gave the tour was very young. She was a very pleasant person and a well-groomed, nice-looking lady. The dining area was nice and very pleasant. The tables were set up nicely. It looked nice and clean. They had a lot of things to do every day. I am looking forward to that. During my tour, I was sitting at a table and then a lady dropped something, and she had to come to my table and get it, so we had a nice little visit right there. She was very pleasant, too. So it was a good experience."

"The Springs at Veranda Park was a bit expensive, but I liked it a lot. It's a big facility. There was a restaurant and you could go anytime of the day and get whatever you wanted. They had lots of activities. The grounds were beautiful. The rooms were basic, but pretty nice. It's clean, well-maintained, and pretty topnotch. I only met one person, but she was very pleasant."

"My parents moved in. It's a very good experience, and they are very pleased. The staff is fabulous, the room is adequate, they really appreciate the amenities, having the food prepared, cleaning, and the transportation. They're very pleased that even though they're in independent living they can transition to assisted living, which they may need. They have food services, and just having socialization, and having people around them instead of being stuck in their home, they really appreciate the social aspect."

"Anna Maria Creekside was wonderful. The person who assisted me was very good and established a connection with me right away, and I was impressed with the activity list that they had. They're going to the coast sometime in the future. However, I wasn't happy that they didn't have cottages, only apartments."

"My in-laws are in Twin Creeks Retirement. The place is pretty posh, and it's very nice. They have like apartments there and you can go down to the dining room. The food is to-die for. You have to pay extra for the maid service. That's part of the deal. You can live in the apartments and they also have little homes for two people. My in-laws have a 2-bedroom apartment and it's really big. They have lots of activities, and they have buses to go to casinos. The staff members seem very nice and everything is done very well."

"The most attractive thing about Mountain Meadows is the owners run it. You buy a house, or you buy a condo, and then you're a member of the homeowner's association. You vote who's going to run it, who's going to be on the board, and the board makes all the decisions. They have dining facilities. Mountain Meadows' activities are planned by the owners and the residents there, and they participate in them. They have hiking and biking clubs. They go into schools and work with kids. They have a pool, exercise classes, and university classes. They're much more vibrant, much more alive and involved. The staff was very friendly and competent. They were hired by the homeowners, and if they didn't do what they were supposed to, their employment is discontinued. I guess the only thing would be to have dining service more often, seven days a week. I have purchased a condo, and I'll be moving there this summer. "

"My friend is in Cascades of Grants Pass (Formerly Brookdale Grants Pass Village). I am not real impressed with the place. It's a beautiful facility. It's just not the right place for her. It's clean, it's beautiful, the food is good, but she needs more one-on-one care that she doesn't get there. The place itself is great. She has dementia, but she's not quite that enough to go into their dementia facility. They said they only put people in there that are a flight risk, but she's bad enough to where when she goes down to eat, she always chooses dessert. They keep saying they can't force her to do things. They give you a menu and you could choose, which is great for most people, but she chooses dessert. I've asked them about it a couple of times and nothing has been done about it. When she got there, she was in a wheelchair, so they just assumed that she couldn't walk. She hates it there. They have a lot of activities. It's very expensive. They're charging $1000 for the extra care that she needs, but she's not getting it."

"I have written before, when my mother first went to Countryside and since. One member of their staff has touched so many hearts and still does. That is Tammy she is truly an asset in so many ways. We became life friends and I am so thankful! This facility is like family. "

"Horizon Village was impressive and would fit our needs. Their coordinator was very good at showing us what may be coming available and how things work. They have activities every month from potlucks, bingo, people getting together to watch the Super Bowl, and different things like that. They have a community room and a dog walking area, too. The units were connected, like duplexes, and they had a one car garage. They had a dishwasher, a microwave, and a washer and dryer. We looked at a two-bathroom. One was a full bathroom, while the other was just a shower. Then they all had a patio and backyard. It seemed to be well maintained."
